Can't fault the care from the staff, friendly and compassionate.
My nan has been in this care home for almost a year now and I couldn't speak higher of them, they take such good care of her. She's made friends and always chats away when I visit. They send me photos and always have updates on her eating and moods. Always willing to help with hospital visits and any health care.
Can't fault the staff who look after my ninety-two years old mum, they really make a fuss of her, Mum is always spotlessly clean with her hair and nails done regularly. The rooms are clean and tidy with everything Mum needs. The food is excellent and Mum always seems to be starting or finishing a cuppa. Saw Mum today and she was having a sing-along with the other residents. Great.
My mum was a resident of Abbottswood for 5 years up until 2 weeks ago when she passed away peacefully there after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Throughout her time there, from the first to the last moment, mum was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity by the Manager and her lovely, caring and friendly team. The home itself is always clean and tidy, and mum could not get enough of the lovely home-cooked food! Whenever I visited, sometimes unannounced, mum was always clean and beautifully presented, with her hair and nails nicely done just as she liked. I was always made very welcome and the Covid measures were always taken very seriously. Whenever I was unable to visit, I was always contacted with any updates. I cannot thank the manager and her team enough for looking after mum so well in her final years, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Abbottswood. Thank you.
Mum went to Abbottswood Lodge Care Home for a month's respite, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful if they tried. They always kept us informed on any issues. The food always smelt great and made sure plenty of fluids were at hand. The home was very Covid safe, making sure every visit was with a daily negative result. If Mum had to go to full care this would be our first choice of home.
I visit my uncle mostly during the week and I find the overall standard excellent, care/support is good. They are treated with dignity. The staff are excellent and they have an excellent manager who goes above and beyond. The rooms are well kept and the overall facilities are well looked after and cleanliness is very good. Food and drink is of a high standard. They have activities to keep interaction between patients and staff and I notice safety/security is given a very high priority so that everyone is secure. I think as a care home Abbottswood Lodge is good value for money.
I am very happy with the professional and warm hearted care my sister is receiving from Abbottswood Lodge care home, this care home has improved in all areas since the new manager has taken over the running of the home, knowing my sister is getting the care she needs gives me peace of mind, as my sister is bed bound and can not feed herself, she needs full on care, I have seen a vast improvement in the way the staff work within the home, I would recommend this care home to those looking for a clean, professional, understanding, kind, home for their loved ones, and to the staff at Abbottswood Lodge thank you for all the care you give to my sister and the peace of mind you give me.
I am very happy with the care Mum receives at Abbottswood Lodge. The manager and carers are very professional and understanding of Mum's condition. She is treated with dignity and always appears to be clean and well dressed. Especially pleased with the help Mum received with a dental problem when the carers took Mum to the dentist twice.
My husband was taken into care at Abbottswood Lodge in Feb 2021. The manager and the staff were so kind and caring, especially as my husband was rather a difficult patient. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who needs good care in a homely place. All the staff were fantastic and the home-cooked food was excellent.
I am very pleased to say I think you are all doing a very good job of looking after my mother.
Since my mother has resided at Abbottswood Lodge her general health has shown significant improvement. The level of care she receives from the very caring staff is outstanding and as such means less worry for her relatives. The home has a very warm and caring feel to it and the residents always seem very relaxed and happy. Any medical problems or issues are dealt with efficiently and her weight and general demeanour are always noted and reported back to us, a great comfort in itself. I would always recommend Abbottswood Lodge to any friend looking for a caring home for their loved one.
Amazing care home, brilliant staff, great with visits and doing a fantastic job with protecting the care home from covid. Fed very well, always doing activities and fun things with the residents. Would 100% recommend.
My Dad is suffering from late-stage dementia and his behaviour became much too difficult and frankly too dangerous for my Mum to be able to cope with. Dad has completely lost his mental capacity, however, at this time he is still very physically fit and strong. Dad was put into Abbottswood Lodge initially for thirty days, so that my Mum could have a rest and for Dad's situation to be determined at the end of this time period. However, Dad spent seven weeks at Abbottswood Lodge and was treated with such love and care that you would have thought he was being looked after by family members. The staff at Abbottswood Lodge went above and beyond in the manner that they cared for my Dad and the way that he was looked after was absolutely fantastic. Myself and my family will always be thankful that Dad received such compassion and care. The manager was simply fantastic and provided a standard of care that was exemplary. We feel blessed that Dad went here as he was looked after so well.
All the care staff are amazing and take great care with all the residents. My Nan has been at Abbottswood Lodge for over a year now, and she thoroughly enjoys staying here. All the carers are lovely and friendly, and it's nice to see how much they care. I would 100% recommend this care home.
My mum has been at Abbottswood for about 18months. She has always felt very safe and cared for and loves the food. The staff are always available and are very caring. The food is homemade, well presented and looks great. The facility is very clean and never has that awful care home smell of urine. Visitors are made very welcome. The manager is very professional, approachable and instils a great culture. It has a very comforting and happy atmosphere.
I could not be happier with the care and attention mum has received since she has been in the home. I know she is in very safe hands and could not commend the staff more. Whenever we visit the staff make us very welcome.
My Mum has been a resident of Abbottswood Lodge care home since December 2019 and I cannot emphasise how great all the staff are. The care she receives is beyond exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. The team are always very accommodating with anything you need to discuss with them and they will always go out of their way to help. The carers are absolutely 5-star, they show her so much love and this is lovely to see. The care home is kept very clean at all times. I would recommend Abbottswood Lodge care home.
I’m happy with how my mother has been looked after and cared for in the 2 years she has been there, have always found the staff to be very friendly on our visits and show great love and respect for the residents. The Care Home is always kept clean and warm. Would have no hesitation on recommending this establishment to others.
Especially in this very difficult year, nothing has been to much trouble, thank you
I had a visit with my mum today, and it was really nice - I held her hand. The staff were so lovely, friendly and very helpful, and made sure I had a really nice visit. I am really looking forward to my next visit.
