I cannot praise the home and staff more highly for their fantastic treatment of my sister during her last weeks. Their care and compassion towards her and her many visitors has been second to none. Sadly she passed on the 16th of June 2024 and that also was dealt with dignity and respect.

My experience of the home is a good one. I found my brother had been taken good care of and all the staff very good and kind to him with all his needs. Nothing was not too much trouble. And the owners are very nice people. He has a very nice room in a very nice and well-run home.

Since my uncle has been at Ramsey, I have seen a vast improvement in his mood. He is cheerful and is now coming out of his room to socialise with staff and residents. The staff here are lovely and friendly. The only quibble that I have is visiting times are a very small window (2 hours) in the afternoon, which makes this somewhat difficult for me as I work, but this is a personal issue. Would be easier to have at least two options to visit.

My experience with Ramsey Step Down and Care Centre was a bit stormy to start with. This storm was a bit hard for me to start with but I found if I treated the staff with respect they would respond to that and treat me with respect.

Review from Katie S (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 2 August 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The care home treated my grandad with so much dignity and care in his final days, but they did not just care for him; they were amazing to every one of us. We were treated like family of the home. Noting was too much trouble for the team. Every member of the team was amazing and friendly and cared so much; they kept us informed every step of the way. If the end has to come, it is here you would want it to happen, with people who care.

Review from Gaye T (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 June 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother had always been resistant to the thought of being in care, so it was a very difficult time when she needed full time care. The process was made so much easier by the staff. They have been very kind to my mother, and have communicated well with me, and I feel free to contact them at any time. We have been able to make her room homely by bringing in some of her ‘treasures’, and making it feel more familiar for her. I feel that she is treated as an individual there, which is important for her well-being. Having taken up residence there during Covid, activities etc weren’t as the staff would like, but they are recommencing now, and I feel positive about the future for my mother there.

My mother spent her final two months at the Care Centre. The staff were excellent and I was very happy with the level of care she received. The Centre is very professionally run by an excellent team. All the staff were very patient and kind to my mother at all times. I was glad that she was able to spend her final days in a secure warm and friendly environment. I would recommend the Care Centre to anyone
