Peaker Park Care Village opened the 2nd June 2011. A newly-built and commissioned care village - 137 beds in all, configured in three separate care facilities. The care village is multi-registered to accept clients with many and varied care needs from the age of eighteen years and upwards, to include clients requireing care because of old age, frailty, and/or dementia, a physical or mental disability and/or a sensory impairment. The care village is registered to deliver care to residential/nursing and Continuing Health Care Clients, and also boasts accommodation for clients who wish to retain independence in their own apartment style of accommodation.

My mother was in Mulbury House Peaker Park for a total of five and a half weeks under a caring, dedicated team receiving palliative care. Their care and that off Peaker Park was totally professional and at the same time individual. Giving and going beyond duty of care. They also nurtured us the family
with such dignity. I cannot express my feelings of gratitude enough. You all made my mother's end of life care so calm and loving. Thank you all.

My mum sadly died in Peaker Park in December after over 4 years of being a resident. For the support I received getting her a place and the consistently high standard of care she received throughout her stay, I am truly grateful.
The staff are dementia trained to a high standard showing a genuine interest
from all staff, including management of the home, to provide the most appropriate care possible. I always heard the care staff speaking to the residents, including my mum, with the utmost respect and patience. I was also kept fully informed of any issues regarding Mum's well-being which was very reassuring.
I wish to thank the staff, both past and present, for all their hard work.

I can recommend Peaker Park wholeheartedly if you are looking for a caring, professional home for a person with Alzheimer's. My mother has been a resident for 5 years and recently had end-of-life care there. I am full of praise for the care my mother received and the treatment we were given at this
time from carers to office staff alike. My sincere thanks goes out to them all. I shall miss my visits there and will always recommend them on every possible occasion in the future.

My father has been in Melody Court for three months, initially admitted from hospital for assessment. During this time his physical and mental health have improved. The staff deliver a high standard of care and from my observations are always friendly, polite and professional. From time to time my father
can be demanding but the staff manage any mood swings with good humour.
I live some distance from Market Harborough so it is important that I have confidence that my father is receiving excellent care.
My father is not well enough to take part in many activities so am unable to comment on them.

My stepfather and I arrived at Peaker Park on 12th February. My stepfather was terminally ill with lung cancer. Staff all made us very welcome. He received first class care from the outset until his death on 2nd March.
Staff were loving and attentive to him and the family and very understanding to/of
us all, particularly on the day of his death. We always knew he would not be at Peaker Park for very long, but were so pleased with the relationships he built up in the short time he was there.

My mother spent her last few months at Peaker Park on the Bowden Unit. The palliative, social care was excellent and the carers and nurses were magnificent with my mother whose mental health was sometimes very challenging, plus her deteriorating head wound needed professional care also, which was catered
for fantastically. The staff are truly caring to the residents and are very kind and thoughtful and treated my mother with the utmost dignity. Finally, after moving from 3 care/nursing homes we found Peaker Park.

Sadly my mother wasn't in Peaker Park for long as her condition quickly deteriorated. She needed total nursing care. All staff without exception, treated, not only my mother but myself and family members with the utmost respect and consideration. Their loving care for my mother went above and beyond

My Mum has been looked after by the staff as if she were their own.
The home is friendly and welcoming.
The manager's door is always open and she is very responsive.
The residents look happy and visitors are made to feel at home.
Some families are always looking to complain and draw us into debates
about food but the food here is lovely. I often eat with Mum and find the dining experience pleasant. Not all likes can be catered for but the staff try. Mum was in a home before that didn’t offer choice or hot puddings and these offer 2 choices of meal and pudding.
Relatives can come and go whenever they like and the staff are marvellous.

The care provided by carers is excellent. There are ongoing issues with meals and laundry that the management seem unable to address and resolve. We do all of the laundry for my mother because detergent used gives her a rash and everything sent to the laundry is lost, even when clearly marked. The laundry
service is not fit for purpose. The food is not good, meal planning is poor and the choices offered are not well thought out (eg doughnuts and custard for dessert, sausages on two days out of three). Menus are not published to residents in advance and we sometimes have difficulty finding foods that are appetising and that my Mother can eat.

My mother was at Peaker Parker Care Village for two years. Some of the staff there were truly outstanding and staff continuity was pretty good over the period. Her room was large, light and airy. Her main complaint was the food, which she never really enjoyed, despite the menu being varied and the carers
trying to accommodate her preferences. The best thing about the home was the close relationship she developed with her principal carers.
