My brother was prescribed end of life care at his own home, but since being in Feltwell Lodge Care Home, although he has dementia, I have my happy, fun loving brother back. He's out of bed, joining in with activities, smiling, singing and eating all of the amazing food there. The staff are all amazing,
kind and caring, and all his needs are being met.
Fantastic, I would highly recommend this care home.

Angie and her team have beeen very supportive, friendly and caring when our dear mum moved into Burlingham House in February. They have gone above and beyond with their help and support. Carers are excellent and really care for mum in a personal manner for her own needs. Mum is settling in now and adjusting
to her new routine.
Thank you all for supporting us at this difficult time.

My wife is 65 and a foreign national and has Alzheimer's so has lapsed into her native language although she can understand and speak English. These could present a problem but everyone at the care home talk to her and are so friendly. This extends to the management who welcome residents to sit in
the office and chat.
She has been there since August last year and ever time I ask her if she is happy I get the answer "very Happy"
Although I hate her being away from home I know she is in the best place and in good hands given her condition

Review relating to October 2025.
Our family member was a resident at this care home and was known to be approaching the end of her life. This had been discussed in advance, and we had asked about communication procedures should her condition worsen.
On the day of her death, an email was sent stating
that her breathing had become laboured. No telephone call was made to any family member at that time, despite phone contact being used on other occasions.
By the time we became aware and arrived, our mother had already passed away, meaning we were unable to be with her at the end.
This review is not about preventing death, which we understood was expected. It is about communication at a critical moment and the importance of informing family promptly when end-of-life signs are present. After her death, we asked for clarification as to why no phone call was made, but this has not been clearly explained still to date. Would encourage families to ensure that end-of-life communications are clear
Reply from Walter Dzvairo, Nominated Individual at Feltwell LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your experience. First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to you and your family. Losing a loved one is never easy, and we understand how important those final moments are.
End-of-life care and communication are matters we treat with the utmost seriousness. In this instance, the circumstances surrounding communication were reviewed both internally and by the relevant regulatory authorities. Following a full review, the case was closed with no further action required.
In line with agreed procedures and the documented care plan, contact was made with the nominated Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) at the time. We understand that there may have been differing expectations regarding who should be contacted and how, and we recognise how distressing this situation has been for you. While we are unable to discuss specific details publicly due to confidentiality obligations. Once again, we are truly sorry for your loss.

Burlingham House care home is an absolutely wonderful care facility.
My dad had a bad fall and was discharged from hospital to Burlingham House as he was at risk of further falls.
I cannot praise Angie, Layla, All the care staff and ancillary staff enough - they were all fantastic,
Dad was warmly
welcomed from the moment he arrived and he was shown the utmost love and care from everyone who came into contact with him.
Devastatingly, dad suddenly passed way after a couple of weeks and the respect, dignity and kindness that was demostrated to dad and our family was outstanding in the very sad circumstances. Angie the Manager even came in to support us even though she was away on leave - she cut her holiday short to be there for us.
The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spacious.
They made a very sad experience so much more bearable for us and I will be forever grateful
Reply from Angie Venables, Registered Manager at Burlingham HouseThankyou so much for this wonderful review. It was a pleasure looking after dad.

Mum has been in Burlingham house for 5 months now and seems settled and happy. The staff are amazing, kind, compassionate, caring, funny and above all look after my Mum with respect. I feel the pressure taken off me and can now enjoy quality time with mum. They keep me informed of any/all changes in
mum's well-being. The choice of meals is great, and plenty of variety. They have plenty of activities to do , should they choose to participate. I feel happy that my mum is being well cared for with good people and a beautiful home to live in.

My dad has just returned from two weeks respite care and I cannot fault anything. The staff have all been absolutely amazing, so kind and caring and professional. Also, so accurate with a large amount of regular medication. Great food too, I'm told!
Thank you all, we would not hesitate to use
you again in the future should the need arise.

The care that my Mother received at Burlingham House. was excellent. I couldn't fault anything. The amazing staff are friendly, caring, nothing was too much trouble. The staff always welcomed you in with a smile. My goodness the food looked and smelted delicious. My Mother and other resident were always
clean and well presented. The Manager and Staff made my Mother feel welcome she soon became a part of their family.
I came to visit Mum weekly and I always felt happy when I left, knowing that she was happy.
Unfortunately mum's stay was only for 6+ weeks as she sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep.
The support, empathy provided at mum passing was amazing. If you are thinking of putting your loved one into a care home then I would recommend you put them into Burlingham House as this home deserves to rated as a 10

My aunt was admitted to Burlingham House in July 2020 following a capability assessment by the council. She was looked after, from the start, very well and settled in easily and she soon accepted being there. At that time her memory loss was only limited, so her move could have been problematic but
it was not.
She has been very well cared for right up to the time of her decline in the last few months and death on 27th September at the age of 101. Last year, when she had her 100th Birthday, Burlingham staff made a great effort to arrange a party for her and for all the residents, including laying on an opera singer - as my aunt was a keen member of a choir when younger. My aunt was single and none of her family lived close, so Burlingham staff became her family. In her last days, they and the local doctor worked together to ensure that she was in minimal pain and discomfort. Many of her relations were able to visit her in this time and to say goodbye. A big thank you!

I have had a very positive experience with Mum's care at Burlingham House
for the last four months.
The managers and carers are very professional, caring and friendly,
nothing is too much trouble they never complain about my numerous questions
and needs for Mum.
The food is to a high standard
and when Mum is not feeling hungry, they
will try and prepare something specially for her.
I can relax and know Mum is being very well cared for.
Cannot thank them enough.

My husband was a resident in Burlingham House for 2 months before he passed away. We were both well cared for I cannot praise the carers enough. When I visited they always greeted me by my Christian name. When he became quite frail I didn't want to leave him and in his last few days they arranged for
me to stay near him. I was always looked after well. There were always lots of activities going on for the residents. We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner and Christmas party. Children from a nearby school came in to sing carols on one of the days leading up to Christmas. I cannot praise them enough, carers and managers.

Having previously had experience working in several homes within Norfolk, I can confidently say this care home is one of the best I have visited. All the staff are very friendly and are always ready to have a chat and a laugh with both residents and their relatives. They are all very welcoming and well-trained
to do the job. The home itself is very homely, especially with all the recent refurbishments. The kitchen staff provide excellent food with a great variety. The maintenance team do a great job keeping the home clean and maintained. Activities coordinators keep the residents busy with a different variety of activities including 1:1. Also decorating the home for different events/seasons etc which is nice to see. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My mum lives at Burlingham House and I live in the US. I cannot speak highly enough of the team of caregivers and the quality of service she receives. The communication is excellent and I always feel informed about what is happening with her care.
On a recent visit, I was impressed to learn we could
visit at any time. Every visit my Mum was well cared for, in clean clothing and engaged in great activities. Despite her advanced dementia, she is still able to bake and enjoy her time. Every staff member we encountered was caring and seemed to know Mum well as an individual.
This is a caring, clean, person centered environment! The staff have a wonderful sense of humour and I really enjoyed my visits to Mum. It left me feeling peaceful knowing she is well cared for.

Burlingham House Care Home has provided very good care for my mother over the past few years and I would recommend it to anyone considering residential care for a loved one. Burlingham House have worked with my mother to get her back to the point where she can return home to live with me and my partner.
She was in a very poor state when she first went there and thanks to them, she is back on track. Care staff are very friendly and do go above and beyond. My mum became quite attached to certain members of staff, as they became attached to her. She will return for respite care at some point in the future as I know she will be in safe hands there. I would say I built up a very strong relationship with the manager, in particular. She was always responsive to my emails, calls, requests and any suggestions.

The staff at Burlingham House are very kind, caring and approachable. They take great care of each resident, building good relationships with them and their families. I feel that my brother is very well cared for and liked, he is encouraged to take part in daily activities with staff and other residents.
Which he enjoys.
The staff also arrange other activities for the residents and their families for example; A BBQ, Afternoon Tea, singers and other entertainment etc.
Should I have any concerns I am able to discuss with any member of staff and feel listened to and receive support when needed. I know my brother is safe and well cared for.

My father was a resident at Burlingham House for just over 2 years, until his death earlier this year and I cannot praise the staff at the home enough for the excellent care they gave to him.
When it became obvious that my father's Alzheimer's meant he could no longer remain in his own home, we worried
about him being admitted to a care home. However, all our concerns were unfounded once he moved to Burlingham House, he loved this place and actually thought he was staying in a posh hotel!
All the staff are lovely and it was obvious they cared about all the residents. We were warmly welcomed when we visited (there was always tea and biscuits or cake for us too!). During Covid, we were kept updated, with phone calls and video calls so we could keep in touch. They also run a wonderful social media page, full of photos & updates so we could see what he was up to.
Overall, I would highly recommend Burlingham House.

I can’t praise Burlingham House enough. The managers and all the staff are first class. They work as a team and are carers in the true sense of the word. As families, we are kept updated with our loved one's health, and the Facebook page is a real blessing in these troubled times. No matter who answers
the phone, they always know what your relative has been up to and how they are. They involve residents in so much to keep them motivated each to their own ability. As a family, we are now content in the knowledge that my husband is happy after two previous failures! Lastly the food! Always looks beautifully presented and mealtimes are a joy. Keep up the good work, guys. You so deserve!
