As a family, we feel so lucky to have chosen Ty-Enfys as our choice of care for mum, Mum has been a resident/patient for over 6 months and she has received nothing but great care and attention. She has made good friends with both residents and staff and we, as a family, are very grateful to all management

Ty Enfys is a home, it's not a 'parking place' for elderly relatives to spend their final months. The staff are wonderful in the care, the support, the friendliness and the activities they give.

I have confidence in the quality of care provided by Ty Enfys. The home offers a pleasant, welcoming and supportive environment for both residents and family members. Staff ensure they get to know residents well and do all they can to meet individual needs and preferences. In the case of dementia, the
home is able to adapt to residents' changing health and care needs and all residents are gently encouraged to join in activities to the extent that they are willing and able to do so. No one is left to feel isolated.

Ty Enfys is a comfortable, caring and friendly home with high standards of care and consideration for residents. My father has been a resident there for over 5 years. The home is furnished and maintained to a pleasant and high standard more hotel than care home! Inevitably there is always room for improvement,
there always seems to be a shortage of carers and dad sometimes has to wait for a long time for a response which worries him and causes stress. The food and dining experience could also be improved as the latter gets very noisy at times. All in all, though I always leave Ty Enfys feeling that it is "as good as it gets" and I know that dad is safe there - perhaps the most important criterion.

I find the staff extremely helpful and communicative with residents.
The rooms are well cleaned. Alternatives are provided to meals.


One point to address is the need to fully explain how to organise, booking and payment for services such as hairdressing and nail care when a resident enters Ty Enfys.

My friend has been a resident at Ty Enfys for a number of years. Since being there she is a much calmer and happier person. All the staff are extremely friendly to visitors and residents and make everyone feel at home. They have numerous activities and I would recommend it to anyone needing care.

My mother seems to be very happy, which is the main thing. She gets confused about the location of her belongings but staff have been very supportive and followed our instructions fully. This is important because it has helped reduce her anxiety levels and mitigate the effects of dementia.

My family has had a long association with Ty Enfys, having an uncle as a resident for many years and more recently my mother. All the staff have been wonderful to them both. I have been into many homes in Cardiff during my career as a district nurser and Ty Enfys is the best home I have experienced.
I have no complaints about any of the care they have had over the years, except for clothes going missing at times. However, I believe this is common in most care homes.

My parents moved into Ty Enfys together in mid-August after we realised they could no longer cope at home. It was a difficult decision but due to great care and support, lovely staff and wonderful surroundings of Ty Enfys, they have settled in very quickly and are very happy. They are both looking relaxed
and well cared for.

We are friends of one of the residents whom we visit every week, We find that the staff are always very friendly and helpful (especially Ted the dog!) and who our friend and ex-neighbour loves to see around the home. Also, the receptionist is always friendly and welcoming with a big smile for all.

The level of care and the standard of the home generally appear excellent, although my mother considers that the standard of the food may not always be wonderful.
Whether this is her personal preference I cannot say without personal experience.

Ty Enfys is an excellent care home. Staff are friendly and professional. They show enthusiasm in their work which reflects on the joy with which they approach their caring role. We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top 20 care homes in the whole of Wales.
