Roborough House Care Home

from T S (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 June 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
In the early days of my mums care, we had some serious concerns about the standard of care at Roborough House, and it was a very difficult time for our family. However, since the appointment of the new manager the home has undergone a truly remarkable transformation.

The manager leadership has been

nothing short of outstanding. She is approachable, professional, and clearly committed to improving every aspect of the home. There has been a real shift in atmosphere - staff morale is higher, communication has improved greatly, and most importantly, the residents are visibly happier and better cared for.

The changes that have taken place under her management have made a huge difference. The home now feels safe, welcoming, and well-run. We felt confident and reassured knowing our loved one was in such capable and caring hands.

We are very grateful for the positive improvements and believe the manager and her team deserve full credit for turning things around.

I can't praise this home enough. Every member of staff no matter what their job, is caring, helpful, kind, and supportive. My husband has been cared for here for several months. He passed away recently and was treated with care and utmost dignity. They made his final months comfortable and as fulfilling
as positive. They also cared for every family member. I will always be extremely grateful to everyone involved at the home.

Lovely care home, wonderful support from all carers but especially from the fabulous nurses. My mother was not an easy resident but the patience and care given was second to none. Visiting my mother was very easy and myself and the rest of the family were always welcome to visit whenever we liked.

Poplars

My mum started staying at Poplars in April 2023. I’d heard horror stories about nursing homes, but what can I say, Poplars is fantastic, an amazing and caring ‘bunch’ of staff set in gorgeous countryside. It may not be the ‘super modern’ nursing home but what it does offer is a homely relaxed calm safe
environment, a home from home really. You can visit whenever you want and the staff make you feel like ‘one of the family’! My mum unfortunately ended her life here and during that ‘end of life’ period they were incredible! I would not hesitate to recommend residential care here in fact I’m putting my name down for when I need it! Thank you to the manager and her amazing team!

I would like to say a big thank you to the manager and all the staff for taking such good care of my sister. You all make me feel welcome, my sister's care is amazing, she is happy she sees this as her home, staff are very caring and always have time, thank you again.

Since my mum has been a resident, I am very impressed with the care she is getting and the entertainment is excellent.
The staff are fabulous, very helpful and very friendly. I am at ease knowing she is being well looked after. She could not be in a better place.
