End-of-life care for my partner of 35 years was excellent.

My father in law came in for respite after a short illness at Christmas and has come on leaps and bounds since then. Hoping he will stay forever, staff are all lovely, attentive and caring, such a lovely place.

My mother was very well looked after and lived a good life in Houndswood House Care Home.

My dad came into the home to spend his last days, we found the home very well run.

Without a doubt, Houndswood House Care Home is probably the best care home I have ever had the fortune of experiencing for a family member. Over the Christmas period, my mother became extremely ill with Covid. She is the main carer for my father who has Multiple Sclerosis and we needed him out of the house to ensure he would not catch it. Staff at Houndswood House was not only incredibly empathetic and caring to liaise with, but went out of his way to ensure the staff were informed. My father and us were met with the kindest, warmest staff members. They had to move him into various rooms without complaints. The nurse was wonderful and intelligent with the thousands of pills my Dad needs to take. The chef made personal visits to my Dad to ensure he was happy with the food on a kosher diet. The rooms and home feel more like a hotel and that is also down to the people that make it feel so welcoming. Thanks to care home assistant practitioner too! The staff made my Dad feel like a human being and not a resident. We are so grateful

Since moving into the care home, the support and professionalism of all the staff, has been excellent. All staff always treat my friend with the utmost dignity and respect, particularly with regards to any personal care. They sit with him at mealtimes and take their time; their patience is endless. The food is nutritious and the menu is varied. His room is lovely. It looks over the gardens and has an en-suite. The nursing staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Communication is excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending.

You don't know how good we feel having our Dad in Houndswood.

We find the staff and management always polite, courteous, caring and very kind. They will always answer any questions we have and go out of their way to make my aunty and her guests feel comfortable and welcomed. My aunty is very happy and has only good things to say about everyone here. We would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone in need of similar care. It made her feel very special on her birthday as they made a cake and both staff and management sang to her. She thoroughly enjoyed herself.

The manager came to visit my wife and myself before we were due to visit the home. We were very impressed with everything described of the process of moving my wife in. On moving in day we arrived and were taken to her room where the friendly staff helped us to unload her clothes etc and put them into the drawers and wardrobe. My wife and I could sense a very warm feeling and this has not changed to date. All staff have been extremely helpful and I will recommend this care home.

We feel so fortunate to have found Houndswood House, the care my father receives has far exceeded our expectations. Right from the beginning it has felt like such a warm, safe and caring environment. The setting is also beautiful with views of the garden and woodland from his room. It has been so great to see him build relationships with the whole team, and I feel so reassured when I see how happy and at ease he is with everyone.

As a family, we are so grateful for the lovely welcome we receive on every visit, all the cups of tea we get while spending time with dad, and just the effort the staff have made to make this the right place for dad.

My mother-in-law has been a resident in the above care home, since July 2021 and was chosen by wife and I as a result of recommendations and would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to others. I cannot praise the staff enough irrespective of what department they work in. They are all helpful, understanding and extremely friendly. Very well done Housewood House Care Home and just keep it as it is. Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone involved un the excellent care given to my aunt. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and we were always greeted with a smile when we visited her and sometimes we were asked if we wanted a cup of tea and a biscuit.

I'd like to thank them all for their kindness both to my mother and to me and my family.

I cannot thank the hard-working, caring staff and administration enough. The care they have given my sister is beyond measure. She was cared for so well and lovingly. I never had to worry about her. I cannot thank you enough.

The care my auntie Margaret received in Houndswood House Care Home was exemplary. She was cared for by many staff during her time there. She always told me that every single person was lovely. A time came when a member of staff was unkind and when reported management called a meeting and terminated their employment there. As well as being a lovely place to live, the genuineness and positivity of the staff was so important. Unable to care for her needs ourselves, we had 100% faith in the home and will always remember your kindness.

The accommodation is clean and fresh, the room has beautiful views over the gardens.

Houndswood House Care Home was recommended to me by a friend who was very impressed. It has lived up to the recommendation in all respects. I cannot praise the staff enough. They are professional kind, courteous, caring and communicate with me on a regular basis. I see my mother at least twice a week and she looks and tells me that she is quite comfortable and is in the best place.
