Hillside Care Home is a purpose-built facility designed to suit many personal care and nursing needs, run by a team of staff who understand the needs of both young and old people and those with physical disabilities. Hillside's residents make it a diverse care home, as there is a mix of older and younger residents with long term medical conditions. The care team provide more specialist services such as end-of-life care.

There is excellent support from local healthcare specialists – GP practices, physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, dietician, chiropodist, wheelchair services, dentist and optician.

Residents benefit from an activities coordinator who ensures that there is usually something interesting going on including visiting entertainment, discussion times, word games, trips out to town, as well as lots of music and they sit out on the sunny patio whenever they can. At Hillside a Chaplain visits regularly to provide companionship and pastoral support to both residents and their friends and relatives, whatever their beliefs. And there are some invaluable volunteers who are happy to chat and to help with activities and outings.

Nearby attractions include the town shops, pubs and cafes, and also the chance to experience a great deal of natural scenery and wildlife within a short drive.

I viewed the home for my brother whilst he was in the hospital. From the second I walked, in I knew it was the one I wanted him in. It is like a 5-star hotel. Clean, staff are very content and dedicated. I pop in about three times a week and residents are also very relaxed. My brother loves everything
about this home and this is where he will stay! 10/10.

I like the friendly open-house feel of Hillside.
Management and staff have made my father and family feel welcome from day one. It is very reassuring to see my father in safe hands where I'm sure his well-being benefits from the stability of personnel.

The standard of care is very good and the staff are supportive and always friendly. In certain areas, a little updating is required - carpets and chairs etc but on the whole, the home is very well maintained. If a medical problem can't be solved they are always ready to call in the GP.

My mother-in-law has settled well at Hillside. She is well cared for by the staff who are always friendly and helpful and remain cheerful when their job is difficult. My mother-in-law enjoys the food and has put weight on. The whole family are so pleased she has moved here and receives such good care.

I received good care and staff are wonderful. I wish to stay here and unfortunately, I have to leave. I've never seen a place so clean. I wish if I could stay. There is always somebody if I call for assistance.

The Hillside is an excellent care home. The management and staff are welcoming and very thorough finding the needs of their residents. I have watched the staff dealing with the residents, they are very respectful and caring to each individual and their needs. Very friendly to family and visitors and
informative when required. They have made me feel very reassured that my mother is in safe and good care.

The staff are very caring, helpful and make my dad and family that visit always welcome.

I come to visit a friend of mine at Hillside and have always found the home to be welcoming and incredibly friendly. The staff are always so helpful and always ensure I have a cup of tea. My friend is very well looked after and enjoys living at Hillside. I would recommend this home in a heartbeat.

Hillside Nursing Home is a really pleasant home where the staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. The staff are always there with a smile and nothing is too much trouble.
I come to visit a dear friend who has been at Hillside for some time now and they feel very happy and content to live
there. There are always different activities going on at Hillside which everyone is invited to join in with. The home is filled with lots of laughter, fun and more importantly, care.

Care fair to good, staff and management very friendly. But the management is very poor with communication. I was left a voicemail to tell me my uncle had passed away before they realised that they should have phoned the right number we gave them 4hrs previous how bad is that. I have played this message
to my colleagues and professional people they can't believe it. They still have not contacted me 4 days after my uncle died with any condolences or any help. Why would you recommend this home?

My friend lived in Hillside for 11 years. I visited her regularly and organised her birthday parties and Christmas presents. Every time I visited I was welcomed by the staff and my friend looked happy to be there. She was always well cared for which was reflected in her appearance; her hair looking
nice with hair accessories always looking glamorous. Staff used to keep me informed of her well being and changes. The nursing home was fully refurbished and is clean and homely. The menu is varied and shows good nutrition. The nursing home also facilitated fortnightly visits of my friend's 2 sisters and accommodated for my friend to spend Christmas Lunch with her family at the nursing home.
Unfortunately, my friend passed away. The whole staff team supported organising her funeral, the nursing home chaplain conducted her funeral and after that, we celebrated her life at the nursing home with all that knew her.
I would recommend Hillside to anyone who expects to be treated with dignity and respect.

My mum was admitted in January 2018 for palliative care. The staff went above and beyond on many occasions to not only make sure she had the best care possible. They also looked after us as a family during mum's stay, all the way up til the day she died and even attended her funeral. Amazing people
and we shall be forever grateful as a family for the compassion and empathy shown by all at Hillside Nursing Home.

Hillside is very supportive, always show my husband, daughter and me support. All the staff are caring and will go out their way to do anything for us. My husband is a lot happier here with the care they provide for him, it allows me and my daughter to have a better relationship with him. The management
and office staff do everything they can and more for us.

For the most part, the home is good, the only issue I and my nan have is with agency staff who do not appear to be as fully trained/qualified as you would want a carer to be.
My nan has been dropped or almost dropped from her hoist on several occasions, this is totally unacceptable and not the level
of service we would expect.
The regular members of staff at the home are brilliant though.

My mother has been a resident at Hillside Nursing Home for a few years now. At first, she was very unsettled but the staff were very understanding and patient with my mother's behaviour. The home itself is a very happy place and my mother's physical needs are very well catered for. She sometimes tells
me she is bored but there are activities for her and all residents to partake in, but unfortunately, due to her dementia, she sometimes forgets what she does.
She is also regularly taken out into Aylesbury.

It was good to bring my mum in law 'home' from three weeks in hospital to somewhere peaceful and where she was looked after during the last week of her life.
She was cared for and kept nice and clean and comfy.
You can't ask for more for someone you love, it's what everyone should have at the end
of their life.

My husband has been resident at Hillside for 9 years and since the manager started in February 2016, the home has been a wonderful place. The staff are amazing, both administrative and carers and supporting staff. I would not wish my husband to be anywhere else as he is looked after so well. The manager
and all staff are very supportive to me in what is a difficult situation. I cannot fault the care that is shown to the residents and their relatives.
