Overall Experience
Can't fault the Charlton Grange Nursing Home at all. The staff are very helpful and considerate during this stressful and difficult time, with the pandemic and the change from his own home and then hospital to the home.
My father is the type of person who never wanted to go into a nursing home, but after a number of falls, had no option. He was spending his days alone just watching TV without even noticing what was on.
He was placed in the home straight from the hospital and the staff were brilliant. They helped my dad settle in and gave him time and attention that he required to make him feel at home. He now interacts with other residents and staff members. He plays scrabble, bakes and paints.
The staff have been extremely accommodating and helpful with his requirements and they have hung his pictures on the wall.

They have allowed his furniture and this all helps with him settling in. The rooms are of a good proportion and well decorated and look very homely with own furniture and a large wetroom.

My dad arrived here in June 2020, he has settled in well. The staff are all very kind and treat him very well. He tells me the food is excellent and he really enjoys the deserts as they are all homemade.

The activities keep his mind fresh and he enjoys the interaction with the other residents. The management has been very helpful to us as a family at a time that’s been really difficult and challenging with all the COVID restrictions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only negative comment would be the garden could be a little more brighter, more flowers and with more furniture for the visitors.

My wife was admitted to Charlton Grange Nursing Home. Her allotted room was well furnished with en-suite. The manager was very open and informative regarding staff who would be attending to my wife. I was very impressed by the nursing staff who were always on hand should I have any queries. Her room is cleaned regularly and care staff is always available. Contact with Charlton Grange by telephone is excellent and whenever possible phone contact is arranged so that I can speak to my wife.

Overall Experience

I placed my mother in law at Charlton Grange last year. The whole process initially was extremely daunting and heartbreaking. They came to see my mother in law in her house and conducted the assessment. From that moment on, I knew that she would be in good hands. The whole team from the carers to the management were faultless. The carers were able to adapt and ensure that my mother in law settled in very well. Her dementia was extremely well handled by the nurses and carers. Whenever I wished for something to be done, the management team was always on hand day or night to make it happen. My mother in law loved listening to her evening prayers at night:- this was put into action by the team, which meant my mother in law was able to sleep well. The manager was always reviewing medication and was constantly reviewed by the team and management, and I was constantly kept up to date with any changes. Her sensitive approach was extremely heartwarming.

Overall Experience
At the start of the pandemic, mum was really poorly, we thought it was end of life care stage. Hugely difficult at any time but doubly so with so many measures in place to manage the risk of Covid-19. The staff and care home were amazing, did everything possible to ensure Mum got the drugs and food she so badly needed. She turned a corner and for that, we will be forever grateful.
Mum seems settled, as much as is possible with mixed dementia, she is clean and cared for, she loves the staff, always hugging and kissing them which speaks for itself.

I would like to express my eternal gratitude for the love and care my mum receives and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the home.

My mother was a resident from September 2019 she was unhappy with the move from another care home but staff were friendly, patient and caring they pointed out it would take time to settle. Her room was peaceful always clean. She had several visits to hospital each time welcomed back. She grew to care for the staff who looked after her with incredible care and deputised for us the critical end moments of her life during easter 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 epidemic. The staff were amazing and selfless thank you.

The staff are all extremely friendly and caring towards the patients. They do everything possible to ensure they are as settled and happy as possible by taking into account personal requirements and individual needs.

They have also been really conscientious and accommodating over the difficult last few months of Covid-19 restrictions.

The home was understaffed and full of agency staff but the new management have made a lot of changes and confirmed there are only full-time staff.
The rooms are being decorated and there are a lot of changes being made.
It is a lovely nursing home with very caring staff.
I would thoroughly recommend it. They go the extra mile with all the residents.

We have no complaints at all.

My father was resident here from August 2017 - February 2018. I looked at a few homes for him and was most impressed with this one. My judgement proved right. The staff really care about the residents showing them genuine kindness.

The level of care my mum receives from the care/support staff is exceptional and her safety is always at the forefront. I also feel that she is treated with dignity and respect at all times and I cannot recommend them highly enough. She is encouraged to come out of her room and participate in any activities that are going on. She also has her lunch in the dining area now as opposed to eating in her room.

We were greeted by very friendly staff who were helpful and showed us around. The home is clean, nicely decorated and organised. The bedrooms are light and airy with plenty of room. The lounges are big and used for activities. The home has a lovely garden.
They offer lots for the service users.

We enjoyed the visit and look forward to coming again.
