I have been here for only three months but have found everything good. I cannot fault it but I have found the staff to be particularly helpful in every way. They are always pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Had a very good, in-depth discussion about my uncle's interests and hobbies with a view to encouraging him in activities in the home. This was wonderful to know that the activities at the home are not a general 'one size fits all' and that residents are able to engage in whatever suits the individual. My uncle is a keen amateur painter and having some of his own work hanging in his room is a reminder daily of what he is capable of and he is starting to take it up again.

When I arrived, a singer was present and most residents happily joined in and my uncle remembered his dancing days and danced with the carers. A joy to experience!

Mum is well looked after by the caring staff and we are pleased with the attitude and helpfulness of everyone we come in contact with, although not the most modern of facilities Mum is happy and content here and that is the most important thing.

This is the second care home my husband has been in. At last, he seems more relaxed. The staff are caring and have taken the time to understand and cater for his needs. I have confidence in the team at Chestnut Court Rest Home and have no problem with recommending this 'genuine' care home.

Mum is now very settled and says the staff are very caring and friendly. Management staff were very efficient in admitting Mum to the home when it became apparent that she could no longer cope at home.

My mother has been living in her own home with domiciliary carers going in four times a day but, at 95 and now unable to be safe there, the time came for her to have 24-hour care.
We visited Chestnut Court Rest Home and were immediately struck by the warm atmosphere, cleanliness and all-round good vibe. The deputy manager talked us through everything and was happy to answer all of our questions. On the day Mum moved in, everything possible was done to make the transition smooth and welcoming.
We were asked to provide lots of helpful information about Mum's life, interests and family to assist the carers with subjects to open conversation with her.
She has now been happily settled in her newly carpeted and decorated room for one month. I can honestly say that the deputy manager and all the staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel at home and kept good contact with us all.

As a family, we can not thank everyone at Chestnut Court enough.

Overall Experience
In August, 2020, my brother was admitted to Chestnut Court after his Social Worker recommended that this home would be perfect for his needs.
His transition into the home was flawless, swift and professional. He was made to feel comfortable and at ease straight away and great care was made to ensure his needs and likes were met.
The Covid guidelines have always been strictly adhered to at the home and I have always felt my brother was very safe and looked after at all times.
My brother has been at the home for 10 months now and he is always very happy and upbeat despite the Covid restrictions as he is kept busy and stimulated. I am in no doubt that my brother is much happier in Chestnut Court
I have to say a huge thank you to all the staff for their dedication and care for my brother. I feel all the staff truly go over and above to ensure the best home environment and continuity always.

I would have no problem speaking to anyone if a verbal reference is required.

My mother, who has dementia, moved into Chestnut Court in August 2020. We were well supported by the management in preparation for the move and at the time of the move.
All members of staff maintain a very positive and caring attitude, and it is a great comfort to me to see my mother so at ease with them, especially given all the difficulties arising from the pandemic over these months.
My mother eats well, so I think the food must be good.
There is a lovely secure patio and garden area which I am sure my mother will enjoy in the better weather.

Chestnut Court fulfils all the things that are most important to us.

The care my wife gets in this place is second to none. The staff are all kind and caring and show love to all residents, the place is home and feels like home to everyone, residents and visitors. My wife has been with you for two a half years and has had the best of care. The staff also care about me. The contact I get is also very good by phone or email. During this awful year, the staff have been doing everything to make life bearable. The manager of this place is not only good, but is brilliant for all concerned, residents and their visitors, staff, and the organization. Would I recommend this place, of course, I would.

My mum has been a resident of Chestnut Court for two years. The manager and her team have always been excellent in every way with my mums care. During these unprecedented times when I have not been able to see Mum, they have kept me up to date with any issues of her health and well being. The home is an old house and thus homely, unfortunately being an old house it needs constant maintenance which I know they have struggled with getting a permanent maintenance person, but now assured this has been resolved. Would not hesitate to recommend this care home in the future.

I have found that the quality of care by all carers is really very good. The management and under management could also not be more caring, friendly and helpful.
The décor is good e.g rooms, chairs, curtains, cushions.

Hospitality is also good e.g offering visitors tea, coffee etc.
