The new living room is great for visiting,the furniture and colours are very relaxing.

My mother passed away last January having had the best end of life care, in fact her whole time in Southern House was without fault . She was well cared for in every way and the staff became her family and also ours as a family as well. Nothing was too much trouble especially her last nights before she passed .My sister and I were really well cared for as well, through the days and nights. I highly recommend Southern House and in fact have recommended several times

We want to send a very special thank you to the nurse in charge that day, Debbie. She went completely above and beyond to ensure my grandad was as comfortable as possible, while also making sure we fully understood what was happening and had complete input into his care. We will always be grateful for the kindness and dignity shown to him and our family.

Not enough support given to residents with daily personal care i.e. washing hands, face and cleaning teeth daily. A shower once a week would be good and change of clothes but still not happening. This is very frustrating for us as family when we come to take my father out but can't because he is unshaven and too dirty in same clothes as last week! Instead we have to stay in and shower him. To say he refuses to cooperate and shower simply isn't good enough. Care staff should be trained on how to communicate with dementia residents. They need to feel safe and need encouragement to cooperate but too many foreign staff make communication difficult.

Absolutely brilliant! The manager and assistant manager run a brilliant care home. Full marks.

The manager, Deb bent over backwards to help us arrange transport for Mum for an urgent operation in hospital. We can't thank her enough.

My husband has been a resident at the Whitehouse for four years and has received excellent care. It has given me peace of mind and I am very grateful to all the staff.

My dad wasn't with them very long but in the time he was there he was happy and well looked after which is what we all hope for from a care home, the staff were absolutely brilliant with his care it seemed like nothing was too much trouble. As I mentioned he wasn't with them very long but the staff also really went above and beyond with helping us after he passed.

Mum extremely well cared for and happy here. Nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic selection of entertainment always on offer, keeping residents engaged and stimulated. Personal care top notch and beauty therapies such as hair and nails always a priority, helping residents feel happy and refreshed. So nice to know that mum is happy in her lovely new home and room.

Amazing experience, every time I visit my mum all staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Ashley has them all enjoying so many activities, she is so innovative and the centre of keeping my mum happy.

All the staff are brilliant and the activities and festivities that are organised throughout the year for the residents are absolutely great. Very friendly, caring environment with well being and safety being optimum priority.

The Whitehouse is Dad's home, a place of well-being, safety and familiarity where Dad trusts the team around him. Knowing that Dad is so well cared for by such brilliant professionals gives me enormous peace of mind.
