I'm always happy when visiting my Dad at Old Wall Cottage. The staff are extremely friendly and polite, always offering me a cup of tea! Dad is always looking well groomed and looked after. I've seen a real change in his mood since being at Old Wall Cottage, he's much happier in himself knowing that
he is well looked after by all the staff. It really helps that they have permanent staff members so Dad can get to know them and build that trust with them. The home always looks clean and tidy, and they do great family events which is lovely to be involved in. Dad is eating well and has put on some much needed weight since being there. All in all, the home is great and makes these sometimes difficult stages of life, much easier for my Dad but also myself and the family. Their help and support is always greatly appreciated.

The staff could not be kinder. They do everything they possibly can to ensure both dad and family are supported and reassured. We are always greeted with a smile and a hug.
Nothing is too much trouble. We will be forever grateful to have found Old Wall Cottage.

My wife has been at Old Wall Cottage now for 4 months, her care has been excellent.
The manager and the Care staff know her by name, as they do all of our family.
Her needs are met and she is very carefully monitored at all time.
Activities are organised and the Home is very clean, tidy and efficiently
run, and it's always good to see the same Carers employed without the need for casual staff.
Food and personal care is very good, we are delighted with all aspects at the Nursing Home

The staff are very friendly and welcoming to residents' visitors. Residents are always called by their first names and never 'luv, 'dear', etc. Every effort is made to interest residents in activities. The whole home is clean and warm. Staff are very patient with residents who can be stubborn and difficult.

My dad has always been cared for in a gentle and loving way. He is kept clean and comfortable at all times. The meals and activities are good and the staff involved him as much as possible. We are very happy with his care.

My brother was a resident at Old Wall Cottage Nursing Home, for a number of years, until his passing on August 30th. My daughter and I visited him on numerous occasions and always found the staff to be caring and respectful of the people in their care.
I was always kept informed about my brother's
health and well-being, including any little mishaps he might have had. My brother was an ex-stuntman, and could, at times be very single-minded and somewhat difficult to handle, but the staff seemed to have the ability to calm him down, and on most occasions keep him happy.
Our family feel that his stay at Old Wall Cottage, was made as comfortable and happy as possible, under the circumstances, and their care and attention was second to none during his stay there. We loved my brother and obviously wished he was still with us, but we are thankful that during the final years of his life, he was so well cared for and loved by the staff at The Old Wall Cottage.

Mum had been at Old Wall Cottage for over 8 years and in that time all of the staff took such great care of my Mum, they would always keep me informed if Mum wasn't feeling very well and would give me regular updates on her health. I will be forever grateful for the help and support they have given

My mother was taken into care after several hospital visits. Her medical prognosis was not good, but nearly three years later with their care and attention she is still with us. They inform us of any problems and deal with them immediately.

The care my father-in-law receives is wonderful. The staff go out of their way to ensure he remains stimulated and safe. There is a weekly programme of events with something to suit everyone.

Dad took a while to settle in when he first arrived. We were kept informed of Dad's condition and made aware of any incidents (such as falls) and the deterioration swiftly. The staff were kind and respectful when he passed away.

This was the second home my mother was in, and without a doubt, the best of the two.
Whilst it did not have the facilities, the first home had a coffee bar, hairdresser etc,
it was care and cleanliness, which is the most important thing. My cousin said when he visited, it was the first home he had
been in that did not smell of urine or disinfectant.
There was always plenty of staff around when I visited, my mother was always clean and tidy, and the staff were very kind to my mother, who walked around the home all day and myself.
Would recommend it to anyone.

My mother has been a resident at Old Wall Cottage for about three years, whilst very poorly, the home and care have been excellent, providing 24-hour care to her. She had a lovely room fit for purpose and all the facilities for her needs. The carers were lovely and catered for all her needs with care
and dignity for a 94-year-old with dementia, and towards the end, sadly, bed bound. The home is set in lovely gardens in a stunning countryside area with plenty of parking and is catered for any visits promptly. Unfortunately, my mother became a resident at the start of the Coronavirus, so I could not see her for some time, but they provided all the strict measures required that were needed during these difficult times. They provide many activities for the residents, albeit my mother was perhaps not able to participate. Food appeared adequate. I can thoroughly recommend the home and the staff to anyone facing this decision.

Mum was placed in Old Wall Cottage Nursing Home almost a year ago, after being hospitalised and a couple of months of unsuccessful therapy aimed at getting her back on her feet and has improved greatly in that time.
She arrived underweight, in a confused state, and newly confined to a wheelchair.
She
is now back to her old self due to the treatment she receives.
From my initial meeting with the manager and ongoing contact with all staff, I have been impressed with their friendliness, interest and dedication to the residents.
Many residents have dementia, and Mum does not, but all are treated with the same kindness, respect and good nature.
We didn't choose Old Wall Cottage but feel fortunate that Mum landed in the care of such a terrific bunch.

Management and staff treat my friend with the utmost care and respect.
On my weekly visit yesterday there was an entertainer in one of the lounges. I was allowed to sit with my friend instead of the usual visit in her room.
It was such an enjoyable hour. The entertainer had a good rapport with the
residents and involved them in his choice of song. Many of the residents joined in the singing or were just tapping along to the music. This was encouraged by the staff who were also singing and dancing along.
This was such good therapy for everyone concerned.

Old Wall is an exceptional care home. The staff are warm, extremely friendly and highly diplomatic in all the difficult situations they face. My father entered the home following a severe stroke and we could not be happier with the kindness and consideration they gave him. Despite his immobility, they
found a special chair so he could be taken outside during the summer. They showed incredible love and attention as his situation became more complex including advice and help with all the administration and assessment of grants. They equally accommodated visits at any time as our situation became more serious and nothing seemed to phase them. From making sure they played him music he liked to always having had a good conversation with him. In the last weeks we were clearly advised with chats with the nurses and managers and when the end came one of their superb carers had sat with my dad throughout the night. It is outstanding.

From the moment my brother-in-law moved into the nursing home, the welcome and care he has received has made the transition of leaving his home seem seamless.
