My father in law sadly passed away today in Woodland Court after being a resident for the last 2 years. He received the best care a family could wish for, he was 95 years old and lived with dementia. The condition was at times traumatic for the family but the love and support we received from the all members of staff engulfed us and carried us through those darker days. In his final days we felt loved , supported and most importantly he was cared for with dignity and respect. Woodland court isn't a Care Home, it's a family, a family that loves not only the residents but their families too. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Warmest regards- Mary and the team at Woodland Court
Very friendly staff that are always happy to help and give support when needed could not recommend this place enough for anyone that needs the help or ongoing support super clean and tidy as it gets clean each day the food is always good size portions and nothing is to much to ask for
Dad's only been there a few days , the staff and care amazing , can't fault them , dad was very upset first few days , today he's back to himself, making jokes and banter with staff , the lovely carer does night shift, he loved to see a familiar face , As he knew her from are family s , love of horses .
Well done all. Keep up the high standard in what is a very demanding job.
If you love your relative do not send them here. Whilst the staff try their best, they appear to be under-trained in certain areas and understaffed. My mum was left to sit in her own urine for hours as well as being left unattended in a chair she could not get up from without any way of calling for assistance. We removed her within 24 hours of her being placed at Mr C's.
In Response to the review. I am the new manager at Mr C's. I have re-looked at the complaint that was raised and can see we were fully staffed at the time. Daily notes documented showed the lady was well cared for during her 24-hour stay. All rooms have a call bell system and when residents are sat...
Woodland Court literally has the most caring, wonderful and kind staff one could wish for, and I say that from the bottom of my heart! The entire team are second to none, and I say that through experience, every client's need comes first and foremost, they work so hard to maintain a wonderful warm and caring environment, it is wonderful! Thank you so much for all you do, you are all awesome!
My mum is being cared for in this beautiful care home, by wonderful caring staff. I am so happy that Mum is fortunate to have a home here. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers all seem happy and professional. Having worked in care for a number of years I know how difficult it can be with challenging behaviour at times, they are able to deal with such times with ease. Thank you to everyone at Jubilee House.
All of the staff have been fantastic in the care shown to my mother. In difficult times nothing was too much trouble. We never saw a member of staff without a cheery smile. We observed entertainers who were supportive and kind to other residents. All of her needs were catered for. We know that she is sad to leave but has made terrific progress since she has been in their care.
My wife was moved to Woodland Park when her retirement home could no longer cope, as her health deteriorated and she needed nursing care. I was worried that she may be adversely affected by the change but I had no need to worry, she was welcomed by the staff and felt at home very quickly, with no problems. My wife could be difficult but the staff coped with her, and she always seemed to be happy there. Whenever I went to visit or phoned, the staff always knew how she was and her current mood. All the staff I met cared deeply for their residents and I have no reservations in recommending Woodland Park to anybody that needs nursing care. A lovely setting with wonderful staff.
If you cherish your family, avoid this place like the plague! My mum was sent there for respite in August and was meant to stay for two weeks. She ended up dying in there. It’s disgusting! She got ill in November with a huge lump in her stomach and they didn’t even bother to tell me! They wouldn’t even ring an ambulance to take her to the hospital! The only person who let me know anything was one member of weekend staff that said: “your mum smells of death.” That’s the first time I knew anything was seriously wrong. He sent me a horrendous video of her so I could see her in the state she was in. She suffered and was completely stripped of her dignity up until she died. It took me ages to get in there to say goodbye to her because they kept fobbing me off. When I and my daughter got in there, she was in agony. She was groaning and moaning and couldn’t even swallow her own spit. In the end, I had to call her GP to try and help her. Her ring also went missing and was never recovered.
All the staff are approachable so if there are any queries they are happy to talk and discuss them with you, nothing was too much trouble. The day my mum left Mr C's and said her goodbyes there were tears from staff and that shows how caring they are. I was so choked up I had to say thank you and goodbye quickly to them but I still want to say a huge thank you to you all at Mr C's for everything you did for Mum and replenished her spirit that enabled her to return home.
My great grandmother was in this care home for just under a week and was treated very badly, the first night she was in there the buzzer for assistance wasn’t working and she was made to get out of bed by herself when she wasn’t strong enough to even walk. The food in there was absolutely vile and was rock solid. The state of the rooms was disgusting and needed a good clean. After a couple of nights of being there, she had a fall and no one was informed that she had fallen and they said they needed permission for them to call her when my grandmother already said to keep her updated and she was left on the floor until the paramedics arrived. When the cleaner finally arrived they tried cleaning her room while she was eating her lunch. I do not recommend to anyone.
My dear mother was a resident until she finally passed away of cancer. All the staff were so attentive and kind and Mr C's is so smart a fresh my mother thought she was staying in a hotel. I can't thank you all enough for your kindness and care.
Thank you for the care and devotion you showed towards my dad who passed away Monday 1st October 2018.
I have visited a lot of care homes in the Torbay area when my mum was poorly. They were mostly very nicely furnished and had nice surroundings. But none of them shared the care and devotion that the staff at Mr C’s showed towards my dad especially the manager and her deputy.Thank-you to all the staff that cared for my dad in his last few weeks.
The home is friendly. staff approachable and considerate, very good with residents and their visitors. On checking the last review, satisfactory had been clicked when the room was excellent spacious and well decorated. Would totally recommend the home.
The staff were extremely caring and thoughtful. The staff were very hard working, there was nothing that was too much trouble whilst they were caring for my dad in his final days. They are very special people and a brilliant team who went above their regular duties and treated my Dad with care and dignity. Thank you to all of you at Woodland Park I can not recommend this place highly enough.
I'm sorry it took so long to write this but I have tears in my eyes writing this. I miss him.
The staff at Woodlands Park Nursing Home acted above and beyond the call of duty in the care of my mum; and as a daily visitor, my dad. They are special people whose devotion to their patients extends far beyond their regular duties. I have to single out two carers who feel like part of our family after 3.5 years.
What a wonderful place. My thanks to the Manager and all the staff for looking after my dear friend in his final days. They treated him with care, love and dignity. I will not forget this. Recommend to anyone.
My dad was in respite for two weeks. We went to see him on the Sunday, not known to staff we were coming, it was lovely to see my dad clean, shaven and in his own clothes. This put my mum at ease as other care homes we have found him with dinner down him and not even wearing his own clothes. I must say a big thank you to all the staff as they were very helpful and reassuring and we even got all his own clothes returned to us. Once again I cannot praise them enough and would recommend Garden House to anyone, a big thank you from all my family.
