Saint Cecilia's Nursing Home

I just love that my mum is in such a safe environment. The staff are often very busy but they always make themselves available to help and support. From the reception and admin, carers and nurses, and right up to boots on the ground management, they always have the answers to my questions or if they
don't, they will find out. My mum is terminally ill, as her oncologist said to her in her monthly phone call today, her prognosis is "lay flat on the bed, drink plenty of fluids and take pain relief. This is heartbreaking for both my mum and me but I feel happy enough, knowing she is in St Cecilias as everyone I have had an experience with seems to do their job from a patient centred place and seem to be making my mums final dance, as stress free for both her and myself as could possibly be. Mums room isn't the best as it is so small, it is like a box room but I believe they would move her if we requested and another room was available. Thank you to all staff for looking after my best mate

My father went to Saint Cecilia's Care Home when other care homes in the Scarborough area were unwilling to meet his increasingly complex needs as a consequence of Alzheimer's dementia. My family owe them a great debt of gratitude for this and for so much more. They were immensely kind, warm and welcoming
from the moment he arrived and they continued to give him the very best kind of care and support until his death on Christmas Eve 2025. The whole of the staff there are certainly very professional but much more than that they are compassionate, humane and generous in all their dealings, both with the very fragile people in their care, with whom they are constantly engaged, and with their families. I have nothing but praise for them all, but especially for Angus who was so personally involved with my father's needs and who obviously cared very deeply for him, always doing his up most to ensure that he lived the best possible life until the very end. He's a hero, they all are.

Outstanding nursing home with a friendly, welcoming and highly professional staff. The home is in very good order in terms of its cleanliness, lightness and airiness.
My cousin Angela is very well looked after. She has been a resident in the home for over 11 years. She has cerebral palsy, and it not
only affects her physical movement, but she is unable to talk in a normal way. The staff do so much for her. It is very pleasing.

From the moment I entered the home I knew my friend Bernice was absolutely in the right place, just from the way I was greeted by Marie on Reception. She was so helpful and kind, understanding that it's not always easy to visit when one is anxious about how an older friend is.
I'd never have believed
that Marie had only been in post 2 weeks, as she told me.
Jane, (Nurse) who I met on my first visit, was as friendly and supportive as previously and as equally knowledgeable. Upstairs, in my friend's room( guided there all the way by Marie! Wow!) I met Daniella who's looking after B. A lovely young woman, so calm, so gentle&so efficient. She gently helped B from bed to sit with me&talk, ensuring we would be able to get a cuppa!(Brought up by fab Jola!) Daniella was happy to tell me how B's doing&re her eating (much improved ref the local hospital!)The room's nice, cosy, a great view.B can watch TV easily, which makes her V happy. I totally recommend this home to all. Thanks so much Maggie

Dad came to Jubilee with palliative end of life care. There was no doubt in our minds that he spent his last days in a safe, caring and empathetic place. His needs were met and the care was second to none. Every single person from management, carers, cleaners went above and beyond to make dad's stay
a welcomed one. We had peace of mind and he was happy.
Thank you for looking after Dad in his final days.xx

Both myself and family very impressed with the home in general. Always a genuine welcome from caring staff. All service users are treated with dignity care and support on all levels. Lovely menu and spotlessly clean in every area of the home. Very impressed particularly by carers reception, and manager
to ensure a complete personal profile put in place showing history, likes and dislikes. As a family we feel that this very vulnerable service user has at last been able to settled in a home, to be cared for with no future concerns. With thanks.

A lovely warm friendly atmosphere from both staff and patients, my father in law settled straight away and they made him feel safe and gave us peace of mind. The care he received was 100% from all involved from cleaners to management. Made us feel welcome and on his passing still cared and with genuine
sympathy.

The staff are lovely. Very friendly and caring. Particular mention goes to 5 ladies but all staff are wonderful. Its great to have the lady on board at the home providing entertainment. The staff excelled themselves with providing a wonderful party on Mother's Day. Only improvement I can think of is
more provision of activities please for residents on a weekend. Thank you.

I live a long way from where my grandmother lives and only visit every 18 months to 2 years. Whenever I visit, the staff recognise this and go above and beyond to make me/us welcome and ensure our family can visit together. The social media page is a fantastic link when I can't visit in person. My grandmother
always looks well cared for and happy.

I have found Saint Cecilia's to be a wonderful place. Mum settled in quite quickly and is still very happy and loves all the staff who have become her extra family. The home is always clean and comfortable and all residents are dressed well, always, also outings are available and they visit the famous
theatre for enjoyment as well as having people coming in to give entertainment in Saint Cecilia's home. The chefs are very good and often baked birthday cakes for each birthday that comes. I would recommend Saint Cecilia's highly!

It is great here. It is perfect for me. I really enjoy the food in here, I have never been given anything I don't like, and we are spoiled for choice with meal options. The Staff in here are very kind and very helpful. I have been to many hospitals and many places but nothing compares to here, it is
brilliant.

On the day I visited my mother with my family we were welcomed into a private room for lunch with her. Mum had been taking part in activities out in the sunshine before being brought in for lunch. The helpful and considerate staff introduced themselves with a friendly welcome and ensured my mother and
ourselves what we needed. On our visit a few days later this was repeated and again my mother was brought from an activity session to have time with us provided in the dining room on both occasions she was clean and well dressed, we able to drive home knowing she is well looked after.

When it became clear after my dementia diagnosis that I would need full time care we visited a number of care homes, the result for me was a clear decision that Alba Rose was the place for me. Two years down the line I am still pleased I chose Alba Rose.

What strikes me most about Alba Rose is the staff. Without exception I have found it to be helpful, patient and long-suffering however exacting my requests. My room is larger then I had expected and with the sloping roof attractive. The view incorporating trees, rockery and three sheep adds to my relaxation.
Although activities ratings is lower I do appreciate that with such disparity between patients, both physically and cognitively, this must involve a constant problem.

Everything is perfect about this home.
The staff are kind and caring, the activities for the residents are well organised and the introduction of birds and animals is a great idea. My husband visibly brightens when live animals are brought to him. Animals, especially cats, have always been a part
of our life together and we've never lived without them.
I also can't speak too highly about the staff. They treat my husband with care, laughter and respect and he loves everyone who cares for him. A very big thank you.
