Willow Gardens

My mother has been a resident at Willow Gardens for more than three years. She has suffered from dementia but the staff at Willow Gardens have helped her enjoy the last few years of her life in a supportive and caring environment. One of the younger carers, from a very different background to Mum, talked movingly of her friendship with mum, and many other members of staff have also spoken fondly of their relationship with mum and humorous conversations.

The excellent leadership of the care home manager seems to bring out the best in the staff, who all seem to enjoy working here. Willow Gardens' approach during the Covid pandemic showed exemplary practice, combining safety with accessibility.

During the last week of mum's life, my wife and I also felt cared for as we stayed by her side. We knew that mum was not only cared for but loved - and that can only come from a culture which brings out the best in staff. I highly recommend Willow Gardens and am deeply grateful for the care they took of my mother.

My 97-year-old mother has been a resident in the care home for almost a year. She now has a lovely en-suite room with a bay window where she can sit and look out at the garden and the woods beyond. The food is good and plentiful. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are daily activities and often visiting entertainers. My mother is very a very happy resident which makes her family happy too.

Additionally - the meals are "just like being at your own family".

Our Dad moved to Willow Gardens in February 2023 and our key objective was to ensure he was safe and happy. We can safely say that we are beyond delighted with the move as the constant worry we had about his health and wellbeing has been totally removed. He loves his 'ladies in lavender' who are there to support him as one of their family 24 hours a day. There is a wonderful atmosphere about the place which is a testament to the manager and her very loyal team, most of whom have been working with her for a number of years. Dad is stimulated every day with lots of different activities which he is actively encouraged to join in with; he particularly enjoys the singing! The quality of the food is of a very high standard and he really enjoys his meals. The relationship they have with the Doctor's surgery is incredible and the follow up to keep us informed takes all the worry away. On balance this Care Home is everything we could wish for as Dad is very safe and very very happy.

I looked at loads of care homes and eventually decided on Willow Gardens for Mum. I have agonised about many things regarding Mum and her illness, but never once regretted choosing Willow Gardens. The staff are amazing, I could not have wished for a better group of carers to look after Mum.

Mum came to Willow Gardens for respite and immediately felt at home, feeling safe and welcome. The staff looked after her, helping her to regain lost mobility until a sudden relapse changed the nature of her stay to palliative. The dignity and calmness of Mums final hours created by the staff and our family allowed Mums passing to be so extraordinarily peaceful. Thank you.

Mum has been in Willow Gardens for 18 months now and is very settled there. The staff are all wonderful, friendly and professional. It gives us peace of mind that she is very well cared for. Food always smells delicious, and Mum has no complaints. There are plenty of activities for those who wish to join in, but if they wish not to, that is fine too. It's great to see the little dog Sunny running around too.

My dad came to Willow Gardens for respite care but became a permanent resident. He loved the team, always having a laugh and a joke at every opportunity. As a family, we could clearly see he was receiving the best care from a team who got to know him. Sadly he passed away in January. He continued to receive quality care right up to the end and for that, we are grateful. Would absolutely recommend Willow Gardens.

Moving our mother into a care home was a worrying, stressful time, especially as let down by another facility. The team at Willow Gardens, from the first contact, supported us with care and understanding at every stage, making this a positive experience. The staff are caring, and patient and very much seem to understand the needs of those with dementia and the impact on the family. Knowing our mother is in safe, caring hands in a stimulating homely environment is such a relief.

My mother's care here has been exemplary. They are all very patient and caring. My mother loves to see the manager's dog. My father has died very recently and they are all giving her the attention and love she needs. Fully recommend this home.

I came here for respite care and safety following a fall and dislocation of a hip joint. My family would be away for two weeks of my care. The care was good. Staff abilities, understanding and willingness are varied. The food generally was good. Dietary requirements are catered to fairly well. Help with personal care generally was good.

My dad was a resident at Willow Gardens. He sadly passed away last December and the staff were just so incredibly kind and supportive, in addition to going overboard to provide the care he needed at the end. My mum has also been a resident since August 2021 and to be honest, it wasn’t easy to get her to accept the move into a care home. The patience, warmth and smiles of the staff have meant that she is happily settled, enjoying and participating in the various activities of which there are many. Once again, I can only say an enormous thank you to you all, and, if one day, I need a care home myself, I’d like it to be here!

My mother came to Willow Gardens for a month's respite care but is now a permanent resident as she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It is a lovely care home with spacious rooms which are light and airy. There are always activities in progress when I visit and the staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I highly recommend Willow Gardens.

The difficult decision to put our loved one into a care home was made so much easier by the kindness, courtesy and professionalism shown to us all as a family. We would rate Willow Gardens as excellent in every department.

My 94-year-old father needed two weeks of respite care after a couple of weeks in hospital. The staff at Willow Gardens were very helpful and accommodating and gave him very good care for his short stay. They took the time to listen to him and treated him with dignity and kindness.

My wife needs care and medication as she has Parkinson's. Her needs are well cared for by Willow Gardens.

We as a family have been very happy with the care Willow Gardens has provided for my father. The staff have been nice and friendly and very approachable. We have been well informed/updated regarding Dad's health etc. The home is well run, clean and with a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend Willow Gardens.
