Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home is a purpose built, 56-bedroom home, committed to the highest standards of care and service, within a friendly and happy family run home. The home is rated Outstanding in caring and Good Overall by CQC (April 2022).

The aim is to provide the highest level of care in a dignified and compassionate way, with the best facilities and equipment in a comfortable home with trained experienced staff. There is a full and diverse activities programme for the residents put on throughout the home, providing many opportunities to socialise, participate and pursue their own interests. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped gardens and courtyards planted with year-round colour which are accessed by level, flat paths.

Qualified nurses and trained carers try and improve the quality of life for those who have chosen to live at the home. The approach is not one routine fits all, but rather a more personal care plan that makes allowances for the individuals' needs and concerns. The residents are at the centre of the home helping to create the Chef's menu's and choosing the activities programme. Everyone at Hill House wants the residents to be well cared for, happy and enjoy living at Hill House.

My mum has been with Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home a couple of weeks now and words cannot fully convey how delighted I am with the care she is receiving. I wished I had been able to move her in sooner, as I hadn’t realised exactly how much difference it would make. She is now smiling, developing
her confidence day by day and is being stimulated so well by the amazing daily activities planned. The nursing care is also exceptional and in less than a month she’s been reviewed by the optician, dietician and physiotherapist! The staff are amazing, so kind and they genuinely care. It’s taken a huge worry off my shoulders to know she’s well looked after now.
We’ve spent lots of time in the garden (which she adores) and to receive the fortnightly email updates and photos of things she’s been up to, fills me with such joy. It’s also really helpful as I can now talk about the activities with her as she’s patchy in her memory! I could not recommend Hill House more highly.

I was very happy with the care provided to my Mum during her respite care. The staff were always willing to help, they made sure they understood my mum's needs. There always seemed to be activities available to entertain her and she very, very content.

My husband was in Hill House Care Home for only three weeks but he received excellent care and compassion and love from every member of staff.
When his health deteriorated the care he received was excellent and the care that my family and I received was so much more than we expected.

My sister came to Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home because she needed more care than was available in her residential home.
We were immediately impressed by everything. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were always caring, efficient and good-humoured.
Interesting entertainment and
activities were laid on for the residents and the staff encouraged them to participate which served to improve their well-being.
When my sister was nearing the end, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and caring and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was so approachable, I was overwhelmed by the kindness shown to us.
When I returned to see everyone after an absence of five months, my niece and I were greeted enthusiastically by the staff who made us so welcome.
It is a testament to the quality, professionalism and happy conditions at Hill House that most of the staff were the same as the ones who looked after my dear sister.
My very grateful thanks to the very approachable management and staff.

My father is extremely well looked after. The staff are very friendly and very caring. His room and his bed are always tidy and he is made to be comfortable whether in bed or in the chair. I have never had to worry about the care my father gets in Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home. I have full trust
in the staff that they treat my father with compassion and dignity.

This is the 3rd home in a group of homes that my dad has been in. He moved through the homes as his needs changed and his dementia got worse. Dad's care has been second to none. The team who looked after him were always positive with him and us, caring and attentive. Dad was always happy, clean and
shaved, very well fed and always well-dressed. The environment of the home is 1st class with great facilities and is incredibly clean and well maintained. The management of the home is accessible and approachable and all the staff care.
Dad spent the last couple of years at the home before he passed away and I have not one bad thing to say, only thing good things. I was happy that he finished days loved and cared for and the last 2 or 3 days of his life, the team at the home could not have done more for him and the family. I would say simply that you can 100% trust the team at Hill House to look after your loved one.

My father moved to this incredibly well-run nursing home in early January.
He has advanced dementia and is being exceptionally well cared for.
All of the staff are incredibly kind and caring and extremely knowledgeable too.
I highly recommend this nursing home. This is the 3rd home he has lived
in and by far the very best indeed.

I came to Hil House to put on weight and be able to walk again and climb stairs after major surgery and six weeks in the hospital. I didn't know what to expect and was so pleased to have a lovely room and wet room to stay in. Every need I had was met with the loveliest, most friendly and most willing
staff. I had as much food as I could manage (my stomach had shrank) and expert medical care for the open wound and stoma was I left with after the surgery. Care was 24 hours, and any call was promptly answered. I was impressed with the number of staff available and the contact enquiries I received for my welfare and comfort. So much help was given to arrange my needs for when I left to go home. Equipment that I needed and visits from the district nurse so that I had peace of mind. During my three weeks stay, I can walk without aids and climb stairs, and I have gained 1/2 a stone in weight. I had a good rest in a very comfortable and secure surrounding with, most of all, kindness and understanding from all the staff. I wanted to have the chance to recover in my own time, and this is just what I have received at Hill House.

Everyone was very friendly and caring. My husband was happy and obviously well looked after. My only problem was being unable to visit every day and the covid restrictions which prevented anyone else from visiting. No fault of the home. I will certainly consider sending my husband again when necessary.

My mother was cared for in the last weeks of her life at Hill House.
I am so thankful to all the staff for the kindness and exemplary care that was given to my mum. (The staff also looked after me which was just so nice.)
In my short time of visiting Hill House the things that struck me were that
the staff were really professional, happy and motivated in their roles, and they worked well as a team.
My mum's room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. Throughout the building there are carefully chosen pictures which provide a calming interest.
One thing I liked about the layout, in general, was that reception was situated in a large day room for the residents which I felt gave a family feel to the whole setup.
I will always be grateful to the staff and management of Hill House.

My Aunt moved to Hill House in September following a dementia diagnosis and fall at home. The whole team have been extremely understanding in what was a difficult situation and I cannot thank them enough for taking such care with her particular needs. Communication is excellent - we are informed immediately
if there are any significant updates for my Aunt and as we live out of the area, we really appreciate this and the weekly newsletter which tells us about the many activities. In addition, there are monthly update emails specifically about my Aunt, which are very helpful. It is a huge relief to our family that Hill House were able to accommodate my Aunt and to know that she is being looked after in a safe and caring environment. I was very anxious about her going into care but I needn't have worried and would not hesitate to recommend Hill House.

The team at Hill House Nursing Home gave our mother exceptional care during her 9 months stay there. We appreciate that it has been a difficult time with Covid and we were always immensely impressed with the way in which you worked with our Mothers deteriorating health with humour, humility and professionalism.
You not only understood and worked around our Mothers foibles, but latterly she became far more integrated and involved in the home and many of the activities. This directly led to a massive improvement in her general well-being and happiness.
What the team do at Hill House is in many ways quite miraculous. Nobody wants to grow old and lose their faculties (in various ways) and it was all dealt with very graciously. Whilst our mother was only there for 9 months, we strongly believe that after a few months of adjusting, it was on balance probably the happiest she had been for a number of years.

Hill House is a homely place where my grandmother was a resident for many, many years. The care is second to none, Hill House has a real family feel rather than being just a care home! We all know older people who are set in their ways can be difficult, especially with dementia setting it in. You will
not find a lovelier place or staff to look after your loved one in their final years! Thank you to all the Hill House staff! Mum had a bumpy start at Hill House after the move from residential care due to her rapidly progressing illness. The team at Hill House worked with us to understand her unique needs and as a family, we have greatly appreciated this. We have at all times been consulted when medical input has been required
and receive regular updates. Care staff have shown incredible patience and kindness and for this, we are very grateful. We are reassured that Mum is now in a safe and caring environment.

Mum came into Hill House following two falls and two stays in the hospital, where we were recommended to find Nursing Care. It was a stressful time and we were fortunate after the recommendation, that Mum was comfortably accommodated at Hill House.
The Nursing and Care staff looked after Mum so well
in spite of her frailty and the complexities of Dementia and Alzheimers. Communication was excellent and we couldn't have asked for more care and support.

We have been delighted with the care and attention shown by Hill House. My mother moved to the home in December 2021 and has received love and attention on a 24/7 basis. Her condition is one which requires nursing care. Her communication ability is very limited. The nursing and care team have been extremely
understanding and she is clearly contented. We have no complaints whatsoever. From a family point of view, we are very happy with the home. The staff are particularly attentive and helpful - reassuringly, they do not 'sugar-coat' their advice. Daily activities are worth a special mention - all varied and focussed on providing maximum benefit to the residents. All family members receive a weekly newsletter containing photos of all the residents, clearly having a good time.

I cannot sing the praises of this nursing home enough.


While searching for somewhere for my father to live, I started to become a bit disillusioned and felt that all nursing care was pretty much the same.


On discovering Hill House, I soon realised that this was not the case. It was the only

place I found that didn't use agency staff so the continuity of care is exceptional. My father sees the same people every day rather than having a constantly changing stream of staff passing through. The staff make an enormous effort to get to know every resident and always welcome information from relatives that will help them enjoy their time there. If there are ever issues or concerns they are quickly addressed and dealt with. There are multiple activities daily and regular email updates. It's extremely welcoming and I would recommend it to anyone. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and incredible hard work.

A great home with lots of activities for the residents and plenty of care and support for both the social and health aspects. My mother-in-law has settled in very quickly and, at almost 98, appears to be thriving!

I can't fault the care that Hill House and Farnham Mill have provided to my father for the last few months. He has been going into the home regularly for respite care and has always been extremely accommodating to him. The communication between the home and myself has been outstanding and always keeps
me and the rest of my family in the loop. They have also been extremely careful with Covid precautions.

I left the NHS where I was Ward Manager of an elderly care unit at the Royal Free Hospital when I assumed control of Woodlands & Hill Brow Ltd following my mother's retirement in 1998.


I am immensely proud of the standards of care we achieve and the family ethos and feel which runs through the heart of our homes.

I'm Steve, and I have the privilege of working as a Chef at Farnham Mill. It brings me immense joy to be part of a company that truly cares for its employees and fosters a supportive atmosphere. The management team is exceptional, always putting the well-being of both the residents and staff at the forefront.


One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is preparing meals for our residents. I make it a point to engage with each person individually, learning about their favourite foods and drinks. Their happiness is my priority, creating wholesome, delicious, and nutritious meals that they genuinely enjoy.


In addition to my kitchen duties, I also manage the chefs' table and cooking club at both Farnham Mill and Hill House. It’s my passion to encourage our residents to explore their culinary skills and creativity, ensuring that we keep that spirit alive together.
