Westcott House Nursing Home

We cannot thank them enough for what they did for our mum. They are all living angels

My mum originally came to Westcott House for respite care, but she was so happy there that she decided she wanted to stay permanently. She now refers to the staff and the other residents as her "extended family", which I think says a great deal about the atmosphere of the home.

As a family member, I have seen first-hand the exceptionally high standard of care provided at Westcott House. The home genuinely feels like a home rather than an institution. We had experience of two other care homes when my father was alive, and in my opinion Westcott House far exceeds both of them in every respect.

The staff are incredibly kind and caring, but they are also thorough and attentive in the way they look after each individual resident. Mum is treated with warmth, respect and dignity, and as a family we have great confidence in the care she receives.

Most importantly, Mum is happy there. Knowing that she feels safe and cared for means an enormous amount to us.

My mother in law was moved into Westcott House from a residential home as she requires a nursing home for her needs. The staff at Westcott House have been so very professional, welcoming and caring. There is always something going on for the residents and when we (the family or friend's), visit, it's a great atmosphere. We are kept informed of any changes, updates or such by phone or email and we always get an update when visiting, (a member of staff will always pop over to chat), and if we've wanted to chat to a nurse or the manager, this is never too much trouble. As a family, we are really happy.

Staff always helpful, friendly. Good care to my sister. Thanks very much. I know she has a lot of needs. Thanks for looking after her.

Westcott House seems to be a lovely caring home everyone is very friendly and helpful. I have not been coming long but am very happy with how my brother has been looked after.

Every time I visit my aunt (Monica) I see the dedication and kindness of all the staff team here. I can see that she is safe and beautifully looked after and always has a smile on her face. Today a male staff member made me a pot of coffee, which was so kind.

Dad came to Westcott House after a spell in hospital. He settled in well after the first couple of weeks and now is happy with the staff (who are very kind and friendly). There are lots of activities provided - we went for a lovely trip to a garden centre last month which I joined too. Although Dad has a lot of pain, the nurses keep him as comfortable as possible (he has a button he can press to call someone if need be).

Truly wonderful setting with loving staff that treat your love one with the same level of love and care as you would if you could keep them at home. Watching your love one slowly be consumed by dementia causing them to depend on others more and more each day is for all a traumatic and a distressing time in your life but at Westcott you are supported each day by the kindness, advice and knowledge shown to the families though routine visits and the many family events which take place throughout the year allowing for memories to be made. I feel very comfortable that Mum is well looked after. The staff try hard with activites, the food is prepared on site and families are encouraged to visit.

I have 3 relatives at Westcott Nursing Home, my sister still remains. My relatives have all been treated with dignity. The staff are kind and caring. They all do an amazing job. Residents dietary needs are well catered for and the food is very good. Relatives are kept informed of any changes in residents health, appetite etc. I have always been contacted if one of my relatives required a doctors visit or medication. Management is very good, approachable and quick to implement any changes. No concerns. A great home.

I cannot fault the staff/management at Westcott in any way. Facilities, care of patients, support for all, and activities for patients.

Care is excellent. Carers very kind and caring. Nursing excellent they are looking after his medical needs so well especially when he contracted pneumonia this month. Happy to listen and act is possible on all concerns. Very happy with all facilities, clean rooms and excellent food.

My wife has been at Westcott House for over 2 years and I can say that I am very happy with the care that she is receiving. The manager is very supportive and always ready to help.

Mum seems more settled now and always appears to get on well with all the staff who appreciate her banter. They speak fondly of her which is reassuring.

My partner has been resident for over 3 months and what I've seen at Westcott House is superb the home is well maintained , food, room's, facilities are excellent. I myself is made to be very welcomed, and treat me as one of them, also they are very family orientated. I couldn't ask for my partner to be in a better place. And would like to give one big thank you to staff who are brilliant. Thank you Westcott House.

Dad arrived at Westcott House in July 2025 after a lengthy stay in hospital. When he arrived he was very poorly, barely able to walk and very confused. He was made to feel very welcome by all staff and after a short period of time he really picked up. He gained weight, began to walk unaided and expressed his happiness at being in a sociable and mentally stimulated environment. I visit dad at different times of the day and he is normally involved in some sort of activity! I am always made to feel very welcome and any questions that I may have are always answered. I feel that Westcott House was the best thing to happen to dad. I am so relaxed knowing that he is looked after and cared for.

Westcott House nursing home is a very special place. I feel everyone works towards the same aim, the care and respect of each resident. Nothing is too much trouble. Friends and family are treated as part of the Westcott family, always addressed by name and made to feel very welcome. I have great admiration for the staff, caring is a job that needs dedication and a love for humanity.

The staff are all extremely kind and hard working, and it feels very reassuring for my dad to be in their care. The home is a huge improvement since the new management took over.
