Hillside Care Home is a purpose-built facility designed to suit many personal care and nursing needs, run by a team of staff who understand the needs of both young and old people and those with physical disabilities. Hillside's residents make it a diverse care home, as there is a mix of older and younger residents with long term medical conditions. The care team provide more specialist services such as end-of-life care.

There is excellent support from local healthcare specialists – GP practices, physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, dietician, chiropodist, wheelchair services, dentist and optician.

Residents benefit from an activities coordinator who ensures that there is usually something interesting going on including visiting entertainment, discussion times, word games, trips out to town, as well as lots of music and they sit out on the sunny patio whenever they can. At Hillside a Chaplain visits regularly to provide companionship and pastoral support to both residents and their friends and relatives, whatever their beliefs. And there are some invaluable volunteers who are happy to chat and to help with activities and outings.

Nearby attractions include the town shops, pubs and cafes, and also the chance to experience a great deal of natural scenery and wildlife within a short drive.

Hillside is owned by MHA, a national charity helping to improve the lives of over 19,000 older people across Britain, enabling them to live later life well.

I am only here for a short stay, possibly two weeks, prior to going to my home. My experiences to date have been exceptionally good with the staff so helpful and obliging. Hopefully, if my recuperation continues favourably I shall be okay to go home. However if things do not go to plan I would not hesitate
to use your wonderful facility again.

This was my first time visiting my sister. She is very happy living there. The staff were very nice and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Welcoming with a cup of coffee. I would highly recommend the home.

Hillside is an excellent care home. The staff are very professional, kind and caring. The food is very good, and the dining/outside sitting area is extremely pleasant.
The room is very pleasant, good size, very clean and has plenty of storage.
Always feel very relaxed here and love the lounge -
lovely feel to it.

My stepmother has been receiving end-of-life care at Hillside for over six months. We are fully aware that the only reason she is still with us is down to the exceptional care she is given. This is not only the medical care - which is exemplary - this involves keeping infections in check, which is a
difficult task. They also give amazing emotional support and care, which means she is happy there.

My 89-year-old mother stayed at Hillside for 5 weeks to recover from a recent stay in hospital. She had a wonderful experience in the home due to the care and attention of the friendly and professional staff. Every one of them did their utmost to make mum's time at Hillside as happy and comfortable
as possible. It is clearly a very well-run and managed home.

The care and consideration given by the staff to residents and visitors is as though you are their own family. They are always welcoming and friendly and so gentle with our precious loved ones. I've had only great experiences of visiting my Mum and she always says she is happy there. Before COVID-19,
I visited at various times without appointments and Mum was always in clean clothes and freshly bathed. Her food always looks attractively presented and freshly cooked. In fact, on many occasions, the chefs have prepared trifles just for her when she fancied one. Hillside have responded professionally and efficiently to COVID-19 and always put the health of residents and staff at the forefront of their measures. I have no reservations in recommending Hillside as a great care provider.

I have now been coming to Hillside for nearly five years. A friend of mine lived here for three years and after seeing the way she was cared for, I wanted to be a part of this home so became a volunteer. I have made lots of friends and feel it a privilege to visit them.

All the staff at Hillside are so friendly and helpful. My mum is well cared for and happy and my brother and I are so pleased that she was able to come and live there. I am sure that the last few months have been very difficult for everyone and we thank the staff for their continued care and support
in such difficult times. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hillside to others.

My mother has been a resident now for just over a year and the level of care she has received has been excellent. From being unsure when she first moved in, the staff have really helped her to settle in and is very happy. All the staff are caring and friendly and a heartfelt thank you goes out to all

I am an 83-year-old mother who was very afraid of what was going to happen with my 68-year-old son who has been very ill and knew he would not survive by himself. Now he is in Hillside I feel at peace with myself and know when I pass I will be passing very happy! Many thanks for your kindness.

I just want everyone to know I’m happy here and the staff all do a fantastic job of looking after us all. I couldn’t do it as I’d forget names. I have a laugh with everyone I can. I do have down days like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day but I’m very happy here and the manager and assistant manager are
