Home is in a good location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Any accidents by residents are quickly resolved. Any concerns are addressed and dealt with. Working in these environments is often challenging but staff are up to the task. Well done !

The staff members are very caring ensuring that all residents are monitored and attended to as necessary. My sister has been resident for over 2 years and is very happy at Marine Park View, which is great for our family, especially as she did not want to leave her apartment. She is happy about the
meals, the way she is treat, the attention she gets, including her medical needs, as are we. Whenever she has an occasional fall or mishap, we are advised about it as soon as it happens and what the staff have done to care for her, which has included them contacting A&E for a first responder to visit and on one occasion she was taken to A&E for attention. It turned out not to be too serious, the only requirement being to adjust her medication, which was all done over the phone with a family member without having to visit my sister until our regular visit. I have said before, I have no worries about my sister's care or attention. She is in safe hands. Marine Park View was and still is, a great choice for us.
Reply from Dr Vivek Gupta, CEO at Marine Park ViewThank you once again for your kind words and the time you have taken to do this review. It means the world to us and the whole team to read this review and to know that you happy with the care your sister receives at Marine Park View, in particular the example you gave regarding good communication from the team. We will ensure your kind words are passed onto the team.

My mother was transferred from Plymouth to the Marine Park View suffering with dementia and I can honestly say that from day one I have never looked back, the care she has received from the staff has been excellent, they are so caring and welcoming to us when we visit or call to speak to her, nothing
is ever to much.
The policies they have regarding the residents, visitors and staff are fair and well documented.
I have and will always recommend and praise the work, care and attention all the staff give, not only to my mother but all the residents.
Many thanks and keep up the great work.

My husband has resided at Westwood Lodge for 5 years now.
He has always received good care, he is now getting great care.
He now has a TV and radio in his room which he didn't have. He is having hair cuts regularly and his mood and appearance is a lot better. The staff have improved, the home has
improved and the general feels of the home is better.
Thanks to the new manager and l hope it continues.

My brother has been a resident at Westwood Lodge for a couple of years. Since the new manager has taken over I have noticed the improvement. The staff are caring and considerate. My brother is well cared for and happy. I have noticed a difference in staff attitude and response to requests. The manager
has always been very receptive to input and communication has improved greatly. I feel that the manager is now focused on quality care and this is reassuring after the last 18 months

If your looking for a residential care home for someone you love, I can highly recommend Marine Park View.
The staff are extremely caring and supportive to all residents that I have observed. They are also very warm and friendly to visitors. You can go in at anytime unannounced to visit your loved
one, who you can be sure is treated with care and dignity. Everyone I saw was treated with a lot of care and the house has a feeling of happiness.
I had my next of kin moved from a facility in Yorkshire, up here to South Shields because I had seen Marine Park View on just a drop in visit and was highly impressed with the place and the very friendly professional staff.
I cannot praise the place and staff enough for how my loved one was cared for.

We have an Aunt with dementia who has been a resident at Marine Park View for 3 years. We did look at other care homes, but most were much more expensive and didn't have the excellent sea-side location. We also thought other care homes had too much of a clinical, formal feel about them. Marine Park
View has more of an informal feel (in a good way). More like a sea-side B&B than a care home (again, in a good way). My Aunt thinks she is on a permanent holiday with plenty entertainment and an entourage of staff to attend to her every need (well, I suppose she is!).
Many improvements have been made over the past few years (levels of care, food / menu, in-house entertainment, day-trips away etc). These improvements have been recognised by the Care Quality Commission, who inspected MPV in April 2024 and noted that "substantial improvements had been made", rating MPV as "Good". Residents also told the CQC they enjoyed the increased activities and "felt safe", which is great for us to know!
Reply from Dr Vivek Gupta, CEO at Marine Park ViewThank you so much for your kind words- which means the world to the whole team. We are so thrilled to hear that your aunt feels she is on a permanent holiday! That is so lovely to hear and what we would wish for all of our lovely residents to feel at Marine Park View. We are so proud of the whole team and the excellent care they provide which you kindly point out has been recognised in the latest CQC Inspection. We are so thrilled for your feedback and we will continue to work hard to ensure the best care for our residents in the home.

I can't say enough good things about this care home. From the moment my elderly aunt moved in, the level of care, compassion, and professionalism from the entire team has been truly outstanding.
She is treated with genuine kindness and respect every single day. The staff take the time to get to know
her personally - her likes, dislikes and her routines - it makes such a difference. There's always a friendly face, and she often tells us how much she enjoys chatting with the carers and joining in the activities.
The home itself is warm, clean, and welcoming, with a real sense of community. Meals are nutritious and thoughtfully prepared, and the environment feels safe and comfortable - which gives our family so much peace of mind.
Knowing that she is happy, well cared for, and surrounded by people who truly value her means the world to us. This place has been a blessing, and we're incredibly grateful for everything they do.

Grandpa moved up from elsewhere in the country and the staff at MPV have been very helpful and attentive and gone to lengths to make him feel comfortable and settled. They look after him well and he has thrived after his hospital admission. Extra equipment has been provided to keep him safe and accommodating
his health needs and this has been acquired quickly and efficiently.
the staff are all very friendly and make visitors feel as welcome as the residents.

My father-in-law came to stay here end of December 2024 previously in a council run shelter but in a unit with extra care, which unfortunately never happened. He was left in his room all day an even in bed with snacks left in his sitting room. He came here from hospital and the staff here have been
fantastic, dad is kept clean, brought from his room everyday to mix with residents, which before no contact with anyone. he is eating meals and tries to chat, we have never seen him look so well in two years. Wish we had him here sooner. We are happy that he is being cared for at this stage of life. Thank you yo all.

My auntie has been a resident at Marine Park View for almost 2 years and is very happy there. She loves the staff and the personal attention she gets which she didn't get when she lived on her own. She also loves the views from the front windows, especially her bedroom window on the second floor out
across the park and the river. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is lovely with choices at meal times. There are activities and entertainment for the residents and regular family meetings so that family members know what is happening and what the plans are for the future. Highly recommended!

My Dad has been a resident since August 2021. I was happy when I first saw this comfortable home in such a great spot. My Dad loved walking at the park and the seaside, although he's a lot frailer now and we don't always get out. The staff at Marine Park View are so kind and gentle with my old Dad,
always treating him with dignity and genuine loving care. I'm often out of the country and the manager tries to contact me at least weekly for a WhatsApp video call! This means the world to me as I get a chance to see my Dad, he can see me and we can interact, sometimes easier than others as he has dementia but I always appreciate the effort that the manager makes. I can visit anytime, day or night when I'm there and am always welcomed into a clean and happy home. There are regular activities on the go which I can participate in too when I pop in! This is a lovely, friendly place which I would certainly recommend. My Dad is happy and content and very well cared for!

In my opinion, Marine View Park has an old-fashioned vibe, however, the staff and management project a very homely atmosphere and are improving all the time to suit the residents' needs as nothing seems to be a problem. I felt as though Mam would get more 1 to 1 care rather than a huge establishment.
They have fun activities, visiting any time and will happily discuss any issues with you. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a homely little care home.
Reply from Paul Smith, Director of Care, Quality and Operations at Marine Park ViewThank you - yes, we are not a one-size-fits-all modern building which looks more like a hotel than a home. We individualize every room and every social area and we are pleased you see the old-fashioned vibe as many of our residents are 75+ and feel comfortable in these homely, comforting environments. Thank you so much for your kind comments and recommendations, which I will be certain to pass on to our manager and her team.
