Overall Experience

All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, not just to my partner but also to me - their good humour really does make life easier.

During the pandemic, I have not been able to visit as often as I normally would so it is an enormous relief to know that my partner is being well cared for in my absence (though I do phone her every day).

On the day I visited my relative I was treated by the staff with the greatness of friendliness and courtesy. I selected my options in accordance with what I witnessed on that day and from speaking to my relative and witnessing his contented state of mind.

Whilst it is difficult to review the premises etc. I can state that the home is pro-active in keeping the family up to date in relation to my mother's health and mental health. When speaking with my mother and other family members everyone is more than satisfied with the attention, care and food etc she has received over the shut-down period. It is important to us all that she is safe, cared for and secure.

Our aunt moved to St Anne’s from hospital at the end of February this year. The nurse and carers were very kind and caring as my aunt found it difficult to settle at first due to her dementia. Our aunt became fond of the carers quite quickly, which was a good sign as she would always let us know if she didn’t like someone and this was not the case at St Anne’s, she always greeted them with a smile and held their hands. All the carers made a point of speaking to our aunt and taking time to make sure she was happy and comfortable. We visited often initially and the staff were always friendly and welcoming to us. Unfortunately, our visits have been cut short by COVID and we haven’t seen our aunt since the middle of March. We have been able to have some video calls which were lovely. We are so grateful for the care and support provided by St Anne’s over this difficult time, knowing that our aunt is safe and well looked after. Thank you.

This home has managed very well during the pandemic. I am very happy that my mother is in such a wonderful home. I brought in shopping to my mother. I social distanced when talking to the home. The home and the team did a wonderful job. They observed that I was psychologically missing my mother and actually supported me, with full PPE, to see my mother who is bed-bound. I was so grateful and happy and Mum looked very well!

My friend has been in St Anne’s since Monday 2nd March, she has been made to feel welcome and very comfortable.
The staff are all very attentive and so far I’m very impressed, she is now doing exercises to help get her back on her feet and feeling confident.

I’m really happy my friend is here at St Anne’s.

My aunt really likes this nursing home because the carers and nurses are very helpful. They are very good at understanding her needs even though she can't speak clearly. They have very good management and staff.

The staff have always shown high standards of professionalism and compassionate care. Problems have been dealt with in a timely and sensitive fashion. I have always been kept fully informed of developments in my mother's condition and notified promptly if there has been any need for action. Given the often difficult circumstances in which all of St Anne's staff carry out their tasks, I am amazed by their resilience and empathy. The peace of mind generated by each visit is priceless.

My friend, a lovely and sometimes difficult man, is supported by responsible and caring staff. He, possibly, feels that his dignity as a human being is more respected in St Anne's than at any previous period of his life. On his behalf, I thank the staff. It is a matter of regret that staff pay does not reflect the importance of their work.
