My wife has been resident here for 1 year now and I have found that she is always well dressed and groomed. She seems always to be well-fed and contented with her situation. I am happy that she is well cared for.

Mum has been a resident for four years, in the last two years she has been bedbound due to deterioration of Alzheimer's.
Staff are really welcoming and I am kept up to date with any changes.

Due to Covid-19, I have not been able to visit as much as I like but staff are always available to video call.

My mum was taken to Northview from hospital and as a family we were a little concerned about my mum settling in, but due to the friendliness and caring given by the staff she has settled in fine.

From the moment both my parents arrived, both they and I were welcomed and the home continued to be so. All the staff have consistently shown kindness and always very friendly. During the COVID crisis, the staff have also helped to make it possible for us to at least see each other through windows by moving my parents to a suitable room when I visit.

Northfield House is a care home where I have put my father into due to him having a stroke and dementia. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They care for all the residents like they are their own family and make all visitors very welcome.
The home itself is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are comfortable and homely.
The food is cooked and prepared fresh, and when I visit my Dad on a Sunday, I wish I could stay for the Sunday Lunch they serve!
A doctor visits every week to check on all the residents, and he has called me several times to discuss my father's health which I find to be very reassuring and very professional, the doctor has also told me he would put his loved ones into this care home if needed as its a fabulous home and I could not agree more.

Thank you to all the amazing staff at Northfield House for all you do.

The staff are the key factor in any care home. It's a thankless job and one I could never do, so I have the utmost respect for the staff at Northfield House.
They are always friendly and have limitless patience. You're welcome at any time and there is always the offer of a drink.
Whilst the home itself is not as plush as some purpose-build homes, it has a nice, homely atmosphere.

My father is happy here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.

My uncle has been with Northfield House in Syston for nearly two years now. We visited and my uncle had previously stayed temporarily at another care home in Syston, but we found it too big and busy for his liking. I have to say the care and support is exceptional and the staff are really dedicated carers. Nothing is too much for them and my uncle is demanding! The home has a lovely feel to it, there are only around 20 residents and we always enjoy visiting and seeing the staff who treat my uncle like a relative. My uncle is partial to fish and chips and they cater for this, every Friday is fish and chip lunch. When my uncle first moved in he had a mobility scooter and the home were very accommodating, though he would give five minutes notice he wanted to go out!

My family and I personally would recommend Northfield House and the lovely team led by the manager.

Our mother resided at Northfield House for 18 months, under difficult circumstances. She was made to feel as welcome as she could. They were happy to help at all times, day or night. They understood her situation.... and ours, with all worries for her care and safety being met. The staff were kind, caring and patient. We can only praise them for the hard and sometimes tireless work they do. The home is a little worn around the edges but improvements were being made all the time whilst she was there. If you want a home that cares can recommend.

Overall Experience

Northfield House may not be one of these brand new very plush care homes but it is well equipped, very clean and warm. If you are looking for first-rate care for your loved one then this is the home to care for them. From the day my dad went to stay there following a long stay in hospital we knew he was in excellent hands. All members of the staff are polite and friendly....and they really know their stuff when it comes to the care of their patients. My dad suffered very bad vascular dementia following a heart problem, this made him quite difficult to help but the staff here knew exactly how to handle this situation keeping dad safe and his dignity intact. We as a family would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for helping dad at a very difficult time.

My mother has been a resident since April 2017 and sadly passed away on 5 October 2019.
During this period, we cannot fault the level of care and compassion shown to her. She was always very keen to stress how well she was being looked after and during her last few days, still referred to the wonderful staff. We were always greeted with a smile when visiting and never felt we were imposing.

Whilst my mother was reluctant to go in to care, Northfields made this a comfortable last couple of years.

An excellent care home. Small, homely, clean and tidy and always smells nice. Every single one of the management and staff are wonderful caring people and nothing is too much trouble. They treat all of the residents with dignity, respect and kindness. I have seen them treat challenging behaviour in the same caring way, never raising their voices. My mother-in-law passed away there after a six-month stay, at the grand age of 100. She was happy and settled there from the day she went in. Myself and the rest of the family will be eternally grateful for the wonderful care she received there. If you are unsure about where to place your relative you won't be disappointed with Northfield House. Relatives and friends are also very welcome and we were always offered drinks.

After a lot of searching in the local area, I chose Northfield House for my mums care. I kept hearing positive views about the home, so I booked an appointment to have a look around and was very impressed. My mum went into the home in May and they are catering for her needs brilliantly. It's an unenviable task choosing the correct home and I feel that I have.

I am a constant visitor to the home and their standards continue to be very high.

Our mum has been a resident for the last 8 months during which she has been really well looked after by the caring and very friendly staff.

The home has high standards of cleanliness and is always very tidy. Visitors are warmly welcomed and offered tea and coffee. It would be nice to have another room downstairs when visiting but appreciate there isn’t the space to allow for this. Mum can sometimes be picky with her food but staff always offer alternatives.

We have been able to decorate her room and bring in furniture which has helped her settle in really well. There are various activities happening each day which the residents are encouraged to take part in.

This is a lovely care home. Staff are very polite and caring, they have a good understanding of age-related conditions. They get to know and understand each resident and their needs. When I have visited there is always a carer in the lounge chatting away with the resident or doing some form of activity. Any concerns or questions are dealt with straight away and they keep families informed. Residents always seem happy. I cannot fault this care home on any level.
