My mother has been in long term care in St Anne's and is now nearing the end of her life. Throughout this time, the staff have been invaluable to her care. Their professionalism and dedication to making her as comfortable as possible are second to none. They have shown such compassion and always find
time to make her smile. Nothing is too much trouble. They're always on hand to answer all my queries and allay any fears that arise. I honestly don't know how I'd manage without them, particularly now during these difficult times. They truly are all angels!

My answers to the boxes tell you almost everything.
However, it was a unique experience and that will stay in my memory forever.
The patience, kindness and concern were beyond anything I have previously experienced.
A wonderful nursing home staffed by wonderful, dedicated people.
I miss them now
and will continue to do so.

My mum has received kind, considerate and professional care from all staff during her recuperation stay.
They all display a high level of training and compassion in their treatment of the residents and their visiting families.
The medical response to any issues that crop up is dealt with promptly
and explained to my Mum in a straightforward way.
Thank you to everyone involved at St Anne's for the wonderful, caring and friendly way you have looked after my mum.

A year ago, just as the Covid19 lockdown restrictions struck, my 'brother in law' was the victim of assault and transferred to St Anne's Care Home after hospitalisation. His lonely partner of 50-years was able to talk on the phone every day with him. The staff at St Anne's have been exemplary in facilitating
this connection. We too in Ireland, unable to visit them, were treated with the same courtesy by St Anne's Staff, and able to converse with him. In the past few months, she deteriorated from feelings of increased isolation; her one constant was the phone call to him, where his physical and emotional needs have been dealt with such great kindness and expertise. In February 2021, she was involved in a catastrophic house fire; she was airlifted to a specialist hospital but died four days later. When we broke the news to our dear brother-in-law, the nurses were there. Finally, he was able to watch her funeral on the big screen in St Anne's...

I went to visit my brother, and he looked so happy when I saw him and so well. The staff are amazing and do such a tremendous job. I met two wonderful ladies who I want to say a big thank you for the way you look after my brother so well. I know I won’t have to worry about him at all, thanks to all
at St Anne’s.

The staff are phenomenal! We are very happy that our father has a place there. In these Covid times, they have done all they can to make sure we have contact with our father, and to keep us updated with regards to any changes in his health conditions. He doesn't engage in the activities offered, but
the staff take time to sit with him (if he feels to engage!), make sure he is okay, and address his needs. They know his personality and his moods so can tell us when he has good or bad days. I am very reassured that he is well looked after, and I tell everyone who asks after him that he is in a lovely and caring nursing home!
Thank you to all the staff at St Anne's Nursing Home.

My mother recently passed in St Anne’s, she was cared for by the lead care coordinator (worth her weight in gold) and her marvellous caring team. She has led her team through some of the darkest months imaginable during this pandemic, keeping all the residents safe and well cared for. Communicating
with families via telephone and FaceTime to keep families updated about the care of their loved ones. They looked after the residents as if they were their own family, under the guidance of her. When my mother passed, she, together with my mum's main carer and nursing staff on the second floor were amazing, along with the whole team.
I will be forever grateful to the lead care coordinator and her team of amazing staff, putting the residents before themselves and their families, with love, kindness and compassion.

I felt that I should make a review after not being able to visit the care home since the covid-19 outbreak.
At all times I have been updated and informed of my aunt's health and well-being, I regularly take parcels to her each week, and I am greeted with great enthusiasm and kindness from the staff,
especially one lady who always goes out of her way to keep me informed of my aunt's condition. She gives me regular updates by telephone as my aunt can't hear me on her mobile, and takes the time to find out her needs and pass them on to me.
Once again, thank you to all the staff at St Anne's, I can sleep well at night knowing that my aunt is in such great hands.

Leaving my mum in a care home was obviously a difficult decision for me and brothers, the biggest issues being the quality of care and the issue surrounding trust. After initially visiting St Anne's our concerns were soon alleviated, myself and my family visit my mum often so we are able to have first-hand
experience of the care shown not only towards my mum but all of the patients at St Anne's.
In particular, myself and my family would like to say a huge thank you in particular to the lead care coordinator but all staff in general for keeping us regularly updated on my mum's health and wellbeing and for taking such good care of mum. We would highly recommend St Anne's to any family that find themselves in the same position as us and hope this review can help people when making a very difficult decision.

My experience with lead care worker responsible for my dad's care was not great at all. However, another care worker was awesome, friendly, helpful and extremely understanding. He restored my faith with regards to St Anne's Nursing Home and staff. He apologised for their behaviour, passed on my details
to the relevant person following my Dads death, allowing me to deal with my Dads funeral arrangements. He also contacted the home manager, who was also very understanding, friendly, helpful and apologetic for their behaviour when she contacted me to discuss my experience. After speaking to the home manager and the newer carer worker, I know that St Anne's has a very good team in charge who are dedicated to offering the best possible care for our loved ones, especially in this awful time with the ongoing pandemic. I would recommend this nursing home, and I would like to thank the home manager and the newer carer for the wonderful service they offer. They are definitely a credit to the nursing home. Thank you.

The staff have been very helpful during these difficult times. I have been unable to visit but have seen my Uncle on a FaceTime call and can see he is well nourished and clean-shaven. Vaccinations for Covid 19 appear to be underway so I am hoping to visit in the spring.

All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, not just to my partner but also to me - their good humour really does make life easier.

During the pandemic, I have not been able to visit as often as I normally would so it is an enormous relief to know that my partner is being well cared for in

my absence (though I do phone her every day).

Whilst it is difficult to review the premises etc. I can state that the home is pro-active in keeping the family up to date in relation to my mother's health and mental health. When speaking with my mother and other family members everyone is more than satisfied with the attention, care and food etc
she has received over the shut-down period. It is important to us all that she is safe, cared for and secure.

Our aunt moved to St Anne’s from hospital at the end of February this year. The nurse and carers were very kind and caring as my aunt found it difficult to settle at first due to her dementia. Our aunt became fond of the carers quite quickly, which was a good sign as she would always let us know if
she didn’t like someone and this was not the case at St Anne’s, she always greeted them with a smile and held their hands. All the carers made a point of speaking to our aunt and taking time to make sure she was happy and comfortable. We visited often initially and the staff were always friendly and welcoming to us. Unfortunately, our visits have been cut short by COVID and we haven’t seen our aunt since the middle of March. We have been able to have some video calls which were lovely. We are so grateful for the care and support provided by St Anne’s over this difficult time, knowing that our aunt is safe and well looked after. Thank you.

This home has managed very well during the pandemic. I am very happy that my mother is in such a wonderful home. I brought in shopping to my mother. I social distanced when talking to the home. The home and the team did a wonderful job. They observed that I was psychologically missing my mother and
actually supported me, with full PPE, to see my mother who is bed-bound. I was so grateful and happy and Mum looked very well!

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.362)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.362) out of 10 for St Anne's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.947 for St Anne's is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.947
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.415 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Anne's is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.615
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
