My mother has been a resident for more than a year and is very happy at Hillyfield. The staff and care are excellent with a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of the residents. The staff and management are good communicators, providing an engaged and committed face to the facility.
My husband and I feel so lucky there was a vacancy at the time our cousin needed it. She has settled well and is happy the staff are very friendly.
There is always something to do during the day to stimulate mum, physically and mentally, but if she wants to be alone that's ok too.
Very well run by a thoughtful, well led, hardworking team who are happy to respond to suggestions. Care of residents really good in very homely surroundings. Activity range very good and generally, Hillyfield is a very happy place to be. Individuals privacy respected but also lots of encouragement to engage with others.
A fantastic facility. Always going above and beyond to help my grandmother and to keep us informed. The food is excellent and activities are brilliant. There is always something going on just what my grandmother needs.
The atmosphere in the home is welcoming, the food wholesome, both enjoy their meals. The personal care they have required has been given with dignity, I feel they have a real sense of being cared for. Staff are considerate to the needs of my parents and do their best to ensure that they are included in all activities. They have taken their time to ask us what their likes and dislikes are, what they like to talk about, what interests them, as well as sorting out medication and other medical requirements . It is a small home and has a homely feel about it, some structural improvements to the layout of the home may ease the walking frame congestion, even this is managed in a very sensible way. I am very impressed with the whole experience we have had, from the manager who is highly motivated to all the staff who are kind at caring at all times.
My mother was taken in as a matter of urgency, after a fall and a stay in hospital as she was unable to manage in her own home. Hillyfield Rest Home was very helpful and efficient in moving her into the home. She arrived very cross and confused however all the staff worked hard to help settle her in. She is now a permanent resident. The owners, management and all the staff have shown care, consideration and compassion. They have been excellent in communicating with us, her family. She is in safe hands.
I have visited my mother twice since she has been in this care home after four weeks, following a series of falls in her home. I was impressed by the time the staff and especially the owners, spent talking with the residents. They demonstrated interest, consideration and compassion. In a phrase, the ethos is that they all care about, as well as care for, those in their care. The indoor and outdoor areas are good, as far as available space will allow.
Hillyfield is an excellent home with caring staff. There is a warm & friendly atmosphere, all the rooms are lovely and the food is good. There is regular entertainment and a mini bus for trips out. The home is in a lovely part of the village - quiet but not too far from the shops.
There is a good atmosphere at the home with its extended family. The residents have a varied menu throughout the week and the food is extremely good. They have trips out in the mini bus several times a week and there is entertainment most days to keep the residents occupied.
As with any 'family ' life it is not always perfect but it is not far off.
My elderly aunt has settled into her new life at Hillyfield in Milford On Sea. The staff are very caring, nothing is too much trouble and she is now in a safe and comfortable environment. She was struggling to look after herself in her own home and her health was deteriorating. After a few weeks at Hillyfield her health is back to normal.
