My sister sadly passed on, last November, after being in Ty Enfys for a long time. Her sense of well-being over the last 12 months was a continuation of many years. She had suffered from anxiety before she took up residence at the home but I am delighted to say that when she was at the home, the anxiety
left her. I believe the social aspects of the home and the priority given to entertainment, which continued over the last year, helped my sister a great deal. I am very grateful to the manager for the way the home was run and to the caring staff.

Mum was allocated a residential room in early November. From the minute we arrived, the staff at the care home were very attentive and made sure mum was ok. Leaving your home of 66 years is extremely difficult, but the transition has been made so much easier due to the lovely surroundings, caring attentive
staff and good food. I am very happy for mum to be a resident here and feel such relief that she is being looked after so well. All the staff are very approachable and do their best to help even when they are busy. Mum has always been reluctant to ask for help but the staff very kindly offer suggestions and mum is now accepting help on her terms. I would definitely recommend Ty Enfys as a safe, caring, modern comfortable care home. And of course, we love Ted the resident dog!

Ty Enfys Care Home is a bright modernised care facility offering a high-quality of care. Residents are encouraged to join in various activities to stimulate their day but if that's not their thing, then staff will spend some time with them just having a chat or having a hot drink. The rooms are adequate
and kept immaculately clean at all times. The main entrance reception area can be used by residents and visitors to enjoy a pleasant meeting space with a welcome, free tea and coffee machine. The gardens to the rear are also a lovely meeting space, when weather permits. My 93-year-old mother is well cared for and although she hasn't fully accepted the loss of her independence, I know that Ty Enfys staff do all they can to make her feel settled and welcome in her new environment.

It's such a load off my mind to know that Mum is in Ty Enfys and always has people on hand, if she has any problems. There are things for her to do and people to mix with but she has the choice to go to her room if she isn't in the mood for company. She enjoys the hairdresser and having her nails done
and likes the staff who look after her.

Lovely, friendly staff who are always available to help with any matter big or small. Ty Enfys provides a very clean and homely environment. The food is good quality but varying menus more regularly would be nice. The staff really make everyone welcome and encourage/facilitate resident participation
in activities, where possible. The facilities are good and residents (and their visitors!) can use the garden, cinema, bar and the reception area for tea and coffee. I was delighted to see that Ty Enfys welcomes pets - Ted the dog is a friendly little chap and I have brought my own dog in to visit family members too. Previously, we have also enjoyed visits from Birds of Prey and also Reindeer at Christmas! Music is also an important part of life at Ty Enfys and there are regular concerts and a weekly church service that residents and families can attend. The staff, without doubt, are fantastic and they work so hard to make sure that everyone is well cared for.

My father has been a resident at Ty Enfys since September 2021. My family and I cannot speak highly enough of the care he receives there. He is very happy and feels at home there. The staff are all lovely and go to great lengths to keep the residents happy. We are kept up to date with my dad's medical
care. There are lots of activities, organised by the fantastic activities team, to keep the residents engaged and stimulated, and my dad really enjoys the interaction with the staff and other residents. We had a lovely birthday celebration for him and the staff went to a lot of trouble to decorate a room for him. There is a lovely garden for the residents to enjoy. The rooms are spacious and bright and the food is of a high standard. There is such a happy and welcoming atmosphere at Ty Enfys, and we love visiting Dad there. We are so happy that Dad is in this lovely, caring environment.

Mum died in March 2022. She has been a resident at Ty Enfys for three years. Her care has been exemplary. Their concern for Mum and her family was always on the top of their agenda - they coped with the pandemic and kept in contact. Mum was always happy, and nothing was too much trouble. We are forever

My mother has been a resident at Ty Enfys Care Home since February 2022. During this time, I have been very impressed with the care and support she has received. From our first enquiry about being a resident, the management were very informative, helpful and understanding of our mum's needs. The management’s
ethos has obviously carried through to the rest of the staff from all departments as everyone is caring and shows a willingness to help in whatever way they can. My mum has settled into her new home now and is very content with the food which is of a very high standard, she enjoys a variety of activities which keep her mind and soul healthy and enjoys the interactions between the other residents. The home is modern and both residents and visitors have access to many common areas which are kept clean and to a high standard. We would highly recommend Ty Enfys care home to all prospective users. My mum has been very well cared for at Ty Enfys Care Home and we are so pleased that she has been kept safe and comfortable throughout the Covid pandemic. Even when we weren't able to visit due to restrictions, we were able to talk to Mum every day via video-calling, facilitated by the lovely carers
or members of the Lifestyle Team. We believe this has been hugely beneficial - both to Mum and to us, her family - and we are so grateful for this. The housekeeping and laundry teams have done a great job, as has the catering team too. We always feel that we are kept in the loop by the nurses with regards to Mum's health, and appreciate the very good communication with them. Thank you so much to all at Ty Enfys Care Home!

The most caring and lovely atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. The staff keep you informed of your loved ones' everyday experiences. There are various activities each day. The food is first class and staff go far beyond their job descriptions to keep the residents happy and

My brother has been in Ty Enfys for six months. I find all the staff very caring and compassionate and treat all residents with dignity. The activities never fail to amaze me, there is always a choice to choose from. Depending on what a resident is interested in, they do activities individually or as
a group, to suit every need. The reception area is like a first-class hotel. On arrival at the home, you feel welcome immediately.

My uncle has only recently arrived at this home. The change in him is remarkable - he looks clean and is so well cared for. It's great to know that he is spending so much time mixing with the other residents and participating in all the activities. At his last home, he had become so withdrawn and the

We visited Ty Enfys on Friday 26th November. Our friend's clothes were dishevelled and her trousers were stained. Her nails were dirty. The chair she sat in had old, dried food spilt in the frame and footsteps. The home is extremely short-staffed. There were only two staff to care for twenty heavily
dependent clients. The home needs more and more staff.

Mum has been at Ty Enfys for a couple of years now and is happy and settled there. The only issues for us would be staff shortages but the carers who look after her do their best to be kind and helpful. The nursing care is of a high standard and we know, as a family, that her health is monitored very
closely. Very good care on the whole.

I’m General Manager at Ty Enfys and have enjoyed working here for ten years. I completed my nursing degree in 1984 and then worked in the Middle East until 1999, gaining experience in nursing, psychiatric medicine and oncology. I am proud to be part of a passionate team that put the happiness of residents at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top 20 care homes in the whole of Wales.

I have been a nurse for 30 years and began my career in India and then worked in the Middle East. I have experience in both hospital and care home settings.

I am the Customer Relationship manager here at Ty Enfys and have been working here since 2019. I come to the job with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector in both event planning and sales roles.


I am responsible for all the enquiries and admissions into the home, a role I get great joy from. I enjoy helping all people whether it is our residents, prospective residents or their friends and family.

I am the Lifestyle Leader at Ty Enfys and have been since 2014. I get great job satisfaction out of my role and working closely with the residents, getting to know their likes, dislikes and life histories which are always fascinating; it’s the biggest perk of the job. I have lived in Cardiff since attending Cardiff University in 2008 and I couldn’t see myself anywhere else! Organising trips, events and entertainment allows me and the residents to see all of the great things that Cardiff has to offer.

I am the Dementia Community Lead and have been working at Ty Enfys since 2015. I have been a nurse for over 16 years, recently becoming the community lead position.


I enjoy my role and the difference I make in the care of those living with dementia. Relationship-centred care is at the heart of all I do and I love to see residents thrive each day.

Job Title: Nursing Community Leader Joined: 2012

I am the team leader on the Nursing Community. I qualified as a nurse in India in 2009 and came to the UK in 2012 to study a Professional Practice Diploma at the University of South Wales which was incorporated with the overseas nurses programme.


I started as a Care Assistant at Ty Enfys in 2012 and obtained my UK PIN number in 2014. I have been a nurse at Ty Enfys ever since!
Building relationships with residents and colleagues, together with meeting the needs of the residents is what I most enjoy about my job.

Job Title: Love and Affection Manager Joined: 2011

Ted has been with us since he was 8 weeks old and now it feels as if he has always been here. The benefits of pets within a care home have been widely documented and we can see first-hand the positive effect Ted has on the residents and visitors here at Ty Enfys. He works Monday to Friday 9 am-5 pm and is so friendly, bringing a smile to so many faces.
