I found the staff very warm and welcoming each time I visited a great contrast to the hospital where no-one seemed to know about the patient. My family were pleased with care given to my dying husband and I felt kindly supported throughout the two weeks he was in The Grange. We were given a 60th anniversary
card and congratulations by the staff I met on that day, wonderful experience at a very difficult time - my thanks to all.

Mum spent more that 5 years in The Grange, arriving during COVID. She has been supported and cared for with the utmost care and dignity throughout her whole time there.

My judgement of St John's Home is based on my respite stay of six days, following an operation. During my time at the home, I experienced wonderful care by exemplary staff. I met well over 20 members of staff from a multitude of countries - they were all delightful, caring and cheerful, whether cleaners,
carers, kitchen staff or management. There was an unfortunate accident, but the staff coped admirably, with emergency procedures strictly followed - simply exemplary!

Having been a carer in a nursing home for over 5 years , I can recognise a good home when I see one.St John's was the first and last home I viewed as I knew it would be a good "fit" for mum .
My mum has now been there for almost 4 years and she herself said she can't imagine living anywhere else.
Joyce
, and her team some of which have been there for years ( a testament itself) are fabulous and will keep you informed all times , and it's nice to know mum is safe and well.cared for.
The home is beautiful and always clean , the garden is fabulous ,I can't remember the gardeners name but she is passionate about it.
I can recommend St John's, without hesitation, it's a lovely home.

My mother has been a resident for several years and is very happy with the care she receives. The staff are patient and understanding, treating residents with dignity, which gives me great peace of mind. The grounds are outstanding and provide a joyful space for residents to enjoy nature. The birthday
cakes prepared for residents are exceptional and add a special touch. Some areas where enhancements could make life even better. Expanding access to technology such as the internet, computers, tablets, or streaming services. While TVs are provided in each room, programming is limited. More variety in food options and ensuring that cold dishes are served at room temperature rather than overly chilled. Addressing the noticeable smell of urine on the first floor. I realize this is a challenging issue as more residents suffer from dementia, but it affects the environment. Overall, I am pleased with management and the carers. Their dedication and compassion are evident.

My neighbour stayed here for the last 1.5 years of her life and she had a lovely plac to call home.
What I loved about this care home is that you can visit anytime and the place is always spotless, she was always clean and dressed up and I know by experience it's a difficult thing to achieve on a
daily basis if you have in house care.
The food is freshly cooked, home baked biscuits with your tea, many activities are running even though she didn't she enjoyed the in house hairdresser and manicure.
The building is delightful and so are the gardens.
I m very grateful to all of you running this care home, it was peaceful and comfortable place for her.
Reply from Lesley Troth, Administrator at St John's HomeThank you for the wonderful review, it was a pleasure to take care of your neighbour. Her presence is sorely missed by us all here at St Johns Home.

My dear wife is over 90 years old, suffers from advanced 'Alzheimer's' dementia, is unable to do anything for herself or communicate.. She was entered to St. John's Care Home on 31st. October 2023. Both our daughter and I visit her on an almost daily basis, so we are very well acquainted with the home
and its staff. On our visits we note that she is comfortable, Settled and never complains. She could not be in a better place. When we visit we play her music to which she responds: nice songs sung by good.
singers from yesteryear. Two things I note that are not in your boxes:-the grounds are extensive & lovely, and there is No smell inside the home.

My Aunt resided at The Grange Nursing Home for five years.
The staff here became her second family, she was well cared for. I was always kept informed of any changes to my Aunt's condition and was always made welcome when I visited her. When my Aunt passed away, staff came in on their days off to pay
their respects, my aunt would have appreciated that and as her niece, I can't thank the staff enough for what they did for her. I will certainly miss my visits to The Grange.

The care at The Grange is out of this world. In all of my 40 years of business, I have never met staff and management so devoted to the well-being of their residents. They are all very polite, helpful and very caring. In all of the 16 months my wife was there everything was done for her comfort and
wellbeing. I have been very impressed with them all.

My mum was admitted for end-of-life care. She was with you for just over 3 weeks, during this time she received excellent care and the staff were all friendly when we came to visit. She had a lovely room overlooking the garden and, whilst she had wanted to die at home, this was the next best thing.
Thank you.

She was welcomed into the community for the last few months of her life. Staff were helpful, caring and friendly and always happy to talk with us. The grounds were particularly important, enabling frequent trips into pleasant surroundings on the doorstep. We were very pleased to find a safe and reassuring

As she was only there until she passed away, I can't give some ratings. The staff were friendly, helpful and caring. The home, other than the drive and car park (which was a mixture of water, gravel and mud) was very good.
