My mother was admitted as a NHS emergency and given lovely bright room with a good view. The staff took their time on admission explaining procedures and together with palliative care staff undertook an assessment regarding funding. Mum settled in well and despite her life ending prognosis made friends
with other residents during her 18 day stay. Her condition deteriorated and all staff were very caring in helping her adjust to the pain she experienced, with several dr visits. Sadly mum passed away on 5/3/26. We were informed very soon after we visited. Throughout her stay she was treated with kindness and dignity.

My dad was discharged from hospital to Thorn Park Care Home and has stayed there since. From day one we were all made to feel so welcome. Dad is well fed and cared for and always smartly dressed and clean. His room is always clean and tidy and his clothes are freshly laundered.
The stand out feature
of this care home is the incredibly hard working activities coordinator who provides daily enrichment activities for the residents. She obviously loves her job and cares deeply for all the residents.
The home is an old building and as such has its problems but these are always dealt with promptly and efficiently. The lounges have recently been refurbished and look clean and inviting and there are well maintained gardens for the residents to use.
It is easy to speak to staff about any thing Dad needs or make changes to his care plan.
We can visit whenever we like and families are invited to events throughout the year.

We cannot thank Seymour Court Nursing Home enough for the exceptional care given to our father. He first came for respite in 2023 and became a permanent resident from January 2025 until he passed away in January 2026. Dad loved the activities, friendly faces and superb food, and we were always warmly
welcomed. Staff treated him with patience, humour and dignity, supporting his independence and adapting as Parkinson's and Lewy Body dementia progressed. The nurses kept us informed and reassured throughout. Every member of the team ensured Dad was always clean, comfortable and well cared for. We are especially grateful to Scarlett, Amy, Cherry, Cheryl, Pasand, Jean, Brenda, Kath, Mariah and Jessie on nights. Seymour Court gave our father comfort, dignity and genuine kindness, for which we will always be thankful.

My father in law was a resident until his untimely passing. He was treated with the utmost care and respect but more importantly as a family member at Seymour Court.
The care in which he received was always exemplary.
At the time of his passing we as a family spent more time with him often staying
with him overnight and again we were treated like one of the Seymour Court families.
For Ayesh and I our time spent with the residence during the family evenings with food and cheer will always remain fondly in our memories and will treasure.
Marie Claire always made us feel incredibly welcome despite being on her own journey.
The nursing team always kept us up to date through every step in David's journey and no matter how busy they may have been we always felt listened to and that we were given their time.
The HCAs are very much the solid foundation of a well functioning team.
All in all we could not have asked for anything more from Seymour court during David's 18 month stay.

I could not fault the care and kindness shown by all staff, not only for my sister, but to myself and brother when visiting. Friendly, but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble in all aspects of the sad situation that we found our family in. Thank you to each and everyone at Seymour Court.

My mum arrived at Greenacres in September from hospital. It was a difficult and emotional decision for Mum and all the family to finally reach the decision to go into a care home. However, she has now settled in and feels safe at Greenacres and we can all now see that this was the right decision to
ensure the best possible care for Mum. She requires 24 hour care which the wonderful staff provide for her.
As her son it is very reassuring to know that Mum is safe and well and that her health and well-being needs are being taken care of by professionals.
I would just like to thank the amazing management team and all the dedicated care staff and support team for looking after my wonderful Mum.

The carers are amazing. They do these things so easy and dealing with the residents in a very tactful manner especially if they are difficult. Nothing is too much for them. Every time I visit I feel welcome there. My friend lives at Willett Lodge, she can be difficult but they manage to look after her
well. Very good team and manager is always there to listen if there is a concern.
Reply from Willett Lodge, Team at Willett Lodge Nursing HomeThank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you feel welcomed and that your friend is well cared for. Our team takes pride in providing compassionate, patient care, and your feedback means a lot to all of us.

Seymour Court is absolutely fantastic. The staff and carers are amazing, very caring, friendly and can't do enough for the residents. It's spotlessly clean everywhere, and the meals they do there for the residents are beautiful and cooked fresh on the premises. I would recommend this home, it's top

As Power of Attorney I had to make the difficult decision with Social Services to find a suitable Care Home for my friend. After an unsuccessful placement at another home Charlton House was suggested. We were impressed from the first visit and have found out initial favourable impressions confirmed
over the last 4 months. The overall quality of the accommodation is good, with reasonable sized rooms and good sized common areas.
The standout is the staff, at all levels, their thoughtful care for the residents is excellent. The good and caring atmosphere they create is also excellent. They make it easy to discuss the needs and best care for my friend. I cannot speak to highly of the staff team.
I must mention the activities that are organised on a very regular basis. They are so well done, are fun and stimulating. And demanding though that is, they also look to support the needs of individuals, including individual trips out of the home when they can.
Reply from Sarah Latham, Registered Manager at Charlton HouseThank you so much for your lovely review of Charlton House. We truly appreciate your kind words and the time you took to share your experience. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we're delighted to hear your positive comments about all departments. I will make sure your feedback is shared with the whole team - they'll be so pleased to know their hard work has been recognised. Thank you once again for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.

Mum has Parkinson's dementia. Mum needed respite care when my dad had a stroke. (This care started in May 25 - October 25 2025) Mum has been very confused and emotional often being very frightened by her night terrors. Mum believes her night terrors are actually real and needs a lot of support and reassurance
that she is safe. Mum and dad have been married for 71 years and to be separated from each other also took its toll on both of them. Throughout all of this the staff have been kind, caring and supportive with mum, we couldn't have asked for more

Apart from having to wait at some times to be seen when I call, due to shortage of staff, the service I get is excellent.
Due to me being profoundly deaf, some of the staff have started to learn BSL (British Sign Language) for my benefit
Reply from Linda Dodd, Manager at Thorn Park Care HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. Were so glad our teams efforts to learn BSL have made a difference for you. We truly appreciate your patience during busy times and are committed to making our service as welcoming and inclusive as possible.

The permanent staff do an exceptional job of providing kind, compassionate, thoughtful care. Their approach to our mother with bad dementia managed to bring out the best in her, and we saw some of her old spark. This was due to the personalised, individual care and activities they undertook with her;
unfortunately, the accommodation they have to work in is very poor. The rooms are cramped, poorly maintained, and there is limited public space; it is generally cramped. It is cleaned diligently, but cleanliness is difficult with such an old building. There is little privacy for residents and their visitors. The permanent staff are, without exception, excellent, but some of the 'bank' nurses we met at the weekend were less so. They did not seem to understand the concept of end of life care - they sure did not wear gloves to!

Sadly my husband reached a stage of dementia when I had to admit defeat. I simply could not find a home that would take him, given the behaviour his dementia caused. In the end I had to contact Social Services, and this was the only place available. Now, I have to admit that if I had gone to inspect
it, I would not have chosen it. It's an old house converted, and consequently a bit of a maize. Rooms are functional and practical rather than large or elegant, and it doesn't look much. BUT staff and management are fabulous, and could not have been kinder, and had so much patience with him. I was supported too. This is so much more important than any other consideration, and it is for this reason that I have rated the home very highly. There was also a secure courtyard where we sat together in the sun whenever weather permitted. He was, we knew, at the end of his life, and when he passed the staff and management were so kind to me. Lovely calm atmosphere.
Reply from Sarah Latham, Registered Manager at Charlton HouseOn behalf of everyone at Charlton House thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words during such a difficult time.It was truly an honor and privilege to care for husband and we are deeply sorry for your loss. He will be remembered fondly by all of us here.Your appreciation means so much to the team, who work with dedication and compassion every day. Knowing that we were able to provide comfort and care to both you and your husband during his time with us brings us great comfort. Please know that you remain in our thoughts, and you are always welcome here.
