Mum unfortunately has dementia and Dad could no longer provide the care her condition now requires. When my father and I first visited the manager was very reassuring and within a short space of time I knew Mum was in the right place. They have lots of staff who are constantly on the move helping the residents with their needs and I got the impression that they genuinely care. Mum has a carer allocated to her who updated me on Mum’s condition the last time I visited, again I was impressed. Mum is always washed and her clothes are clean (not always the case with care homes). Basically the family know Mum is safe, secure, well fed, and well looked after.
We are deeply touched by your warm review of the care and support provided at Langdale Heights. The scenarios you conveyed beautifully encapsulate our core mission to ensure that all our residents feel safe, loved, and well-cared for in our nurturing environment. It is pleasing to hear that our...

Visited my cousin for the first time since she has been living in Langdale Heights. I was not familiar with the area and found the building difficult to find. Security was very good, the two members of staff were very helpful and friendly. The areas I saw looked clean and well-maintained. Cannot comment about food or activities because I did not see any. My cousin said she had fish and chips for lunch which she enjoyed. She appeared to be well-cared for and was looking much better than the last time I saw her. She did not complain about anything so I took that as a good sign.

Thanks so much for looking after my mum like your own. Not enough words on how to say thanks to you. Management and all staff are doing a great job in caring for my mum who is already settled and feels like her family and friends around her. Especially one member of staff who did not waste any time arranging the halal food and keeping and labelling the cooking utensils separate. That’s so caring and nice of him. All the staff deserve thumbs up for being so kind and patient.

From the day my mum was admitted to Langdale Heights Care Home in June this year she has been cared for so amazingly well that she has improved massively since the four months she was in hospital prior to moving to the home. The staff and management are just incredible, everyone we have met has been friendly, helpful and extremely caring. Nothing is too much trouble and they all go out of their way to do everything they can to help. They are all so welcoming and treat the residents with so much kindness and expert professionalism. My grandmother was moved to Langdale from hospital a number of weeks ago following an extended stay in hospital. As a family, we have been absolutely delighted by what we have found so far. We had an absolutely awful experience over four months in hospital to the point that I was resigned to my grandmother not being properly looked after wherever she went. However, from the very minute my grandmother was received by Langdale we have had excellent communication, care and compassion at every juncture, competence from every level of staff and excellence in so many fields. The food that is provided is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who have gone out of their way in very difficult circumstances due to the needs of my grandmother. There is plainly an ethos of respect and kindness that is evident in every member of staff that we have met. When my grandmother's health declined recently and we expected the worst, the staff worked around the clock and never gave up.
We were thrilled to read your insightful and comprehensive review of our home at Langdale Heights Care Home — the staff, standards of care, communication with family and quality of dining tailored to each resident’s personal needs. We are truly sorry that you had to undergo such trials with your...
We travelled up from Kent to Derby and we did not know how easy it was to find the nursing home. In the event, we arrived four hours early for our appointment. Despite which the staff were very understanding and helpful and fitted us up with covid tests, masks and aprons. We were able to see my brother-in-law early which was excellent as he was rested and lively. We saw him really enjoy his lunch which as he has lost most of his teeth was tailored to be delicious but soft so he could masticate easily. His room was bright and clean. We had a happy visit. Thank you.
