Greenacres Care Centre Ltd

I moved into Greenacres on 6.2.26 for a months respite care because of a broken shoulder. The home has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff were welcoming, kind and professional and I cannot praise them highly enough, and settled into the routine quickly. I would highly recommend the home to others
in their time of need and if I needed care in the future would be more than happy to move in. The garden is stunning and I only wish I had been there in the summer to enjoy and aid recovery. Thanks to everyone for their help and support.

My mothers stay and care was extremely good. The staff (all) treated my mum in such a gentle and sympathetic manner. All of our family were made welcome, kept well informed. In my mum's final days we were checked on regularly, offered tea and biscuits. I would gladly recommend this care home.
Reply from Marie Claire Foale, Manager at Seymour CourtThank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write this review. Our staff greatly appreciate this feedback and we are pleased that we could support you all at this difficult time.

I cannot praise the staff enough. My mum has been a resident since September 2024. The staff have shown my mum nothing but love, care, compassion and dignity. Marie the manager is an absolute gem, the care team along with the nursing staff always engage with mum, they treat her gently and engage in
talking to her and laughing and singing with her. Mums health has deteriorated and she is now bed bound and her dementia is getting worse but the care is exceptional, they all go above and beyond. We as a family are treated like their family, always kept well informed about mums health and doctors visits.
The food is always varied and nothing is too much especially if mum wanted something different then they would go and get whatever she asked for. They have mum pain free and that is our priority at this time.
I can only describe all the staff as angels, they are truly dedicated to the residents and their needs.
I cannot thank them enough. AMAZING.
Reply from Marie Claire Foale, Manager at Seymour CourtThank you for your kind words - the staff will be thrilled. It has been a privilege to share in mum's journey and with you as a family. I wish to thank you especially for your decency and fabulous treatment of our team. It has been an absolute pleasure to look after mum.

My grandmother is a resident of Seymour court and has been since September 2024, we can not thank the staff enough for their patience, help, support and understanding of my gran. Her health has declined since her arrival, they always lead with kindness and such tender care, the staff have the kindest
heart and always show us and my gran so much grace. We as a family can't thank them enough for all they do everyday, they truly are an amazing team.

After visiting many care homes in Plymouth, Thorn Park was our 14th and instantly the look and atmosphere said 'yes this is the one for mum'. After nine years at the care home mum passed peacefully at the grand age of 96. It felt like a family for mum and myself as I visited her.

Mum booked into respite care as emergency in February as this was the only option. The Home have taken excellent care of her over the last 2 months, so that she is strong enough to get home again. They have made sure her medicines were up to date and that all visitors were welcomed. On her leaving some
staff of the home came to wish her the best. At all times, the Home have kept me up to date on her progress and health. I can not fault the care provided by the staff.

Overcrowded- sharing a room with a curtain to divide residents. No ventilation. One shared sink. Bed not suitable, cannot stretch his legs (being checked for foot sores). Boxes of supplies stored in the room. No room for the residents wheelchair in the room with visitors. Staff coming to give my brother
in law medication while he's eating his lunch? Staff not patient with residents. On staff member seen on his mobile while feeding a resident. Lack of care, compassion and tolerance.

My mother was admitted as a NHS emergency and given lovely bright room with a good view. The staff took their time on admission explaining procedures and together with palliative care staff undertook an assessment regarding funding. Mum settled in well and despite her life ending prognosis made friends
with other residents during her 18 day stay. Her condition deteriorated and all staff were very caring in helping her adjust to the pain she experienced, with several dr visits. Sadly mum passed away on 5/3/26. We were informed very soon after we visited. Throughout her stay she was treated with kindness and dignity.

My dad was discharged from hospital to Thorn Park Care Home and has stayed there since. From day one we were all made to feel so welcome. Dad is well fed and cared for and always smartly dressed and clean. His room is always clean and tidy and his clothes are freshly laundered.
The stand out feature
of this care home is the incredibly hard working activities coordinator who provides daily enrichment activities for the residents. She obviously loves her job and cares deeply for all the residents.
The home is an old building and as such has its problems but these are always dealt with promptly and efficiently. The lounges have recently been refurbished and look clean and inviting and there are well maintained gardens for the residents to use.
It is easy to speak to staff about any thing Dad needs or make changes to his care plan.
We can visit whenever we like and families are invited to events throughout the year.

We cannot thank Seymour Court Nursing Home enough for the exceptional care given to our father. He first came for respite in 2023 and became a permanent resident from January 2025 until he passed away in January 2026. Dad loved the activities, friendly faces and superb food, and we were always warmly
welcomed. Staff treated him with patience, humour and dignity, supporting his independence and adapting as Parkinson's and Lewy Body dementia progressed. The nurses kept us informed and reassured throughout. Every member of the team ensured Dad was always clean, comfortable and well cared for. We are especially grateful to Scarlett, Amy, Cherry, Cheryl, Pasand, Jean, Brenda, Kath, Mariah and Jessie on nights. Seymour Court gave our father comfort, dignity and genuine kindness, for which we will always be thankful.

My father in law was a resident until his untimely passing. He was treated with the utmost care and respect but more importantly as a family member at Seymour Court.
The care in which he received was always exemplary.
At the time of his passing we as a family spent more time with him often staying
with him overnight and again we were treated like one of the Seymour Court families.
For Ayesh and I our time spent with the residence during the family evenings with food and cheer will always remain fondly in our memories and will treasure.
Marie Claire always made us feel incredibly welcome despite being on her own journey.
The nursing team always kept us up to date through every step in David's journey and no matter how busy they may have been we always felt listened to and that we were given their time.
The HCAs are very much the solid foundation of a well functioning team.
All in all we could not have asked for anything more from Seymour court during David's 18 month stay.

My mum arrived at Greenacres in September from hospital. It was a difficult and emotional decision for Mum and all the family to finally reach the decision to go into a care home. However, she has now settled in and feels safe at Greenacres and we can all now see that this was the right decision to
ensure the best possible care for Mum. She requires 24 hour care which the wonderful staff provide for her.
As her son it is very reassuring to know that Mum is safe and well and that her health and well-being needs are being taken care of by professionals.
I would just like to thank the amazing management team and all the dedicated care staff and support team for looking after my wonderful Mum.

Seymour Court is absolutely fantastic. The staff and carers are amazing, very caring, friendly and can't do enough for the residents. It's spotlessly clean everywhere, and the meals they do there for the residents are beautiful and cooked fresh on the premises. I would recommend this home, it's top
