Coming to live at Middleton House was the best thing I've ever done - it totally changed my life. I can't speak highly enough of the staff. We have a wide range of residents here from all walks of life which makes it a very interesting place to live. We have a restaurant which is always trying to do better and better. We have enjoyable activities and talks and events - no reason to be bored. The apartments are just the right size. I love it here!
My dad died in Oct 2025, leaving my mother on her own in a house that they had lived in for 63 years. The only source of heating was a multi-fuel fire which my brother would not be able to maintain. I new she would not survive this winter, so I approached the management at Jazz Court, Scarborough....
The team have given her a new life. My mum loves the foyer, the garden, the activities. This is the reason we could only tick excellent in every box. The team at Jazz Court work very, very hard to give an excellent experience.

Our experience at Middleton House has been mixed although the overall experience is good. We have put 'satisfactory' against 'treated with dignity' because although the office staff are wonderful, care staff were on the whole poor, with little regard (from some) for the person in their care, talking about my mother as if she wasn't there. Kitchen staff are excellent, being kind, and preparing varied meals.The activities that the office staff put on, were interesting, and varied, cleanliness is very good.

Sanctuary do sometimes take a long time to rectify repairs but I understand that is mainly due to costs. Overall Roman Ridge is a great place to live.

This home is not at a good standard. The staff are rarely here on the weekends and the security is lax. The meals at the restaurant are poorly priced, there is no option to have a small portion, the only option is to have the full portion at full price and this is too much food at too high a cost...
This home is not at a good standard. The staff are rarely here on the weekends and the security is lax. The meals at the restaurant are poorly priced, there is no option to have a small portion, the only option is to have the full portion at full price and this is too much food at too high a cost for some people. The attitude of the staff is very mixed some of them are very harsh towards residents and seem indifferent to our feelings. The WiFi which they promised to have installed is still not working and yet residents are being charged. The home itself is in poor repair and repairs take a very long time. The lounge carpet was recently flooded with sewage after the drains backed up, this was a few weeks ago and the lounge is still out of bounds for this. When my mum first moved in it was fantastic but the standards have slipped massively over the past few years. If standards do not improve then my mum will look elsewhere.

Security includes upgraded CCTV, a fob-access system for resident-only areas, and 24/7 care staff on-site. Residents have full independence with their own apartment keys and freedom to come and go as they wish. Our restaurant offers a variety of portion sizes and lighter options, with pricing set centrally by our Hospitality team. We acknowledge that maintenance issues can sometimes take longer than expected due to external approvals and contractor delays. Please be assured we actively log and chase all repairs, and keep residents updated throughout. We're pleased to share that new Wi-Fi is being installed at the end of this week. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss the points raised, we kindly encourage you to speak with the service manager in the first instance who is there to support you and would welcome the opportunity to help.

I have found it has changed since I came in. The staff try very hard to do things with us. Just lately we have people who have dementia who find it hard to conform. I do help them as much as I can but its difficult. I would use the restaurant but due to price I can only go in now again.
