The Lodge

from Kris S (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

We moved our father to the Lodge because he needs nursing care. His dementia is too advanced for a full-time live in carer. He has been there for 8 months. He settled quickly and I was encouraged to do whatever I wanted to support him - which was visit frequently. They are very caring and very client-centred.
They take the view that this is his home and he should be free to move about as he wants. If there is an issue - they look for solutions that solve the issue in the kindest possible way and listen to any suggestions we have.
It has been a huge relief to us to know that he is safe, surrounded by kind people and wee-cared for. He is content - for which we are very grateful. A GP visits every week and if he needs treatment they call me straightaway. It feels as if we are in genuine partnership dedicated to his well-being.

Fantastic care home, staff are brilliant, I was wary of care homes as you hear bad stuff in general, but from day one they went above & beyond for everything that we asked for, thank you all so much for the care of my uncle.

My mum had recently had a stroke and heart failure and was not well enough to go home post a hospital stay. The staff have gone above and beyond to improve mum's health and well being following this long stay in hospital. Nothing is too much trouble and they really " care" about all of their residents.
The warmth and professionalism of the staff is just amazing, we have really seen an improvement in mum's health whilst she was there. The facilities and care are good and I would highly recommend.

My dad has dementia, and he is being wonderfully cared for in the Lodge. The staff are extremely kind and very flexible, ensuring that dad feels at home. The food is excellent, and the activity coordinators do a very good job of ensuring that the residents have a wide variety of things to do. The home
has a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Wantsum Lodge

from Sue A (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

From the moment Mum was assessed at home before moving to Wantsum, I knew we were in safe hands. On the day we arrived, we were met by staff and we were welcomed into the Wantsum family. Every aspect is exceptional - everywhere is clean and looked after, the food is delicious, the activities are varied
and appealing - from bingo, craft, sinagalongs with live music to following duck eggs as they hatch, watching the ducklings grow. There is always a happy, fun atmosphere with residents and visitors included. The staff respect the family's wishes and involved us in decisions about all aspects of Mum's care. Every member of staff goes out of their way to provide the best care - the carers, cleaning, catering, management and maintenance. It is incredible that so wonderful people are assembled in one place. We could not have wished for better care for Mum.

Reply from Tracy Clements, Manager at Wantsum Lodge

Thank you for those kind words, it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all and especially looking after mum who was unique and a strong character who will be sadly missed by us all.

My mother (88) came here after the hospital advice. She is unable to walk and has many health complications. The care here is tremendous. Overall the staff are very friendly, always cheerful and kind. It is the kindness that shines above all else in this home. It is a happy place and all the residents
are relaxed, forming a wonderful home-like relationship with carers, nurses and admin staff. There is always some activity happening. We can visit whenever we like and the home is always clean - a tea trolley always doing the rounds.

My relative was in prime care for just under a year until unfortunately he passed away. I would to thank all of the carers and staff at Prime Care. They were very kind and provided excellent care. Communication was very efficient. I highly recommend. He was always telling me how happy he was there and
how kind all of the staff were. If you are looking at care homes please go and visit Prime Care as you will be pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

Island Court Care Home

from Caroline C (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Where can I start? My mother was moved from hospital to island court for paliative care in the last few days of her life. 17/5/25 -22/5/25.
The home was very clean and smelt clean. The room for my mother was lovely and had its own ensuit.
The care given to my mother was exceptional and even
the care and friendliness to my father and myself was outstanding. The staff work hard and the care was well above standards.
After my mum had passed away the staff were so lovely to us and even gave me a hug something you definately need after going through a trauma.
Everyone of the people needs to be reminded of how brilliant they are. Very many thanks for making my mothers last few days so comfortable and helping us through it especially the care given to my dad too who isn't a well man.
Thank you so so much.

After looking into care homes for my mum I stumbled across this wonderful place.
Mum has been here since April 25 and settled in so much better than I could have ever expected.
The staff that work here are kind, caring and compassionate always happy to talk to mum when needed or have a laugh with
her.
Her room is lovely and I've been invited to join in with activities if visiting at the time.
Offered a cuppa if the tea trolleys doing the rounds.
It's as near to home as you could find in a care setting.
Thank you for everything you do for mum! Keep up the great work.

Primecare

from K M (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 3 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother in law spent her last few months at Primecare after months of hospital and community care . From the very first day of her arrival every member of staff, domestics ,kitchen, carers, seniors as well as management we're exceptionally welcoming. Nothing was to much trouble. The home on every
visit, which was daily, was always extremely clean. All staff were nothing less than exceptional with the standard of care delivered, not just to my mother in law but all the residents. I would often hear interaction between the residents and staff which was consistently respectful, compassionate and person centred. The staff were always very open and informative ,keeping us informed every step of the way . As a family we feel so grateful to each and every member of staff for the wonderful care delivered to my mother in law every day until the end. Thank you all for everything . We as a family can honestly say that standard of care is second to none . Thankyou Primecare .

Greenleigh Care Home

from R P (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum was placed in Greenleigh straight from hospital after she had another fall. We realised as a family she was no longer able to live at home with dad and interim carers and needed 24 hour care. This was a really hard decision for all of us especially Mum. The staff at Greenleigh were really welcoming
from the start. They welcomed us to have lunch with mum when we visited but also made dad feel relaxed when he visited. She was only at the home for just over a month and we have now moved her to one closer to dad and other family members. Our thanks to the team and the care they provided. The staff were always warm and cheerful and are passionate about the care they provide. Thank you.

Beech Tree

from M M (Mother of Resident) published on 4 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My son developed Alzheimer's disease at the age of 46. He could no longer cope at home. After 6 months in a beautiful but unsuitable large care home we realised he needed alternative care. He was bewildered and frustrated. Finding Beech Tree care home, homely smaller with very caring staff has taken
a huge weight off our shoulders, more importantly my son is understood and loved. His sense of humour and innate good natured are nurtured. The other residents have taken him into their hearts. As this cruel disease progresses, we feel he is in the right place and feels at home. We can visit more frequently.

Thank you does not cover the gratitude we feel towards the staff. From day one they have been outstanding in the care, friendly and professional manner they conduct their selves. Nothing was too much trouble and they all went above and beyond to ensure the holistic care was delivered respectfully. The
staff were able to apply the care required at a level and pace that was needed by the resident for that particular day. They constantly assessed requirements and constantly kept us updated. They offered different skills and talents to make residents and visitors feel included, safe and entertained. Especially noticed by people whose relatives were being bed nursed. Staff constantly checked on relatives too. Quality of food was amazing. Every single member of staff had a special quality that enabled us to get through such a difficult time. We could become relatives again knowing our relative was getting quality care, which enabled us to feel secure we had made the right choice.
