My mother required nursing care following a brain aneurysm last year, where she was unfortunately left with no mobility or communication. I am so grateful for the excellent and specialist care being provided by the nursing and care team at Peaker Park. In addition to providing for my mother's daily care needs, they also ensure my mother's preexisting medical conditions are anticipated and monitored, as she can no longer express this herself. Communication with the Care Team Leader has also been exemplary. I am always updated to what actions they are taking to ensure my mother's wellbeing and health. This has not only been actions within the nursing home but also proactively with specialist health providers. It is reassuring to know that my mother is being looked after this well and a blessing that she is happy in her setting.

My mother developed Alzheimer's and like all families, we wanted the best care and found plenty of options. However, we were sold the upside without thinking through the downside. After moving her into one home, her condition deteriorated and she became challenging so we found that, as quick as the home had welcomed us, they wanted her moved out. It would have been smarter if we had found a home that could scale up to manage her condition through to end of life. Thankfully, we found Peaker Park. The facilities were excellent and the staff were amazing. From the first call and throughout their assessments, they focused on mapping my mother's needs. Throughout her stay, the team took great care to manage her condition and worked well with the local authorities, doctors, and dentists. Covid obviously caused significant disruption, but even as my mother's condition deteriorated they found ways to keep us close.

I am so grateful that both of my parents are safe, well cared for and living in the same care home. My parents both have dementia and were moved to Peaker Park from hospitals in May and July 2020 for their own safety, as living independently was no longer appropriate. The last year has been a most traumatic time with regards to my parents' health and the pandemic restrictions that have been in place making it nearly impossible for me to support my parents in the way I would have wanted to. The staff that look after my parents have been very understanding, approachable, friendly and helpful and on the few times I have been able to visit, clearly care with compassion and dedication. I have not had the opportunity to look around the home or experience any of the activities but we love seeing photographs on the dedicated Facebook page and try to arrange video calls with support from staff which is very reassuring. My mum always tells us ‘they are wonderful workers’ which says it all. Thank you.

My mother stayed in Mulroy House at Peaker Park for six months from January to July 2020. When she arrived she was very frail and quite poorly, with weight loss and a bowel infection. She was looked after by the nurse in charge and her excellent team of dedicated professionals who cared for her properly and she transformed during her time there into her old self again, putting back on the weight she had lost and began engaging with the staff and chatting with the other residents. It was like having my old Mum back when she was ready to move back home again. My whole family is very grateful for the skill, care and compassion shown by all of your staff towards my Mum, through what surely must have been the most difficult of times with the coronavirus pandemic lockdown arriving halfway through her stay. You patiently arranged video calls for all my family members with Mum as we could not visit in person during the lockdown. Thank you so much for all you have done.

My dad lived at Peaker Park for four months from January to May 2020.
He had dementia and lived in the secure Bowden unit.
From the moment I arrived with him, we were treated with such kindness and care.
All the staff were friendly and caring.
Initially, Dad displayed challenging behaviour but the staff were patient and understanding and eventually Dad settled down and was very happy.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Peaker Park.

Overall Experience
Our mother was cared for at Peaker Park during the last weeks of her life. She had been in hospital before her admission. From our first engagement with the home, we were impressed. The management, nurses and support staff were all very welcoming and understood how difficult it was for mum to adjust to being transferred here given her dementia and frailty.
Management and the trained nurses took the time to understand our mum's needs and took decisions which aligned with her and our wishes. The accommodation was clean and kept in good condition and we felt that the staff cared about mum, us and the other residents.

The only observations we would make is that communication between teams occasionally broke down. We understand this happens and to be clear it occurred far less here than it did in hospital or at the previous care home. We want to place on record our sincere gratitude for the care given to my mum which made her last days happy, pain-free and comfortable.

My husband was a resident at Peaker Park due to his physical immobility. At all times he was treated with dignity, kindness and respect and enjoyed the camaraderie of staff and visitors. I always found the staff to be calm and caring. Peaker Park is a friendly place and visitors are always welcome.

I must admit I was apprehensive when I was told I needed a spell of care, that meant leaving my bungalow and moving into one of the apartments available. I needn't have worried, the kindness shown to me by all staff, the care at all times has been excellent.

My mother has been here for a year. I believe she has had great care. Me and my family are always updated on latest news/condition. The activities are good. But, unfortunately, my mother refuses to take part. (Doesn't even put telly or radio on).

My mother was in Mulbury House Peaker Park for a total of five and a half weeks under a caring, dedicated team receiving palliative care. Their care and that off Peaker Park was totally professional and at the same time individual. Giving and going beyond duty of care. They also nurtured us the family with such dignity. I cannot express my feelings of gratitude enough. You all made my mother's end of life care so calm and loving. Thank you all.

My mum sadly died in Peaker Park in December after over 4 years of being a resident. For the support I received getting her a place and the consistently high standard of care she received throughout her stay, I am truly grateful.
The staff are dementia trained to a high standard showing a genuine interest from all staff, including management of the home, to provide the most appropriate care possible. I always heard the care staff speaking to the residents, including my mum, with the utmost respect and patience. I was also kept fully informed of any issues regarding Mum's well-being which was very reassuring.

I wish to thank the staff, both past and present, for all their hard work.

I can recommend Peaker Park wholeheartedly if you are looking for a caring, professional home for a person with Alzheimer's. My mother has been a resident for 5 years and recently had end-of-life care there. I am full of praise for the care my mother received and the treatment we were given at this time from carers to office staff alike. My sincere thanks goes out to them all. I shall miss my visits there and will always recommend them on every possible occasion in the future.

My father has been in Melody Court for three months, initially admitted from hospital for assessment. During this time his physical and mental health have improved. The staff deliver a high standard of care and from my observations are always friendly, polite and professional. From time to time my father can be demanding but the staff manage any mood swings with good humour.
I live some distance from Market Harborough so it is important that I have confidence that my father is receiving excellent care.

My father is not well enough to take part in many activities so am unable to comment on them.
