My mother is in Northlands, the care is ok some staff are really good others no so. I feel she got really good care when she first went in but somethings are lacking. I think the home needs some decoration and looking tired. The staff needs to have more interaction with residents. Food is ok not always
hot, + nicely presented.

My mother was a previous resident at the Chesters, as was my aunt Irene, who died n December. My aunt Ivy is currently resident in the Chesters and at the age of 103 receives the best care possible. The staff in the Chesters are hard working and dedicated to the care of the residents. My family and
I really appreciate the effort made by staff to ensure that all residents are well cared for and that their quality of life is enhanced by all the various activities and outings. As a frequent visitor to the Chesters I have seen at first hand the quality and variety of the meals served, so, special thanks to Louise and all involved in the kitchen. Special thanks also to those involved in the laundry, who ensure that residents have clothes that are clean and comfortable. Many thanks to all the staff at the Chesters.

Our mam has lived at The Chesters for a year now. When we realised she needed care The Chesters was our 1st choice based on recommendations we received. We were really fortunate that they were able to take her & have never regretted our decision.
The Chesters is very homely, immaculately clean
& beautifully decorated so first impressions are always good. More importantly to us, many of the team have worked there for a long time. To us that is the sign of a happy workforce & that's exactly what we've found in the last year.
The team really know mam & understand her needs. Mam likes to help out in the home, the team are really patient & support her to do this so she feels useful. The activities organiser involves mam in lots of what is going on which gives her purpose. Dad visits daily & receives support also, he's always made to feel welcome & regularly enjoys a meal there.
Having mam settled in The Chesters gives us all peace of mind & we are very grateful to the team for that

My Mum has been in Holmlea now for 7 years and has always been treated with dignity and love and care.
As a family, we have always been treated with courtesy and respect and nothing has ever been a bother to the staff. Having been at Holmlea for this length of time the staff know Mums ways and idiosyncrasies
and from this, they can always tell what sort of day Mum is having, so that they can determine how she must be treated.
We very much appreciate the hard work the staff do at Holmlea and the care and love they give to residents.
Thank You

It is important to appreciate the care, attention to details, the understanding and absolute professionalism constantly presented by the entire staff of The Northlands Nursing Home towards the care and support of my friend.

I have to say I am very happy seeing the way she was supported and cared

for while in the above care home. She was treated in a person centred way, well supported with a great deal of professionalism, respect and courtesy.

From the care home manager, to the staff nurse, the carers and the entire team, I want to say A BIG THANK YOU.

My Mam has been a resident at Holmlea for four years now and me living 400 miles away can't really get up to see mam as much I wanted to and no other family connections, Sami and her team do a fantastic job looking after Mam and keep the communication with me up to date . I can't thank them enough they
have been brilliant with my telephone calls to Mam she is always saying the food and the staff are brilliant which is very reassuring to me and I know Mam is set in her ways but the staff have been fantastic dealing with Mam . The Home is always really clean and has a really good feel to it and I can't thank Sami enough for doing Mam's hair and making Mam look beautiful when I'm up and taking Mam out for afternoon tea.
Thank you to all who work at Holmlea care home

My father has been looked after with great kindness and consideration for four years at Holmlea, (and my mother too before her death). He is very restricted by frailty, but the staff always make time to have a cheery word or to talk when passing his room. The food is home cooked and tasty, and everywhere
is always spotlessly clean. Many of the staff have been there a long time, and their continuity with the residents must help create a more homely atmosphere. Communication is good when anything out of the ordinary happens.

It is really hard to put into words how grateful I am for all the care and kindness everyone showed to my aunt while she was at Holmlea. Everyone knew her so well and accepted her after contanlerors and rude behaviour, yet still did everything they could to make her time better. All the staff allowed
her to be herself and made the most of the home when she accepted help graciously. Everyone kept her well fed and cared for and allowed her to retain her dignity. The staff at Holmlea are a group of very special people.

My mam has been a resident at the Chesters for the last 15 months, I'd heard great things about this place .
She'd previously had a couple of weeks respite in another local care home which opened our eyes to the type of place we didn't want her to be in,
The Chesters is what you'd wish for in a
care home, from the moment i walked in WITHOUT an appointment i got a good feel for the place , the staff are so engaged and interactive with the residents.
With it being quite a small care home it always seems to be busy and upbeat .
All of the staff are great , they treat everybody with empathy and respect , with a little bit of northern , cheeky humour thrown in.
Food is great and for the picky eaters there's lots of snacks and tea and biscuits.
We are so grateful to the staff for looking after our mam , we understand it's a hard job ,definitely a vocation and they excel at it !!

My Dad came to this care home after being in a couple of others before here,
We wanted a homely vibe for our dad and this is exactly what we got.
The staff are amazing here and as stubborn as my dad was they cared for him like he was their own.
The last couple of weeks have been hard on our family
as it was his end of life and I can honestly say we as a family made a bond with these lovely people.
They looked after us while we stayed to the end of my dad life and the support from this home is above and beyond.
We thank them from the bottom of our hearts there is no agency staff so everyone knows each and every one of the residents so if friendly caring and homely is what you're after ring Holmlea .

They communicate well regarding any issues. I like the relaxed atmosphere in Homelea and the attention given to residents when they need it. The day rooms are bright and well furnished with TV programmes to watch should they want to. Communications are good and the staff are very helpful and kind. I
know they have activities but have been there for only one - Hogmond - most enjoyable those who joined in.

My aunt has been a resident at the home for around eight weeks The staff cares about the welfare of the residents. My aunt, as a fiercely independent lady who has lived on her own for over forty years has been, at times, both grumpy and difficult. At all times staff has treated her with patience, good
humour, politeness, and professionalism.
Everyone is also very welcoming to visitors making them feel part of the family member's new life. Massive thank you to all.
