My mother has been a resident at the old wall nursing home for a few months, we visit her daily and have observed that all of the staff, nurses and carers provide genuine excellent support and care.My mother settled in the home quickly and is grateful for the level of care she receives.
Thank you for your generous feedback. We're delighted you feel Old Wall Cottage has been the right place for your mum, and your appreciation of the care and service provided means a great deal to the whole team.
My dad moved into Old Wall Cottage on 13th April 2026. As a family we had some anxiety about dad going into a nursing home, but the staff at Old Wall Cottage have been kind, professional and supportive during this difficult time. The home visit before admission wa very thorough and we were impressed with how the staff member was able to both make us feel reassured, and my dad feel listened to. We continue to be impressed with the kindness and respect my dad is treated with.
My Mum resided at Old Wall Cottage Nursing Home for 6 months. The staff who looked after Mum were outstanding. She was treated with the greatest of care. We were always made very welcome and we were kept upto date with everything going on with Mum. An exceptional care home with fabulous staff.
We are also very grateful to your daughter for the wonderful fundraising she did in your mum's memory; her kindness and support for Old Wall Cottage Nursing Home is deeply appreciated.
My friend has improved significantly since being in the home - she is so much better and happier than when she was at home. I just wish she had become a resident much earlier. The carers make sure she drinks enough and eats which was a real problem before she was admitted.
I have not observed anything but empathetic care for the residents.
Thank you for your kind words. It's wonderful to hear such positive feedback from a friend of one of our residents. We're so pleased you found our team welcoming, and we're grateful you took the time to share your experience with us.
The 24 hr care is amazing. I can't thank them enough for what they do. Very many thanks

Communication between us and the manager has been very helpful, we have felt listened to and appreciate the efforts made to get to know mum.
We are so pleased that mum has been able to participate in small tasks that have made her feel useful. She has enjoyed activities too like flower arranging.
Although mum has only been a resident for a few weeks we can see that she is slowly settling in.

All the staff are friendly and approachable and have the the residents best interests at heart.
Although my mother is not in a position to take part in the activities there appears a full program to engage with the residents.
There is great communications with residents family's and meetings where you can raise issues.
The home is not a corporate glitzy establishment but has lovely gardens but really that is not important it's the care that is given and this care home delivers on this front.

I'm always happy when visiting my Dad at Old Wall Cottage. The staff are extremely friendly and polite, always offering me a cup of tea! Dad is always looking well groomed and looked after. I've seen a real change in his mood since being at Old Wall Cottage, he's much happier in himself knowing that he is well looked after by all the staff. It really helps that they have permanent staff members so Dad can get to know them and build that trust with them. The home always looks clean and tidy, and they do great family events which is lovely to be involved in. Dad is eating well and has put on some much needed weight since being there. All in all, the home is great and makes these sometimes difficult stages of life, much easier for my Dad but also myself and the family. Their help and support is always greatly appreciated.

The manager and the Care staff know her by name, as they do all of our family.
Her needs are met and she is very carefully monitored at all time.
Activities are organised and the Home is very clean, tidy and efficiently run, and it's always good to see the same Carers employed without the need for casual staff.
Food and personal care is very good, we are delighted with all aspects at the Nursing Home
Thank you so much for your generous review, we are very proud of how the team and our environment allow our residents to flourish.
My mum is very lucky to live in such a caring, safe and supportive nursing home. All her needs are met by the wonderful caring and knowledgeable staff. It is a joy to visit her most days and see how well she's treated.

My dad has always been cared for in a gentle and loving way. He is kept clean and comfortable at all times. The meals and activities are good and the staff involved him as much as possible. We are very happy with his care.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Our team is very happy to hear that you were pleased with the care provided to your dad. We will continue to strive to give the best care to all of our residents.
I was always kept informed about my brother's health and well-being, including any little mishaps he might have had. My brother was an ex-stuntman, and could, at times be very single-minded and somewhat difficult to handle, but the staff seemed to have the ability to calm him down, and on most occasions keep him happy.
Our family feel that his stay at Old Wall Cottage, was made as comfortable and happy as possible, under the circumstances, and their care and attention was second to none during his stay there. We loved my brother and obviously wished he was still with us, but we are thankful that during the final years of his life, he was so well cared for and loved by the staff at The Old Wall Cottage.
Thank you for your review. It was an amazing pleasure to meet your brother and care for him during his time with us at Old Wall Cottage. We know how much you loved your brother and it was lovely to see the smile on his face when you visited. We were lucky to meet you and your daughter and thank you for your support.
Mum had been at Old Wall Cottage for over 8 years and in that time all of the staff took such great care of my Mum, they would always keep me informed if Mum wasn't feeling very well and would give me regular updates on her health. I will be forever grateful for the help and support they have given our family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. It was a pleasure to care for your Mum so it is wonderful to hear that you were happy with the care that we provided.
Thank you so much for your help and support.
Thank you for your review. It is always a pleasure to care for your Mum and keep the family updated.
