Seymour Court

I have just come back from Ireland to visit my dear sister, very impressed with the care my sister is getting.

My mother was admitted to Seymour Court in April of this year for end of life care due to advanced cancer (tumour). The management, care shown to mum was first class, no complaints at all. The staff were very supportive to all the family at the end.

My wife has been a resident at Seymour Court for more than 3 years after suffering a brain haemorrhage followed by a further stroke. She is incapacitated having lost the power of speech, having restricted sight and with no use of her limbs on one side of her body. I cannot praise too highly the standard of care my wife has received which has also been extended to myself as a daily visitor and made a world of difference in our situation.

My Mum was in case of these wonderful nurses for nearly six months on end of life. My Mum could be a stubborn lady but cheeky with it and each and every one of these nurses made her last six months as happy, comfortable and settled. Mum couldn't have asked for any more. Nothing was too much trouble. These nurses go above and beyond the call of duty. They made Mum and all of us feel at home. They are fantastic.

I have been so pleased with the care that my grandmother received at Seymour Court. All staff are caring and put her needs first, always with a smile and a chat. They encouraged her to join in activities and gave her space when she needed rest. As she has approached end-of-life care now, their gentle way of looking after her has been evident. Management are friendly and approachable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Seymour Court.

This is a very well run care home by staff and management. I see my wife daily and she has the best care possible, the room is always clean and tidy. Food and drinks are prepared on-site and are excellent.

I have complete peace of mind knowing she is being looked after so well.

My mum has been in Seymour Court since February 2019 as with everybody I was concerned about her welfare but was soon put at ease, I cannot praise the management and staff enough, for example, my 90 year mum has not been well on several occasions, the staff were quickly on to it, doctor called and antibiotics prescribed and administered which quickly cleared it up. Food A1, caring A1 and professional at all times.

I have great respect for everyone who is working at Seymour court. The care they gave my mother was excellent. The team spirit there is great, nothing was ever too much trouble, always on hand when needed. One of the many things that stand out is how passionate and hard working the care workers are (always smiling). The Nurses were also hard working kind and caring and would always update me on what was happening. I wish to thank you all for the support and kindness you gave our family.

Seymour Court is a small and very friendly nursing home. After a welcome freshen-up by the new owners last year it looks smart and modern throughout. It is professionally run. The staff are amazing and teamwork is in evidence. Visitors are routinely welcomed with a hot drink and it feels like home from home.

After some initial trepidation Mum has really settled here and three years down the line we wouldn't wish her to be anywhere else. In fact, I'd say she's really benefited from the excellent care she receives.

Outside facilities are a bit restricted due to a slope to a garden and a small patio space, but there are plenty of monthly entertainments laid on such as visiting performers and a hairdresser, and occasional trips out, to compensate.

All in all Seymour Court is brilliant. Thanks to its wonderful staff Mum is comfortable and contented and this is invaluable peace-of-mind to her family and friends.

I could not be more grateful and appreciative of the exceptional care that my grandma receives at Seymour Court. The staff are all genuinely lovely, friendly and willing to take their time to have a chat with my family on our visits. The setting itself is always clean and well presented providing a very homely atmosphere. I would be more than happily recommend to anyone.

I strongly believe that my mum could not receive any better care than she does at Seymour Court which is always a great comfort to me and our family.

I couldn't wish nor want for my loved one to be in any other place. Whether short or long term care is required, it's simply amazing!

My father has been in Seymour Court for one year. It is the second care home he has stayed in and as our first experience was terrible, we were concerned what this second care home was going to be like. Well we needn't have worried. This care home is absolutely wonderful. In fact it is hard to convey and put in to words just how good it is. It is not one particular thing it is everything. As I work full time I find it sometimes difficult to visit my father as much as I would like to, but I don't worry too much as I know he has such a fantastic, amazing, incredibly kind, thoughtful and caring team of people looking after him. I would encourage anyone who may have a relative looking for a care home place to get them in to Seymour Court. I have completely 100% done the right thing for him. Other care homes could learn an awful lot by taking a look at Seymour Courts way of doing things. EXCELLENT completely undersells this care home, its so so much more than that.

Mum has been very happy since she arrived here 4 Years ago. She can be a tough taskmaster and high maintenance at times, but the Home has always delivered and looked after her superbly. When the Home went into Administration 3 years ago the Manager and her Team did a magnificent job to keep the Home running until it was purchased at the end of 2017.

Since Mannamead Care took over ownership there have been many improvements such as the Decor, Care etc. Their friendly, personable, hands-on, caring, family-orientated, efficient, patient-centred Management Style have improved/enhanced the Home still further.

The Manager and her Team continue to do a First Class Job. All the staff - the Carers, Nursing, Catering, Cleaning and Maintenance are outstanding. In my view the recent CQC report was unfair. The Home is excellent. Thank you so much for Caring.

My mother moved to Seymour Court in August 2017 and although it was looking very tired and in need of refurbishment, but now thoroughly redecorated and upgraded, I instantly knew my mother would receive the care she needed and that has been the case. The staff from the manager (the most hands-on manager I have encountered), nurses, care-assistants, kitchen staff, treat my mother with the love and care that I wish I could have given to her in her own home. My mother is visited almost daily by her family and her care is always of the same high standard.

My mum stayed there for 10 weeks before she sadly died and I cannot fault the care and compassion everybody who worked there has. They treated my mum with dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for mum and us when we visited, it’s like a little family there, very homely with a fabulous atmosphere. The night mum was poorly they gave us a family room to use if we wanted and they kept coming down to check all was ok and bringing endless cups of tea and food and was happy to explain everything, we cannot thank them enough for what they did for mum and for us. I cannot fault the care the staff gave to my mum, during the week she was there, sadly it was a short time for end of life care, nothing was too much trouble. All her children were able to stay with her, which we did, and they also looked after us. If anyone is looking for care for a loved one then this is the place to go.

All the staff made the situation a lot easier, and let us know everything that was happening and why. It has taken a while to write this review but I felt that it is only deserving to a fantastic team, who also came in on days off to take care of Mum. So if you are looking for somewhere, please put Seymour Court at the top of your list to look at, you will not be disappointed.
