Excellent and consistent care from the manager and her dedicated team throughout the almost two year stay of my mother. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they always take their time to build quality relationships with all the residents.

We are delighted with the care for our Mum and Mother-in-law. The staff are so kind and patient with our Mums, they are so well cared for and all the staff are amazing and genuinely kind and caring. A huge thank you to everyone, it's so appreciated.

My partner and I lost his mum in February 2024 after a brief stay at the Old Lodge Nursing Home where she moved to after a fall at her original care home, resulting in a broken hip. She had dementia, and the time she spent in hospital was very distressing for her and us as she was used to being mobile but this was taken away from her. Her hospital stay was prolonged due to contracting COVID followed by an infection in the wound of her hip replacement. The Old Lodge were so supportive during this period, keeping a room available and working with us and for us to get Mum released from hospital and home to them. Thanks to the superb care provided by the matron and her team our Mum soon settled in and became less agitated. When we visited the staff were friendly, welcoming and always offered us a drink. When we sadly lost Mum, the Matron and the team again stepped up providing support to us during a difficult time. Thank you, your respect, care and empathy was greatly appreciated.

The staff at The Old Lodge clearly understand how it feels for a loved one to have to move into a home - both what it represents for the person and for their family. As such the care and kindness they show is warm and tailored to the individual, as if they were caring for their own loved one. The atmosphere here does not feel like a typical nursing home, there is a real sense of family here. Matron has instilled an ethos of dignity, compassion and kindness that all of the staff personify. She is so worthy of the trust put in her by all the residents' loved ones, and has been an unfailing support to our family. The chef and the kitchen staff provide wonderful food, and have been so accommodating of Mum's tastes and needs, as well as ours when we visit. The nursing staff have gone above and beyond for Mum, showing genuine care and concern for her needs and her wellbeing.

We are happy to recommend them to anyone who is looking for high-quality nursing care.

I cannot thank the team at the Old Lodge enough for the excellent care and support they have given my mother over the past 12 months. The home is very well run, patients cared for extremely well and their commutation with us as a family in support of my mother has been great. In her final months, she could not have been in a better place and that has been a great comfort to us all. Thank you for looking after her so well.

My father-in-law was admitted to The Old Lodge Nursing Home in October 2023 following a fall that resulted in a broken hip. The care he received was excellent. The staff were professional, caring and friendly. Sadly, my father-in-law died at the beginning of January but we know the last weeks of his life were spent in the best place he could have been with wonderful, caring staff.

From the moment I contacted the Old Lodge, the team were so incredibly helpful and supportive. I desperately needed a room for my grandma with her rapidly changing needs and, having visited, I knew this would be the best place for her. It was so clean with tasteful decor and there was such warmth in the atmosphere in the home every time I visited. The attention to detail of the (Matron) and her team is immeasurable and their respect and loving nature towards their residents are simply amazing. Every single member of the team is friendly and welcoming and I will be forever grateful that my granny was able to be cared for by such a dedicated team.

I had to move my stepmom due to dementia related episodes from a previous nursing home, supported by social services. Myself I came from a performance driven organisation, I needed to support my stepmom with 100% quality nursing care, with love and assurance this would be possible. On initial first asking and monitoring actions across a wide range of activities, I could not fault this nursing home! This had already been established, communicated within everyone who was committed towards total quality of exceptional personal care. All staff take pride in everything they do, and are happy in doing so! They provide a fantastic service always going that extra mile to ensure all residents, families, third parties and their own staff are accounted for. Communication is second to none. Delicate and personal situations dealt with, always professional, treated with sincerest empathy, guidance direction and support. This is down to the team, and the vision of its matron. Thank you!

Like most families, we were devastated to put Dad in a Nursing Home after Hospital, but his resulting complex health needs gave us no choice. However, we considered ourselves and Dad blessed to have found The Old Lodge. From the moment we viewed, to seeing day after day, the passion, dedication and care every staff member showed him, (regardless of role), we knew Dad could not have been in better hands. The team are truly special and is a credit to the matron, whose empathy, compassion and absolute love for her role, shine through. It was so apparent every person caring for Dad shared the same ethos as the matron. It is hard to convey just how exceptional this place is. Dad very sadly passed away in August 2023 and my family and I will never forget the truly outstanding care he received. The whole team treated Dad with such respect and dignity and consequently, this gave such comfort to us and to my Mum, who for the first time in 68 years, was without her adored partner.

My wife was a resident at The Old Lodge for four years, in that time she received the utmost care and attention 24/7. Always treated with respect, very clean and the matron and her staff worked together to make sure everything was clean and comfortable for all residents.

This is a great care home. One staff member, in particular, is a very professional and lovely person. I feel my dad is very well looked after. The food is very good and it is a nice warm place. Great views. My dad has been here for over 2 months now.

To hand over the care of one's own loving mum is indeed a massive step for a family, which the Matron at The Old Lodge intuitively understands. She and her staff worked tirelessly to provide our Mum with consistently excellent nursing care for her body and mind over a period of five years. The family could not have been made to feel more welcome and we were fully consulted and included. The Home is immaculately clean and it is clear in every aspect of the way it is run that the overriding priority is the health and well-being of the residents. Simply outstanding.

Dad has been at Old Lodge for just over a month, having spent 7 months in hospital previously. The care he has received has been exceptional, with kindness being shown by all members of staff to Dad. His mental health has changed completely, from being very introverted and quiet to now showing normal facial expressions, having an interest in his surroundings and his appearance, plus his appetite is now back to normal. Thanks to everyone at Old Lodge for your work and care, so far.

My disabled son lives at the Old Lodge Nursing Home. The standards are excellent, he's well looked after, the home is spotless and the staff are very hard working. My son is always clean and happy and his needs are met really well. His room is spotless and his bed is changed every day. I'm very happy he is with the Old Lodge, whenever I visit, I always get a cup of tea and cake. I recommend The Old Lodge.

My brother, who has had epilepsy, has been looked after for 2 years plus. Coffee and cake in the room she visits my brother at the home with friendly staff. Staff always make her feel welcome and look after my brother day and night 24/7 and there is always someone for me to ring to check on him. As you go in, it's absolutely immaculate and clean, always someone in my brother's room cleaning to ensure 5-star hygiene. They even paid for equipment for epileptic needs out of their own pocket and we're extremely grateful for that. A 5-star care home for people in need of professional care.

My partner moved to The Old Lodge for, what turned out to be, the last 6 weeks of his life. During those 6 weeks, I witnessed a standard of care that was second to none. The manager's infectious enthusiasm for the care of her residents filtered down to the care staff and no one could have done more. The nurses were attentive and kept me well informed regarding his condition. He was looked after with respect, dignity and empathy and the staff were always full of life which transferred to the residents. I directly observed the skills of the staff and how they reflected the individual needs of the resident and even though we were in the most difficult of times, everything was cleaned and wiped down after every visit. The food was excellent and adjusted to meet his needs. I would not hesitate to recommend The Old Lodge to anyone, they not only look after the residents but the family too. I stayed with my partner for the last 3 days and was checked on, given lunch and dinner as well as tea.

The Old Lodge Nursing Home staff have been fantastic throughout my mum’s stay. They were all kind and sincere and made every effort to make sure my mum was cared for and that her needs were always met. The staff were very empathetic and helpful throughout my mum’s stay. They made every effort to ensure we were looked after as well as my mum. Highly recommended.

My dad spent the last few months of his life in this care home and I can honestly say, it was such a good care home. The staff are genuinely caring! My dad was given end of life care and in that time he had left, the care was outstanding! The food is fantastic too, and the place itself is very clean! Thanks to all of the amazing staff there for helping my dad. I would 100 per cent recommend this place to anyone. Thanks to all the staff.
