My brother-in-law thinks he's in a very posh hotel, likes all the attention given to him, and he is very happy. This week we were offered coffee and cakes; I wish we were offered coffee every time we visit. The Emerson Grange staff set a very high standard in every way. Well done.

Mum has resided at Emerson Grange since December 20. She was at another care home previously and very unhappy and depressed. Since moving, the whole family has noticed a remarkable improvement in her wellbeing. Despite not being able to visit, with regular phone and Skype calls we can all see how happy
she is. She says the staff are wonderful, treating her like their own family. The facilities available are superb and with activities, everyday mum is being kept busy and stimulated both physically and mentally. She comments on the choice and quality of the food with her only complaint being about the weight she is gaining! In all our dealings with the staff at Emerson, we have found them to be professional, caring and very passionate about the role they play in looking after our loved ones. There are cheaper options available but quality costs and if you want the very best for your relative we would not recommend Emerson Grange highly enough.

We consider the staff very dedicated, approachable, and caring. All individual staff seems to be happy in their work which must be difficult in the current times. We are always grateful that they come in and look after our mother. We are sorry that we are unable to visit the home, but the skype facility
has been a great help to keep in touch. The staff are very helpful and keep us inform of any changes to her health and wellbeing. It is a shame that activities have had to be curtailed during the current pandemic but when they return we expect they will return to a good standard of varied experiences. We would highly recommend Emerson Grange albeit but we feel their charges are expensive when self-funding.

Moving into a care home is an anxious time for both the individual and family members. Our minds were quickly put at ease by the outstanding care and support that has been continuously demonstrated. In my view, the care team on the Windsor floor where mum has lived since September 2019 are professional,
dedicated and always prepared to help and listen to any concerns. Dementia can be a very challenging and misunderstood illness, with mood swings, confusion and memory issues to cope with every single day. Knowing mum is cared for and her needs understood brings a huge amount of reassurance and comfort to our family. We know she retains her dignity and feels part of Windsor floor, taking part in activities or just watching her telly with a cuppa. Her safety and security in these difficult times has been of paramount importance to us. The complete team have done an amazing job keeping loved ones in touch and informed. We are grateful that Mum feels at home and happy at Emerson's.

One of the things that attracted us to Emersons was that the directors of the parent company (Cinnamon) were all experienced healthcare professionals from the NHS and would know the best ways to care for people living with particular physical and mental health needs. My Mum has been a resident on the
dementia floor for 18 months. The care home is like a 5-star hotel, with wonderful facilities. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, each with an ensuite wet room, rise and fall bed, TV and other fittings. The lounge areas are lovely with access to a secure balcony. The food is excellent and well presented. But of course, the main thing for us is the exceptional care that Mum receives. All the staff are professional, respectful, kind and caring. They have made huge efforts to encourage Mum to socialise and engage in the many activities that are run every day. We have seen a marked positive change in Mum's wellbeing and demeanour. It was absolutely the right decision for Mum to move here.

I moved into Emerson Lodge in late Autumn 2019. The majority of the staff are good and care a lot about providing a service which is friendly and effective.
On the rare occasion when a function does not meet expectations, the residents are encouraged to discuss the problem with them so that corrective
steps may be taken. The management should receive a big thank you for responding quickly and effectively to prevent staff and residents succumbing to Covid-19.

The home is extremely well run and is comfortable. I am a bit disabled and so have to rely on the carers and nurses heavily most of the time. This is a good relationship. I am finding it difficult to write but the main point is I feel my needs are covered. However, I occasionally feel stressed due to
absence in care.

During "name that tune" most people over 75 do not appreciate modern music so most could not name that tune. Better to have their era i.e 40s, 50s even 30s. On original form said either boxes for medicines or doseurs, did not say only original boxes accepted. As my husband was admitted as an emergency
we did not have original boxes which created a problem as GPs closed Sat and Sun. Otherwise have nothing but praise for the staff. My husband is so much better.

Thank you for your feedback. Our activity programme is constantly evolving and we conduct regular surveys and review meetings with our residents and relatives to ensure that it is current and engaging; your observation is very useful and I have discussed this with our Activity Manager.
We can only accept medications in their original packaging for safety and regulatory reasons. Loose medication cannot be accepted and I apologise that this policy was not made clear during the pre-admission process. I have also discussed this learning with the Care Services Manager and Home Advisors to ensure that in future this requirement is made absolutely clear.

I came here to recover from a fall. My stay was to be 2 weeks and because of the high level of care and attention, I have now stayed on and been here for 6 weeks. The food has been very good and I have enjoyed the company of others. It's so nice to see people every day and have a chat. The activities

Has taken quite a time to find out how the system operates and still learning but enjoying my stay as best I can with my physical problems (and medical).
Staff very friendly also other residents. Some problem with medicine treatments going back many years would like to discuss. Transport could be a
problem as no family support which is a problem.

Transferred directly from a hospital stay, for 3 weeks respite care. Very comfortable and treated very well, like a member of a large family. Short stay welcomed, accommodation permitting, when family commitments require husband to be away for several nights.

My partner came to Emerson Park, very scared, angry, not sociable, since his arrival he has settled amazingly. He is comfortable, extremely well looked after, and he is as happy as he possibly can be. I myself, feel the pressure has left me, knowing he is in a nursing home that genuinely cares about

In May 2022, I made the significant decision to join Cinnamon as the Care Service Manager, a choice that has since proven to be the most rewarding in my career. Within the company, I was fortunate to be promoted to Head of Care/Registered Manager.


As Head of Care/Registered Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the complete care process for our residents, starting from the preadmission phase. My primary goal is to ensure that each resident’s care journey begins with a strong foundation, allowing us to deliver personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care.


My role at Emerson Grange presents an exciting and inspiring challenge. I am committed to bringing my expertise, experience, and dedication to enhancing the well-being of our residents while upholding the highest standards of care. My focus is on ensuring that each resident enjoys a dignified and fulfilling quality of life. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the continued success of Emerson Grange as a leader in UK care services.


My Experience:


My healthcare career began in 2007 when I started working as a healthcare assistant within the National Health Service (NHS). This role provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and laid the foundation for my future in healthcare.


With a commitment to furthering my education and expertise, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Greenwich University, gaining essential knowledge and skills for delivering high-quality patient care. To expand my understanding of public health, I also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Sunderland. This advanced qualification has enriched my perspective on healthcare management and service delivery.


Throughout my time with Cinnamon, I have gained extensive experience as a Care Service Manager, where I have embraced the company’s vision and values. This continuity has enabled me to transition smoothly into my current role as Head of Care/Registered Manager, where I am committed to fostering high standards of care for all residents.

I am a proud husband and a father to two beautiful daughters, and I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family both at home and abroad, sharing our love of travel. I am an avid sports fan and in my spare time can often be found on the cricket field, on the golf course or watching American Football.

As a Resident Services Advisor, I support families who are considering a change in their current living situation, sometimes as a choice and sometimes due to necessity. My role is both rewarding and fulfilling and brings me great satisfaction as no two days are ever the same, just as no two people are ever the same.


My aim is to support families to make the decision that is right for them and their loved ones. I appreciate that moving, whether downsizing to one of our apartments or into our care home, is a highly emotional experience, and I support and guide our residents and their families through the process, both offering advice and ensuring a smooth and timely move.


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 20 years. My initial role as an activity coordinator provided me with the wonderful opportunity to get to know residents and learn about them as individuals. I have worked both regionally and at the home level in a variety of roles. As a member of the Emerson Park team, I endeavour to continue with my commitment to supporting residents, their families and my colleagues in ensuring that our home is a great place to live and work.

My Experience:


I began my career in the travel industry, where I was fortunate enough to explore different parts of the world. This experience sparked my love for diverse cultures and connecting with people from all walks of life.
After leaving the travel industry, I transitioned into HR, where I was responsible for recruiting staff across multiple care homes, including nurses and care staff. It was during this time that I developed a deep understanding and appreciation for the importance of providing high-quality care to residents.


This naturally led me to a role where I worked closely with families, supporting them through the emotional and practical journey of moving a loved one into care. I later progressed to become a Regional Manager for a luxury care provider. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the care sector offering support, advice, and compassion to families during some of their most important decisions.


I chose to join Cinnamon as a Resident Services Advisor because I wanted to focus on making a difference within one home. It was an easy decision, given Cinnamon’s outstanding reputation in the care profession.


About Me:


I have a passion for travelling with a love for cruising; there’s nothing better than exploring multiple countries in one trip. I’ve always had a connection with animals, especially dogs and horses, and used to compete in horse shows when I was younger. I’m also a huge music lover and never miss a good concert, especially my favourite group, Bon Jovi. I’m a qualified Reiki healer and enjoy bringing calm and balance to others when I can.

My Experience:
I have had 14 years of experience in the Housekeeping industry and worked in luxury 5* serviced apartments, where I gain excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team. I am passionate to providing outstanding care and cleaning service for all residents to make the home an amazing place to be.


About me:
I was born in Lithuania and can speak two additional languages: Lithuanian and Russian. I like spending time with my family, camping, or just exploring nice and new places. Also, cycling, going to the theatre, and I enjoy travelling the world.

Vivienne

Vivienne Brosnan

Job Title: Home Administrator Joined: 2023

What I do


As Administrator, my role is to ensure the smooth running of the administrative functions in the home to support the General Manager. In this, I am ably supported by two full-time Reception Administrators and a part-time Recruitment Administrator.


My Experience


The Administration tasks cover payroll and all HR matters from initial recruitment to leaving employment, including providing minutes for a variety of meetings; sales ledger for residents and apartment owners, purchase ledger transactions, bank reconciliations and petty cash. There are many ad hoc tasks as well as dealing with queries relating to sales and purchase invoices. No two days are the same and I enjoy the variety and challenge of getting things done when plans go awry!


I have worked as an Administrator in a care home for more than 15 years and always enjoy the sense of being part of a team with my colleagues, doing our best for the residents and their families.


About Me


Outside work, I enjoy walking, with or without my dog, cycling, gardening, reading and visiting my daughter who lives in Bath.

Jamie

Jamie Bushnell

Job Title: Maintenance Manager Joined: 2019

What I Do:


My role at Emerson is to keep the building and grounds maintained to the highest standard. I make sure that all the equipment in the home is working correctly, as well as making sure it’s serviced and certificated. I also make sure that Emerson is a safe environment for the residents, visitors and staff.


My Experience:


I am a qualified electrician having completed an intensive 2-year apprenticeship. During my time working for my Dads business, I carried out a wide variety of jobs including fitting bathrooms, tiling, central heating repairs and roofing. I then joined a student accommodation company, carrying out maintenance on a 400-bed building for students of the Royal College of Music.


About Me:


Originally from Reading, I moved to the area in 2015 before getting married to my wife. Most of my free time outside of work is spent with my running club, training, coaching the club’s youngsters or running around a muddy field doing cross country! I’ve also taken up road cycling over the past year with the aim of one day completing a triathlon.
