Emerson Grange is an amazing facility, it really is a care home that breaks the mould with its overall homely feel and care above and beyond. The staff are amazing, the facilities really are the best. Always a friendly face and 'home from home'. The worries I had with my mum moving into care have faded
away, replaced with a feeling she really is in a genuinely good place! Keep up the good work.

My father has been at Emerson Grange Care Home since September 2024. I can honestly say all the staff are fantastic, caring and supportive. When I requested my dad move floors, this was done quickly and efficiently by the manager. The head of nursing is always helpful and knowledgeable.
Reception
staff are especially lovely always with a smile. One thing dad would like is better food.

My wife has been a resident (nursing care) at Emerson Grange Care Home since February 2023. My sons and I undertook careful evaluation of homes providing nursing care 24/7 before applying on my wife's behalf to Emerson Grange. It has been the best decision we could have made, our overall experience
of the professional support and care my wife receives has been first class. I visit daily and have noticed a significant improvement in my wife's health and well being since her transfer form hospital. We are most appreciative.

We decided to put our mother-in-law into a home in April this year. After looking at 10 to 15 homes, we chose Emerson Grange Care Home. It stood well above all the others we viewed and has not let us down. The staff goes above and beyond with service and care. It was a very difficult decision to put
a family member into care, but we have no regrets. Emerson has been a godsend. 5 stars.

I have no complaints towards my mother's care. She is well looked after, although we have noticed less carers on the nursing floor in recent months.
Food is excellent.
She's always clean and nicely dressed.
The staff are lovely.

My mum has been at Emerson for three years, and it was the best decision I made for her - she is very well cared for by wonderful staff and lives in beautiful surroundings, the entertainment staff are amazing with daily activities, parties and arranging for singers to entertain the residents. This has
to be the best care you could wish for.

Having recently moved my mother into a beautiful room on the second floor (dementia floor) I have been very pleased with the way she has settled. The staff have been very caring and attentive. The activities team are extremely important, especially for those on the dementia floor. They do such a good
job and I can't stress how pleased I am that mum gets out and about and is kept busy and happy.

I live in one of the apartments at Emerson Park. Recently I experienced a sudden and life-threatening health incident. I was able to contact the receptionist who sent somebody to my apartment to check on me. He was promptly followed by a nurse. The nurse took my vital signs and promptly contacted 999
she told them she thought I might have sepsis. The ambulance came promptly and took me to hospital. If I had not lived here where prompt efficient and knowledgeable staff were available I might not be alive.

At 95, he has been in and out of hospital with chest infections for years. Since being here, he has been so well looked after. He has only needed to visit the hospital once, at the beginning of his stay. And to be honest, we couldn't wait for him to be discharged so he could go back to the Granges for
better care. I really cannot recommend this home enough.

Recent restructuring has worked really well for my mum. Life is quieter now and she has responded by being more chatty and interactive. She does more for herself and is happy and content. Moving staff she knew along with residents made the move easy and stress-free. As a family, we are really happy

Mum is very comfortable here. Staff are caring. She has had two accidents in the past year and they have ensured she is well looked after. Sometimes (not often) I feel staff are overstretched, generally in the post-lunch period when other staff are taking lunch and I have stayed longer than intended
just to satisfy myself that all is ok. Also, sometimes comms/process is unclear. However, overall I am very satisfied with the care Mum has received since being here.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.862)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.862) out of 10 for Emerson Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 76 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 76 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.862 for Emerson Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (785 Excellents x 5) + (106 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 900 Ratings = 4.862
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Emerson Grange Care Home is based on 76 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17, which has been reached with 76 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head of Care & Registered Manager Joined: 2024

What I Do:

In May 2022, I made the significant decision to join Cinnamon as the Care Service Manager, a choice that has since proven to be the most rewarding in my career. Within the company, I was fortunate to be promoted to Head of Care/Registered Manager.

As Head of Care/Registered Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the complete care process for our residents, starting from the preadmission phase. My primary goal is to ensure that each resident’s care journey begins with a strong foundation, allowing us to deliver personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care.

My role at Emerson Grange presents an exciting and inspiring challenge. I am committed to bringing my expertise, experience, and dedication to enhancing the well-being of our residents while upholding the highest standards of care. My focus is on ensuring that each resident enjoys a dignified and fulfilling quality of life. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the continued success of Emerson Grange as a leader in UK care services.

My Experience:

My healthcare career began in 2007 when I started working as a healthcare assistant within the National Health Service (NHS). This role provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and laid the foundation for my future in healthcare.

With a commitment to furthering my education and expertise, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Greenwich University, gaining essential knowledge and skills for delivering high-quality patient care. To expand my understanding of public health, I also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Sunderland. This advanced qualification has enriched my perspective on healthcare management and service delivery.

Throughout my time with Cinnamon, I have gained extensive experience as a Care Service Manager, where I have embraced the company’s vision and values. This continuity has enabled me to transition smoothly into my current role as Head of Care/Registered Manager, where I am committed to fostering high standards of care for all residents.

About Me:

I am fortunate to be married and a proud parent of three wonderful children who continually inspire and motivate me in both my personal and professional life. Beyond my work and family, I enjoy pursuing creative hobbies such as design, where I take pleasure in the process of bringing ideas to life. I also have a passion for party planning, finding joy in organizing memorable events that bring happiness to others.

What I do:
As a Resident Services Advisor, I support families who are considering a change in their current living situation, sometimes as a choice and sometimes due to necessity. My role is both rewarding and fulfilling and brings me great satisfaction as no two days are ever the same, just as no two people are ever the same.

My aim is to support families to make the decision that is right for them and their loved ones. I appreciate that moving, whether downsizing to one of our apartments or into our care home, is a highly emotional experience, and I support and guide our residents and their families through the process, both offering advice and ensuring a smooth and timely move.

My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 20 years. My initial role as an activity coordinator provided me with the wonderful opportunity to get to know residents and learn about them as individuals. I have worked both regionally and at the home level in a variety of roles. As a member of the Emerson Park team, I endeavour to continue with my commitment to supporting residents, their families and my colleagues in ensuring that our home is a great place to live and work.

About me
I am lucky to have a large family around me, and when I am spending time away from work, I love to enjoy the company of those I love. I enjoy gardening, walking, and reading. I am a secret twitcher and can get overly excited when I see a rare bird.
