Friendly and caring staff. Food is good standard and can't fault the level of cleanliness.
Variety of activities and trips provided is excellent.
The only negative is that during a bout of diarrhoea and vomiting on the unit the relatives weren't informed whether it was safe to return to visit.
I
entered the unit after being informed the day before by phone that the D and V had cleared only to find that this was not the case. There was no notice anywhere to inform us of this at the time. We fed this back to the staff.
Other than this one occasion I have only praise for the unit. My mother in law has been well cared for and I would be happy to recommend it to others. I would be happy to be cared for myself.
Reply from Krishnaprasad Mullekattu, Home Manager at Little Heath Care & SupportThank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We really appreciate your kind comments about our staff, cleanliness, food, and the activities provided. It is reassuring to hear that your mother-in-law feels well cared for and that you would recommend our service-this means a great deal to the whole team. I am, however, sorry to hear about the confusion during the recent episode of diarrhoea and vomiting on the unit. We have ensured appropriate steps are in place to ensure there wont be any future issues.

As I have said many times before- there is little to say because everything is fine. The only thing I would like it to have lunch at 1pm (or 12:30) and tea at 6pm (or 6:30). Keep the good work up- thanks. Marks 11 out of 10.
Reply from Lewis Farrell, Manager at Little Heath Reablement & Support CentreGood morning JS,
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review based on your experiance of living at Little Heath Reablement.
It is great to see that you have such a positive view of the service. I know we have discussed your meal times and that you are able to have your meals whenever you like, however, the reisdents all have their meals in the dining room at those set times which you like to attend for the social aspect, which is understandable.
All feedback is valued and communicated with the staff team who are very proud of the service they provide.

This was the second stay for my Mum and the care she received was excellent. Also My Dad was there for a couple of weeks too at the same time. Lewis and his team including the carers and nurses were so kind to them both. They looked after Mum and Dad so well and treated me like a member of their family.
Nothing was too much trouble for Mum or Dad and they showed so much kindness, empathy and always cheerful.
It was always clean, tidy and the food was good. I can never thank you all enough for everthing you did for my parents and our family and would definitely recommend Little Heath Reablement and Support Centre
Reply from Lewis Farrell, Manager at Little Heath Reablement & Support CentreGood afternoon,

Since my Mum came to Little Heath Reablement, as a permanent resident, we have been so impressed by the care she has received.
Mum arrived very frail and unwell but since arriving in 2024 she has gone from strength to strength. She has gained weight and is now looking so much healthier.
I cannot
fault the care she receives, both residents and family are always treated with dignity and respect. Staff are all super friendly and take time to get to know residents (making the environment very homely).
Little Heath does not feel like a care home at all and I can highly recommend.
Reply from Lewis Farrell, Manager at Little Heath Reablement & Support CentreGood afternoon,

The team and I are so pleased that you have seen this positive change since your mums admission. I am also pleased that you and your family feel welcomed into the home when you visit mum. It is great to hear that you have witnessed dignity and respect being upheled with relation to your mums care.
I will pass this lovely review onto the further team, they will be very proud to hear this.

I cannot rate Little Heath enough for the care and the support they gave to my mum and to me and my sister during mums stay. She was cared for and genuinely loved by all staff. We knew we could leave her after visiting and know that she was safe and cared for. Mum knew that as well and called Little
Heath her home. She adored all the staff and always had a flow of visitors from Little Heath, visiting her or just popping the head round her door to say hello. I will forever be grateful to them all.
Reply from Lewis Farrell, Manager at Little Heath Reablement & Support CentreGood morning Estelle, Thank you so much for sharing your families lovely feedback, again, we really appreciate you taking the time to do so. The team all had such special connections with your mum as you know. I am so pleased that you felt your mum was safe and at home, that is always our goal and I am pleased you felt this was achieved. You are a lovely family who the team also loved getting to know and developed lovely connections with. I will share this feedback with the team who will be very proud to hear this. Thank you again! Take care, Lewis :)

When Mum moved to Deerhust, we were doubtful that she would see her next birthday as her physical and mental health had deteriorated so much. Almost exactly 5 years later, we can't believe how quickly she settled and how well she has been. It was hard for us to accept that we couldn't meet all her needs,
but gradually we realised why our friend had recommended Deerhurst so highly, and are so glad Mum is here. The manager and staff are so efficient and use such effective approaches to meet everyone's needs (including families'). But most importantly they are caring, they laugh, dance and also sit quietly chatting, listening and understanding.
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you so much your comments will mean so much to the staff that care for your mum, hard to believe that it's been 5 years I remember visiting her at home and it's been a pleasure being able to support you all- thanks you x

My mother arrived at Deerhurst in such poor physical and emotional condition after being physically and emotionally abused by carers at a large, big brand care home.
The carers at Deerhurst were horrified by her condition, swollen legs, cellulitis and wounds on her shins that had been ineffectively
treated for quite some time.
My mother has dementia so the move was quite distressing for her but the staff at every level are so patient and kind that she settled in much more quickly than we anticipated (and has never been so moisturised in her life!).
She's been at Deerhurst now for two years and is content, there's so many things going on with themed weeks, incursions, excursions there's no time for boredom . The care Home staff are so committed and dedicated to the residents physically, emotionally as well enabling as much as possible my mother's sense of self and agency.
At Deerhurst respect is a guarantee not an added bonus. I'm delighted and relieved mums here.
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you for such a thoughtful & kind review your comments will make the staff feel very proud, to enable residents to feel loved & respected is our mission so I'm happy to hear that's what we get right Thank you from everyone at Deerhurst

This care home is just simply wonderful! The staff are all lovely, friendly and welcoming.
The care home itself has a warm cozy and relaxed feel. All the staff go above and beyond to make not just my father but every resident happy content and safe. There are activities every day, this is something
that is very unique as we have had an experience before with a different care Home that my father was in. They have singers in, all different types of
entertainment. Art classes, cooking classes, lots of choices of board games and books from library. They have relaxation time, which is just lovely. Farm yard animals and even reptiles. The children from the local school write to the residents. The local church pop in and sometimes they have a sing song. The food and choices of food, it is in my eyes outstanding different choices of bread, lots of choices of breakfasts whatever drink that they would require Deerhurst has. Deerhurst always smells clean and everything is alway clean
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you so much for you kind review we focus on keeping people occupied & stimulated to enhance quality of life & involving families because that's important to everyone we support - the team will be happy to read your comments

My partner has been in Deerhurst care home for just over a year now. He is very settled there, he knows and likes all the staff and they all know him and his likes and dislikes, his needs and his medical issues. All the staff are unfailingly kind, considerate and very alert to the residents needs. I
have observed on many occasions whilst visiting my partner how quickly the staff respond to any situations that might arise, usually defusing problems before they happen. It really is an excellent care home, I wouldn't want my loved one to be anywhere else.
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you so much it's always lovely to receive feedback as I share with all the staff & it gives them a boost - it's a pleasure to look after your partner & we thank you for all your support too x

Mum has been resident at Deerhurst for two and a half years now. She will not ask for the help she needs and when living on her own was making unsafe decisions. Staff respect her wish to remain as independent as possible whilst being very caring and mindful of the need to keep her safe. To achieve this
they have made adjustments that suit Mum.
It is a huge relief to our family seeing Mum both content and so well cared for. There is such a variety of daily activities and outings, many of which Mum really enjoys. I have never encountered a staff member who was anything but kind, caring and cheerful. Internal communication is brilliant as is that with relatives. The leadership is excellent and it shows in every aspect of Deerhurst.
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you so much for your lovely review, the team will be very proud to read what you have written & it's a pleasure to support your mum to be as Independent as possible - thank you

I can not praise Lesley and her team enough.
My husband has Huntingtons Disease, which he was diagnosed with on the 16th October 2007. It was devastating news as you can imagine but we grabbed life by the horns and travelled the world.
As Robins conditioned worsened he started having respite
at Deerhurst then on 30th July 2020. Not being political, but that was the day the prime minister held his party in the middle of Covid when we were not mixing at all .
This meant I was unable to visit Robin for 3 months. However, i waved at him through thr front doot of home. Lesley contacted me immediately a room was available and he moved in full time.
Lesley and her team do not only care for Robin but me and my family, which is wonderful and I have made many new friends within the wider Brunelcare organisation.

Visited my sister as I do most weeks. She was having her breakfast with other residents, dressed as I would expect to see her re.expressing her personality in her matching clothes, jewellery and hair neatly done.
Staff work hard to ensure residents individuality shines through, even when the individual
can not longer express themselves.
All staff on duty that morning said hello and expressed an interested in what we were planning to do during the visit.
The qualified nurse gave me an update on current health concern and what was happening to follow-up a referral.
Always reassuring that my sister is being cared for by people who know her well (previous job role, interests and activities), and are always happy to support family who visit.
Reply from Lesley Hobbs, Home manager at DeerhurstThank you for such a lovely review it is important that everyone is recognised for their personality, life contributions, family & what matters to them for them to feel valued and respected & that's our main purpose when we support our residents. The atmosphere of Deerhurst is bright, warm and welcoming. The mood of the entire staff is without fault. They are accessible, available, genuinely interested in the residents and their families and the trained staff go above and beyond to liaise with next of kin to ascertain the best course if action
for each resident and include the resident in any decision making should they have capacity.
Visiting is a truly heartwarming experience.
Activities are stimulating, conducted at a suitable pace and all are encouraged to take part to the best of their ability if they so wish.
I gave never regretted my choice of Deerhurst.

My lovely daddy was in Deerhurst for 3 years. He died there in the middle of last year. During his last weeks, (and the 3 previous years) all of the staff were so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond in talking to him, looking after him and keeping me informed at all times. Two of them were
with him when he died in the early hours of the morning and I'm incredibly grateful for this. Deerhurst is the place where I was happy to leave him after a visit (or as happy as you can be, given you can't be with him 24/7). He had dementia and at times could be very grumpy (enough to try the patience of a saint), but they all, without exception, were so caring and lovely. There are huge amounts of daily activities, trips out, visitors etc. If he had chosen to do them all, he would have been a very busy man! I would highly recommend Deerhurst, run by Lesley and her team of absolute stars. You are very, very, unlikely to find a better, happier and more caring community of people.
