The staff here are great, I feel safe leaving my mum, knowing that she is well cared for. The activities co-ordinator has made a real effort to get to know mum and eng,age her so she isn't just stuck in a chair all day. The resident cat is also a big hit with mum who loves having a furry, purry friend
to sit and stroke. The difference compared to the previous home mum was is in massive and it is such a relief to have found Westwood Court.
Reply from Kelly Evanson, Office Manager at Westwood CourtThank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are glad that you feel happy to leave your Mum in our care and so pleased that she has made friends with the cat .

Mum came to Woodcote the end of July 2025, on the day of our visit we turned up unannounced just like we had done to 3 other homes that day, I knew straight away this was where I wanted her to be, from day one the care, the friendliness, the atmosphere and the professionalism from all is amazing, I
visit mum regularly and I'm always made to feel welcome and I'm always offered a cup of coffee and have a chat with staff , we enjoy our visits as a family, due to moms dementia she has good days and bad days but I know even on the bad days mum gets the support she needs. Nothing is to much trouble, the care team are brilliant and friendly, they have regular activity days which the resident thoroughly enjoy , also an activity room , decorate cakes, nail painting this list is endless. I like the fact they celebrate every season and festival and make a lot of effort throughout the home, it always looks so nice. I take cakes in every weekend just to show our appreciation as a family. Well done

Very friendly and helpful staff. I visit my friend 2/3 times a month and go into the lounge. There is always something going on, loads of activities, and whenever I visit, the facilities I have seen are clean. I would recommend Westwood Court if asked to do so.

Fantastic arrangements for all the residents & their families to get involved in. The staff work very hard to make things inclusive for all. Superbly decorated for the festive season. Loads of different shows, singers, entertainments and even a table top festive market for the residents to do their
festive shopping. All in all a truly friendly environment.
The diligence of the staff is excellent.

My wife has been a resident for 2 years. The favourable impression that my family and I experienced when choosing the home has been more than validated. There is an attitude that residents deserve kindness and respect at all times and this is observed by all members of staff. That the greatest possible
care is taken for the health, safety and welfare of residents is paramount. In the 2 years that I have been a daily visitor I have never witnessed an unkind act or comment and I am constantly amazed by the cheerfulness, willingness and kindness I observe. Every aspect of each resident's life is constantly monitored from the food they eat to their mental health and quality of life.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, Manager at Westwood CourtThank you, Peter, for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review of Westwood Court Nursing Home. We are truly grateful for your kind words and for the trust you and your family have placed in us over the past two years. Your recognition of our teams kindness, cheerfulness, and commitment to treating every resident with dignity and respect means a great deal to us. It is especially reassuring to hear that you feel confident in the care, safety, and overall wellbeing of your wife. Thank you for your continued supportit is a privilege to care for her and our residents every day.

My mum has been in Westwood Court for almost 3 years.
I am happy with the fact that the home has an 'open door' policy and I am able to visit at anytime.
Mum seems settled and happy most times I see her and I feel she is generally well cared for. I appreciate that mum is incontinent. However there
are times when she doesn't smell clean even when she has been changed. Her cleanliness including her nails and her hair could be improved.
On most visits I tidy her wardrobe, hang clothes properly and tidy drawers, only to find them messy and disorganised on my next visit.
Communication is good and I am notified quickly if there are any issues with mum. I appreciate the pictures that are posted on social media or sent directly to me as it gives me an insight into mum's days when I am unable to visit.
Overall, I am happy with the service the home provides and appreciate the care that your employees give to the residents. I feel I am listened to when I raise concerns.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, Manager at Westwood CourtThank you, Jo, for your thoughtful review and continued trust in Westwood Court. It was lovely to see you at the relatives' meeting on the 27th and hear your positive feedback about your mum's nutrition. We're pleased the food is "very nutritious", that she clears her plate, has gained a little weight, and looks happier. We're glad you value our open-door approach, communication about her care and GP involvement, and the photos showing her enjoying activities, especially music. Feedback on wardrobes and drawers has been shared with our laundry team, and your mum continues to enjoy regular pamper sessions, including nails painted in her favourite bright colours. Staff will continue to monitor her nails to ensure they remain clean and well cared for. Thank you again - we're pleased you feel listened to and supported Kind regards, The Team at Westwood Court

The team at Westwood court were great in the care for my mum who had vascular dementia, they made everyday life easier for us knowing that she was being looked after properly. We are also eternally grateful for the care they gave my dad who visited everyday, they made sure that he was doing okay and
supplied him with a meal every lunchtime ensuring that he had at least one hot meal a day.
The nursing team would make sure that we were aware of any changes to mum's care and would always make us feel welcome when we would visit.

My dad has been well cared for. He is clean and seems comfortable and settled. Information regarding him is relayed well and there is no problem in asking questions to staff.
Activities are delivered to residents on a daily basis by friendly and approachable staff. These are thought through and staff
try to provide a variety to appeal to interests and needs of clients. My dad enjoys the events that include singers and has had sessions meeting ponies and dogs .
My only negative is that I would like my dad to be up more to experience more social interaction with others in the lounge. Even though communication is hard he still likes to watch what is going on.
Reply from Nicky Vaughan, Manager at Westwood CourtThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. My mother has been in Westwood Court for over 2 years and I cannot fault the care and attention she receives from all the staff. We were forced by my mum's previous care home to move her and chose Westwood Court and we couldn't have been more pleased as a result. Previously my mum was forced to wait
to be taken to the toilet, often 20 mins, in Westwood Court it's only about 2 mins. Carers are a plentiful in the lounge, many on 1-2-1 with the residents, again not what we experienced by the previous home. Activities and entertainment are plentiful and cater for patience different needs. My mum unfortunately has dementia but at Westwood Court she has the best life possible.
Westwood also cared for my father from April 25 to Dec 25 when he sadly passed.
I would and do regularly recommend Westwood Court to anyone needing to place a loved one into a care home.

Providing responsive, compassionate care - especially for those living with dementia - is central to everything we do. We were also honoured to have cared for your father during his time with us and are very sorry for your loss. It was truly lovely to support both your mum and dad here at Westwood Court. Thank you for your trust and for recommending us to others - feedback like yours is incredibly meaningful to our whole team. The Westwood Court Team

My wife has many COMPLEX PROBLEMS and we needed a Care Facility after spending 13 MONTHS in and out of Hospital. We were given a few Options to choose from and the LOCATION to be with her , a Place to meet all her needs , and Care to be CONFIDENT WITH all these Ingredients, were required .
The
Care Home ROYAL PARK is immaculately Clean , Staff very reassuring , Secure and Safe , Parking a delight .
My wife after just a few weeks changed and is more RELAXED , AND IS GETTING BETTER although a long way to go yet , a long way . We are CONFIDENT for her stay here till things Improve within herself .
I have visited every day and watched my wife improve as we go along , such a change from being HOSPITALIZED .
I have looked at other Care Homes and I KNOW i have CHOSEN WELL and would thoroughly Recommend this particular Care Home to anyone with the COMPLEX NEEDS of my wife .

The care home in which our mother is a resident is overall very good. (Our mother has Dementia) The reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that, although our mother can he difficult, our gripe is with her hearing aids. At times when we visit, she hasn't got them in, and times like when I went to visit
her yesterday, she did have them in, but they weren't switched on. Another small gripe is that some of her clothes go missing only for us to see other residents wearing them, even though her name and room number is inside the garments/shoes.
Reply from Natalie Lamoon, Registered Manager at Riverlea HouseThank you very much for your feedback and for bringing these concerns to light. We have invested in sensory training and 1-1 training sessions for the hearing aids, as some are not clear and different to generic aids often in use. We, of course, can not force anyone to wear an aid, but are committed to finding a non-distressing way to manage this area. Our laundry team are dedicated to resolving any mishaps, and we will be investing in clear, sewn in name tags to prevent the spread of ink / deforming numbers in a dignified manner to prevent re-occurrence of missing items.
