For us, the crucial positives are that our son is very happy in Fairford Court and the staff are very kind, caring and supportive. On request, they communicate well with us but we would appreciate more regular and detailed feedback.
Our son's progress towards greater independence seems slower than
we had hoped and it seems to us that the excellent staff may require more support/training/experience to be able to guide him more effectively towards work/employment.

The care home is extremely helpful to my son. The staff have helped him to come out of his shell. When we went to Fairford Court he was quiet and withdrawn, now he is more open and he mingles with other residents. He even goes out with some of the residents. I am very happy with his progress.

My son has lived here for 2 and a half years. This is the best placement by far that he has lived in for well over 20 years (in various establishments). Each member of staff is excellent - kind, polite, courteous, understanding etc. The best staff ever - both for my son and this family. I wish there
could be more activities and choice. Also more advice etc in healthy eating. I would also like residents to be given education re cancer checking. The relationship my son has with all the staff is fantastic.

I am happy living at Fairford Court, staff are supportive in meeting my day to day needs and to develop new skills to move into supported living in the future. I have made new friends at the home and I am currently being supported with the jobcentre on how to get back into paid employment. I would recommend
this home.

The staff at Kemble House are very knowing and aware of my son's mental limitations and emotional needs. The manager is very switched on and approachable.
My son is contented living at Kemble House and feels secure.

Since the new company took over the management of Kemble House and in particular since the current manager arrived there have been a number of obvious improvements in the house, but also much more in relation to the care and support provision to my son. An example would be that the manager and her staff
are now actively working on my son's physical care needs and have started healthy meals for him and a programme to reduce the number of fizzy drinks he has per week. Importantly too, the new manager has initiated tea time invitations to families and carers in recognition of the need to have partnership working with families/carers of residents.

As a parent, I consider myself very lucky to have found a perfect home for my daughter. She has got on so well and developed so much better. I could not have coped knowing that my daughter is in such good hands, care and such good care plans are in place if she was anywhere else. Amazing home Kemble
