Grandad has been here for months now, he loves it! He has got new friends and is always having fun. They take an interest in his hobbies. He has put on weight, we get regular updates from the nurses in the home. I wouldn't ever want him to move. The 1st floor does seem to be very crowded but I have noticed everyone can move around the home. I have no concerns. Thanks for looking after my old man he can be a handful.
We highly appreciate your fantastic praise of the home and we are delighted to hear how you noticed all the ways in which your grandad is happy and thriving! He adds so much vitality to our family here at Langdale View and we thank you for the privilege of looking after him.

I am not local to this area and found the home difficult to find due to the wrong name on the door. The admin had apologised for this and I was offered drinks and cakes throughout my visit and asked if I have any allergies before offering, I was shocked and very impressing. The bedroom is very basic but we can customise the room if we wish. I asked for a 1:1 meeting with the manager who looked very busy but she stopped her work to support my request. She was lovely and very helpful and answered all my questions straight away. I came at lunchtime and was given lunch too which was very nice. My mother-in-law looks very well and appears very happy here.
Thank you very much for this particularly insightful review on our staff at Langdale View and some of the small details that highlight what makes them truly special and how they go the extra mile to provide not only person-centred, individualised care, but to support the family’s needs and...
My wife was referred to Longdale View for further assessment following a period of treatment in hospital. She accepted the need to go to a care facility. She says she likes it here and finds the facility and staff very nice. Waiting for Social Service reviews does cause some despondency as her aim is to return home.
Thank you for sharing your wife’s thoughtful comments about our home and staff at Langdale View. We prioritise resident care, keeping our residents safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Our amazing staff ensures that all of our residents receive individualised attention and care. We empathize with...
Top marks for cleanliness. All staff are helpful and polite. Rooms rather spartan. High level of care.

For my brother's condition, Acorn Hill is very adequate and the staff are really very pleasant towards him and others. In the two years my brother has been with you I have no complaints about the care that you have provided him.

I was well looked after. The staff were always very busy and apologetic if they were delayed. Food is usually good but on an occasional cold or too hard. The staff were great during the first visit, especially due to covid and confined to my room. Always helpful with anything I need help with, in particular with the many packages I ordered and received from an online shop! I tried to do as much for myself and the staff was very helpful in supporting me with my ups and downs.
Thank you for your kind praise for Langdale View. At Langdale, we aim to provide the best service to our residents and their family. These have been very hectic and hard times but we ensure that this does not lower our standards. We ensure we provide the residents with inspired living and dignified...
My dad came here as a covid patient and the staff looked after him so well we didn't want him to leave. The Manger was lovely and always wanted to help, the nurses were great. Activities could have been better but dad never complained. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for taking the time to give us this great review in relation to your dads recent experience at Langdale View. I will personally ensure that the Manager and team receives this feedback.
I could not recommend this care home highly enough, they cared for my mum in the most dignified and caring manner after she came out of hospital for end of life care. Each member of staff was so courteous, friendly and professional. It was heartwarming to see them interacting beautifully with the residents in the garden, often having lunch in the sunshine, playing games and laughing with them. The home is spotless and always smelt beautiful. My only regret is not choosing this home for the final couple of years of my mum's life. There is absolutely nothing negative to say, the home is led by an incredible Manager, which reflects upon all the staff members. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after my beautiful mum, I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you for your praise for Langdale View! At Langdale, we strive to provide inspired living and dignified care. We are so thankful for the honest comments you have made towards the home and team at Langdale View. I will pass the comments to the team! Thank you once again!
Staff are very helpful and can't praise their attitude enough. Gives me peace of mind that my mum is in good hands. The activities lady keeps me updated with news on Mum regularly.
Thank you, Mark, for your kind words towards Langdale. We are happy that you are at peace and feel comfortable with Langdale looking after your mother. We will ensure that the line between management, resident and family members is always open.
All the staff are lovely, helpful, and polite when you ask for help with a family member, straight away to help. Always keep family in touch with everything. Even with the manager running 2 homes. Best care home by far. As a nurse, I visit many. Langdale View/Acorn Hill is one of the best.
Thank you for your kind words towards Langdale. At Langdale Care Homes we ensure we try our best to provide exceptional care, a healthy work environment for staff, and a level of family bond across the homes. We believe that keeping the connection and line open between the residents, family...
Today I had my second visit with my Mum. From what I can observe the home looks very clean and all Covid rules are being followed. I had a lovely little visit, firstly being welcomed by the Manager and offered a drink, then by another member of staff, who made me feel welcomed. After my covid test came through negative, I was allowed into the side wing and taken to a pleasant room, where I had my visit with Mum. We had coffee and donuts, which was a lovely treat. It was so nice to be able to sit and chat with Mum in a safe comfortable environment. Thank you to all the staff that made today possible.
Thank you for your kind words. We count ourselves lucky to have you, and your mum part of our Langdale family and to be able to make your visits as enjoyable as possible.
My mum was a resident from September 2014 until July 2020 when she sadly passed away. I and my family cannot praise each and every member of staff who cared for her, from admin staff, care, domestic and management, everyone at Acorn Hill was absolutely superb, but I suppose it's the dedication of the carers and nurses who particularly stand out, delivering high quality professional personal care throughout mums stay. They are an amazing team and I thank each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart. Like me, they too will miss my mum her amazing smile would light up the room. With love and thank you forever to you all.
Thank you so very much for this very positive review. Your mom is sorely missed, and yes, her smile lit up the room. I will ensure that your review is shared with all the staff.
