My mum moved into Westlands Care home in August and she is very happy there. She tells me the food is great and the staff are really caring. There are activities on every day and she takes part in crafting, singing and cooking. Being at Westlands has definitely given her a better quality of life in
her latter years. The staff are always friendly when I go in and it gives me peace of mind knowing that they care about her.

We have been extremely pleased with every aspect of my husband's care; he has company in the apartment he shares and the staff make every effort to encourage his interest in sport and films. Our family and friends are made welcome too. Staff make sure his Parkinsons's medication is given on time and
minimise his falls by constant vigilance. The general atmosphere is good and the staff are obviously happy working for WCS. Meals are nutritious and it is good that residents can choose from an extensive menu.

Myself and my wife felt very welcome every time we visited. Also the facial recognition on the entry door made it much easier for us to visit at whatever time of the day we wanted.
The reception area was also welcoming with it's great cafe vibe, where we got to meet other residents and their families.
We both felt that he was very well looked after and he was at ease with all the staff and the care he was being given.

Dewar Close

from Susan R (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both of my parents became residents at Dewar Close a year ago. The staff are all very kind, friendly and supportive and the care that they have received has been excellent. Whenever I have visited, everywhere is always warm, tidy and spotlessly clean. They had separate rooms across the corridor from
one another so it was easy for Mum to look in on Dad as he became more frail. Sadly my father died two months ago but the care that he received in his final few months, despite being in bed for most of the time, was exemplary. We were all very grateful that he was able to remain at Dewar Close until the end and the staff showed considerable kindness and support not only to my Mum but the family as a whole during this difficult time. Mum continues to live here and is very happy with everything. She frequently tells me that 'everyone is very kind, they look after me very well and the food is very good'. She particularly enjoys the music on a Monday and the church service on Wednesday.

My mum was adamant that she did not want to go in to a care home but thankfully we persuaded her to have a look around Dewar Close. From the minute we entered the building the staff welcomed her and were so friendly that she agreed to go in the home.
Two weeks on she has settled in nicely at her own
pace. The staff are wonderful, friendly and caring. The home is clean and tidy and she is enjoying the food. The family now have peace of mind that my mum is now safe and very well cared for.
The staff are a lovely team and a credit to the care home

My husband and I live in South Devon so we are unable to visit our cousin as often as we would like or join in any of the lovely activities offered by Sycamores care home.
When we last visited the friendly atmosphere and welcome at the home is always present.
I am sure our cousin enjoyed the fireworks
and the bonfire party Thank you to all.
Care of the elderly is a very hard demanding job it takes a lot of love, care and dedication which I have witnessed and felt on our visits there.
Thank you again to the manager and all the amazing staff at Sycamore's Leamington Spa. You are all much appreciated.

I am extremely likely to recommend to family and friends. My experience has been a pleasure to date. The room I have is clean and tidy with staff attending on a regular basis re furnishing and fitments. Incidentally I have spent many years as a finance manager in the care industry and so have experience
as to how the system works. Looking at the ratings I choose to tick Good over areas.

Since my brother has been residing at Newlands Care home, his family have noticed how much happier he seems. Every visit, the staff have been so welcoming towards us. They clearly care !!
I like that the entire area is on one level so the residente in wheelchairs have freedom to move around the home.
My brother is able to freely go out if he wishes and also the home has a resident minibus which enables them to take people to shows or events.
Thankyou to all the staff for doing such a wonderful job x

My Dad has been in Sycamores for over 2 years now. The staff are very friendly and caring and professional in their roles of jobs. The upmost respect is given to him always, his needs and emotions are always looked after. They organise trips and weekly events which he goes to quite often although not
as often as he used to , however is encouraged to participate in events but not forced. Everyone is so caring and kind and always make time in their busy days to talk and have a joke or two to him. The food , drinks and snacks are plentiful, lovely clean rooms and living spaces. His every need is adhered to even down to haircut, shave, and clean clothes always. The staff are very informative to us as a family always also. Highly recommended the Sycamores as a care home for your loved one

Arriving for respite, and intending this kind of future use. Being shown over other hoems within the group - visiting friends over years. Some so basic some 5 star hotel status. My care was care with love & attention. On recovery I planned my exit, but became ill again. They really cared. I could have
full time care at home, which we previously arranged or Castle Brook, ( I was not being able to walk as usual) Castle Brook does it all admirably.

Drovers has recently had a new manager he's made a real difference, the home seems more welcoming and jolly since he took over.
The whole team are very caring and listen carefully to any issues and act promptly to resolve things.
One of the carers has recently been standing in as a receptionist and
has done a great job, the team at Drovers really seem to pull together when they need to. There's a great sense of camaraderie between the staff, many of whom have been there many years, this makes for a much nicer atmosphere for my mum, who has dementia, to live in.

I thoroughly recommend Castle Brook as a care home. The staff are always helpful and friendly in their approach. The care home is a very welcoming place to all who uses its service. Its what all care home should inspire to me, friendly, welcoming and above all very professional. Keep up the good work
Castle Brook.
