Eagle Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Eagle Lodge Care Home has proved to be a God send for my Dad. They have been a resident for over 3 years and from the moment they took up residency they have experienced nothing but top rate care and kindness. In the second half of 2025 the home went through a process of change and transition as it
moved from one owner to another. During that time, and all the way through to the present, the attention, focus and priority was on the residents and their welfare. The staff work tirelessly to ensure there is a friendly atmosphere as well as to give the residents, with their wide variety of needs, dignity, time and respect.

As you can imagine this not only benefits the residents, it also benefits the family and friends who support from outside the home. Our own experience has been that the care demonstrated in the home inspire confidence and trust for my Mum and others who aren't able to visit regularly. Eagle Lodge is a wonderful place where we have found a high standards to be the norm.

My sister in law was in Hilton Lodge only for the last two months of her life. Her accommodation and care were excellent - the staff did everything possible to look after her. The local management were also excellent.
My low rating for 'management' relates to Mansfield Care Ltd, which issued an incorrect
contract and failed to correct it without being reminded.

I am delighted with Eagle Lodge and I know my mother is too. She was accepted by Eagle Lodge following the closure of a home where she had also been very happy. We have both been delighted with every aspect of the care at Eagle Lodge including the home itself, its setting and location. When I leave
my mother at the end of a day's outing I can see she is happy to back safe at what she has come to regard as a home in every sense. I am eternally grateful to the staff and management. Thank you

My Mum has been part of Eagle Lodge for almost two years we needed a dementia place and this care home has been a god send. They cater for everyone's individual needs and they do activities on a daily basis which my Mum likes to take part in if she feels up to it. They also bring in different singers
quiz masters and also therapy animals too.All the staff from domestic to carers to management are all very friendly
Reply from Lucy Duffin, Chief Operating Officer at Eagle LodgeThank you for your kind words, it is a pleasure to support your Mum. We love the animals too, they bring such joy! My mother moved to Eagle Lodge In December 2025. Since that time the communication between myself and the Care / Home Manager on matters relating to my mother's care has been excellent with emails being answered promptly and comprehensively. Leadership is visible and supportive.

The environment which

residents experience is extremely pleasant and the staff are caring, friendly and approachable. There is an activities coordinator who is friendly and enthusiastic who strives to keep activities varied, despite the challenges of varying levels of capability.

The premises are kept clean and pleasant and the cleaning staff are polite and friendly to both my mother and us as a family. The dining room facilities are pleasant and extremely clean with menus on display to view.

I would recommend Eagle Lodge to anyone with a loved one who needs to be kept safe and sound.

You have a beautiful building and a very friendly, welcoming staff. The pip in the cafe is a great idea and was much appreciated by my visitors. You also have an interesting programme of activities suitable for people with many disabilities.
Although I did enjoy my stay, your catering staff struggled
to understand that I eat a hay diet (which separates protein and carbs).

An organised, clean, tidy, well appointed and beautifully decorated care home. Residents are well cared for, treated with respect, empathy and dignity. Activities and entertainment are many and varied. The staff are caring, patient, friendly and calm, and appear to work well together as a team with
no signs of discord. Visitors are welcome. Residents' families are well informed.

On visiting Hilton Lodge Care Home in Haddington for the first time, I was indeed impressed. The home is clean, and staff are pleasant. They always make you feel welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. My friend appears to be very well taken care of, as are all the other residents. Also, I am impressed
with the entertainment on offer and enjoy seeing my friend participate when she can.
Keep up the good work, everyone.

8 months since my dad had a severe stroke, upon reviewing care homes we were blown away by the Hilton Lodge in Haddington. Since dad arriving who is in a wheelchair bound and non verbal. He was welcomed into the care home like a family member. As he is non verbal he is very well cared for with all the
team able to communicate with him and include him in activities. From the staff, cleanliness + food everything is excellent. We would highly recommend to all our family + friends.

I would not recommend this Care Home, as a family we had multiple issues with their care of my late father.
Their inadequate care and observations of my Dad condition after his return from hospital resulted in him suffering before taken to hospital where he subsequently died.
A complaint with the
Care Inspectorate was upheld, the details of which are on their website.

My cousin recently spent a week's respite while her husband was in hospital.

Hilton Lodge made her feel extremely welcome. The home was beautiful and the atmosphere was more like a hotel with various lounges to relax in. The staff were warm, caring and professional and made her stay a lovely

experience. An excellent place to live or visit. Thank you all.

Hilton Lodge provided a clean, secure, safe and welcoming space for care. In my experience, as a close friend of a resident, people are treated with kindness and respect. The facilities are excellent and provide both private and shared spaces. This allows for quiet bedrooms and also communal areas with
a wide range of engaging activities for residents during the week. The management is excellent, and the staff are friendly, professional and engaging. The residents are at the centre of how Hilton Lodge is run. In summary, Hilton Lodge has provided an outstanding care experience for the resident I know there.

Care was provided for my husband over a two month period. We were happy with the care he received and could not wish him to be in a better place for the end of his life. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation of all that was done to make him comfortable and ease his passing. It is a pity
he was not there for longer and unable to enjoy all the facilities on offer.

My mother enjoyed her respite stay. The staff ensured she was involved in all activities and that she ate and drank well. There was an incident when a gentleman was going into her room day and night. This frightened her. The staff and I came up with a solution to ensure mum was and felt safe.

I am extremely happy with the care that my Mum receives at Haugh House. She is always in good spirits, well dressed and well fed. The staff are very friendly and familiar with Mum and what she likes which is great. I live far away from Edinburgh now and knowing she is looked after in such a comfortable
and pleasant environment is really important for me. I am made aware of any issues and can easily contact Mum for a chat when possible.

The family are very happy with the care and support offered by the staff at Haugh House for our 92 year old mother. She has been at Haugh House for several years and she has received excellent support. As the family aren't based in Edinburgh it's so important that we know Mum is in a wonderful caring
environment. We are kept fully informed of any issues and concerns and can't speak highly enough of the staff's care, attention and good humour. It's a smaller home and the turnover of staff is low which is great for Mum because she knows evryone that works there. It's a lovely home with a warm welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
