My auntie is in Bracken Unit at Little heath care home. She is well looked after and the staff are polite and so helpfull. The place/unit is spotless and so tidy. We looked around and instantly knew this was the place for our relative. We felt at home. Staff keeps us in the loop at all times. We as
a family are so grateful and will help in any way to raise funds in any possible way. Thank you Bracken Unit Little Heath

My mother has been in this care home, her own choice of where she wanted to live, for the last 3.5 years and is very happy and well looked after on Bracken unit. The home is always clean and her visitors say how nice it is when they visit. Most of the staff are friendly and very caring and the individual
rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and have a high standard of comfort. The food is mostly good, certainly there is a good variety of choices each day and the activities team are absolutely brilliant in making it an enjoyable and fun place to be for those who can attend anything they organise. All the activity team do their best to make sure all residents are invited and help them join in many things including bingo, music therapy, cinema viewings, cooking, decorating for events, trips out in the minibus and many more. If you ask my mum about how she feels about living there, she will say she is very happy.

Bracken Unit has been my elderly aunts home for almost a year now. As a family it is so reassuring to visit her knowing just how well she is cared for. Staff are always polite, helpful and cheerful, which can only make this a lovely place to live. The unit is always clean and tidy. We are always welcomed
and have even held a birthday party for my aunt. Staff seems to make lots of effort to make this place feel like home!

After visiting many care homes, little heath was the only one I wanted my mum to go to. As soon as you walk through the doors, greeted by friendly staff and management who go's above and beyond in welcoming you through a difficult distressing time. Now 16 mths on nothing has changed. All staff throughout
departments friendly professional in what job they do. The homemakers do a fantastic job entertaining residents daily doing various activities and go on outings. The home is clean, homely and fresh, the rooms are spacious (better than some hotels). The meals are adequate for the residents appetite, I sometimes get a taste of what's on the menu and pass on any compliments to the kitchen staff which I have on occasions. The outside garden wrap around building where residents and
visiting families can walk, talk and sit take in the view and fresh air and quiet time. If any concerns (which I've had none thus far) I know management would deal with it straight away. I'm grateful & thankful

I can't put into words how grateful I am of this home. My best friend of only 46 years old, unfortunately has dementia was placed in a nursing home for the last couple of years. Her previous home she was neglected in many ways. I was looking for a new home for her and came across Deerhurst and oh my
goodness me from stepping through the doors. I knew this was the place for her. The manager, her team go above and beyond to ensure every resident is valued and cared for to the highest standard. They look after all of their residents like they are part of their family. You can see this as you wonder around the home there's not one resident is in their room. They are all enjoying the amazing amount of activities that are going on. My friend has improved so much her mood has been lifted every picture of her. I see of her smiling away, brings me so much joy. I'm so grateful to you all. Five stars is not enough.Xx

My mother has been a resident since 3/2024. She is very happy and content. When she entered she was very frail and confused. Over the months the nurses, carers and staff have brought her back to a stable condition. She has put on weight, enjoyed outings, had great attention, loves the food. I cannot
speak highly enough of her team and the nursing home in general.

My Father has been resident at Little Heath for over 3 years. The staff all look to make his stay as comfortable and interesting as possible. If there are any health concerns these are effectively dealt with obtaining professional medical opinion if required. There are so many options for involvement
in activities that are stimulating and enjoyable for him. Staff know him so well they know which ones he loves. He is also included in days out to activities and visits to places of interest - all maintaining as 'normal' as possible a life for him.
The team at Little Heath are constantly looking at ways of improving and this includes the recent addition of a pub serving non alcoholic drinks where it's great to enjoy a drink in a really relaxed pub like atmosphere.

Shhh...don't tell anyone about the fantastic caring home nestled between Kingswood and Soundwell called Deerhurst. Mum has been a resident for over a year. Every time you think they cannot improve on the care or experiences for the residents living there, they do. The residents have the opportunity
to live their final years fully, doing things they enjoy with love, care and support from all the staff and volunteers. Nothing is too much trouble or beyond the staff to organise. It is not only the residents that are supported and cared for, the relatives are as well. When we first walked into Deerhurst I noticed a poster saying "Our residents do not live in our workplace - we work in their home" and it is so true, it is their home filled with love, laughter, fun, care and support.
When mum moved into Deerhurst she was lost and haunted by her dementia but now she has a lovely rapport with all the staff, her eyes say it all, they are sparkly and she smiles a lot. I couldn't ask for more.

I have found Robinson House to get better over the last year and there are a number of staff who are wonderful and really care. Sometimes I go in and there is no one around but they do have a lot of residents in rooms. The rooms and decor are much improved as the fees, albeit competitive are massive
and the system stinks. There should be more help or tax breaks for people who have saved all their lives. The home is very convenient for me and although mum is asleep a lot in the days, she goes on some fab trips organised by the team who are amazing. Also the food and kitchen staff are great. I am happy with it now as didn't feel it was being managed in past year very well. Would recommend.

My father in law has been a resident of the home for the past year. We made the very difficult decision to move him to the home after his dementia and general health declined. It was the best decision the day to day worry about his well being and safety has been removed. All the staff at Deerhurst have
been very welcoming to him and us. The home provides a bright and cheerful environment. They have take time to get to know his likes and habits, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. There are a huge amount of activities on offer in the home, which are enjoyed by the residents and relatives are always welcome to join in. The manager's door is always open and all the staff are approachable and knowledgeable. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

This year, my father moved to Deerhurst after previously living alone. From the moment he arrived, the entire team has worked hard to make him feel welcome, adapting to his needs and making him feel at home. I have confidence that any issues that arise have been and will be addressed promptly, and we
will always be consulted and can feel secure that he is as safe as he can be.

Deerhurst is like the answer to a prayer. My partner is being looked after by wonderful, caring people who know him very well and are understanding of all his moods. He has Alzheimers and can sometimes get quite stroppy, but the staff are unfailingly patient with him. There are activities every day
to provide stimulus, lots of music and laughter, it's a very happy place. The staff are constantly updating their training, they are so empathetic and so, so caring to residents and families alike.

I've been visiting for the last 5 yrs and have always found staff polite, caring and approachable whether they are part of the care staff, housekeeping, kitchen or admin.
Individual rooms and facilities are always kept clean, the wet rooms could be modernised but perfectly functionable however, would
also be nice for Mum to have at least a weekly bath.
Food is always good, sometimes a little repetitive. For a small charge relatives can also eat, a daily menu of soup , choice of two main courses and dessert is always confirmed in advance and the kitchen staff can be flexible if necessary and able to offer an alternative to the daily menu.
Activities are varied including occasional trips out and monthly entertainers which Mum enjoys. Relatives can join in too. Sadly in the last few years both the tea room and quiet room have been repurposed.
Care is good but staff levels seem low which, in my opinion, feels staff no longer have time to just sit with residents for any length of time.
