My sister-in-law has been resident at Wolfe House for 21 months. Moving to a care home is a massive decision, but I feel we made the correct choice. When I visit, regardless of the time of day, staff are always welcoming and although my sister-in-law suffers with dementia, they always include her in
any conversation and ask her opinion. Wolfe House has been through a huge improvement plan and this has been carried out with the utmost consideration to the residents, consequently, my sister-in-law now has an ensuite room. The lounge is now light and bright with lovely views over the North Downs. Staff are friendly and polite and good is excellent, nothing is too much trouble. Recommend as a home from home residency.

Friendly and welcoming at all times of the day.
Always available to answer questions.
Recent high turnover of staff.
Recent building work has improved the home environment but has made the rest look tired.

My observation of Wolfe House Care Home is that it offers a home-from-home experience. It feels like someone's home or small hotel, rather than an institution.
I always visit unannounced & each time have found staff members welcoming & my mother to be both cared for & contented. All the staff I have
met are both professional & helpful. If I had to, I feel I could live there.

We could not have wished for a nicer home for our mums. All the carers are so friendly and helpful. A genuine wish to see the residents are happy and attention to their needs. It has only been a month since mum arrived, but already she is settling in. Wolfe House is well run with a calm and relaxed
atmosphere. All visitors have a warm welcome when they visit.

I think that because this care home is small, it has the atmosphere of a house rather than an institution. I feel that it is ideal for my mum.
The rooms are always very clean and the staff are welcoming and helpful.

As I only visit monthly, it is difficult to comment on her welfare. Her dementia progresses so so does here confusion.. and consequently behaviour on occasions.
However, when I phone in for updates the staff are always very helpful in what they say about mum. As you would expect Wolfe House is always
clean and welcoming. After two years the other residents know me.

My mother has always been very happy and settled in this care home. She has been at Wolfe House for three years. The staff are friendly and professional. the food is very good and it is pleasing to see that there are many activities during the day to keep mother stimulated. I would recommend this care
home.

A welcoming establishment and always helpful. Facilities rather cramped but they manage to use the small space well. Midday meal time is a very unusually early time which can make visits a little difficult. Visiting car space can be difficult and backing out can be dangerous.

Whenever I visit Wolfe House to see mum the staff are always welcoming and friendly. They answer any questions I may have. They offer us an additional room (conservatory) to have a private meeting if we want but we are happy to sit at the table. There are always members of staff around which is important.
I like Wolfe House because it only has around twelve residents. T o me this is very important as the staff can have a food relationship with their residents and will be able to monitor their wellbeing closely.

My mother became a resident during the summer. I am delighted with the quality of care. They have managed her dementia extremely well and she is very happy. The team are all excellent and extremely well managed. The house is always very clean and feels like a comfortable home for the residents. I feel
confident and reassured than my mother is being well cared for.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.667) out of 10 for Wolfe House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Wolfe House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wolfe House Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.2 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
