My mum originally came to Wilhelmina House for respite care. She was recovering from 2 surgeries within a week, one unexpected with life-changing impacts. There is a homely atmosphere. The downstairs shared spaces are lovely. Mum's room looked over the beautiful gardens which meant so much to her. She
was able to watch foxes on the lawn and spot a variety of birds. It's so quiet and lots of mature trees in the area. The staff have been astonishingly caring, supporting my mum when she felt overwhelmed by her unexpectedly quickly changed circumstances. The staff treat the family of residents as part of the family. Mum loved the garden, and activities including the live music, drumming, exercise, flower arranging and the energy of the children's visits from the local primary schools. And she loved the staff. She couldn't believe how caring they are. As the staff say, this is your home and they're there to help you live safely, comfortably and with joy.

This is a wonderful caring loving home. Staff always kind and helpful. Beautiful garden. Good food. Lots of interesting activities. Exactly what you would want. A heartfelt thank you for all your tender loving care for my stepmother.

My uncle was very well cared for at the Wilhelmina House. He was quite content and appreciated all that was done for him. The staff were very caring and kind and I could see they developed a genuine fondness for him. His only moan was the food, he didn't like overcooked vegetables. His family would
like to thank you all for making his last year safe and comfortable. He died today in hospital.

Wilhelmina House has always been excellent, clean, well managed with caring and attentive staff and very accommodating. My mother's 101st birthday they absolutely excelled even further putting on a great party for my mum which made her day very special we were all so very appreciative of this as mum
preferred not to go out for this as she had just recovered from covid. My mum is very happy here and she is not easy to please so hats off to the management and staff. Well, done and keep doing what you are doing.

My mother has been here for 18 months. Having been able to remain independent until she was 99. She remains fit and able but would never want to go back to the stress and strain of independence. Opticians, doctors, and any medication; all come to you. The staff really seem to enjoy their work and are
very warm and able to look after the small number of residents, above and beyond. It is a proper home from the moment you walk in the door. Superb!

I have been a resident for just over one year. It was such a great shock to me having to suddenly leave my own home, and enter this care home. I was so fit until I had to have surgery, which meant I would no longer look after myself at home. I was obviously upset and worried about the future, but after
a short period of adapting to a new way of life, I settled in very well thanks to the excellent facilities all around and realising the carers really cared, and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was able to join in and enjoy various activities. When speaking to relatives and friends I now can call it home.

My mother has been a resident at Wilhelmina House for just over a year. During this time she has been shown unfailing kindness by the Care Staff. They initially supported her through the traumatic transition from living in her own home and have continued to treat her with dignity and much good humour,
especially during periods of ill health. The premises are pleasant, clean and well maintained but these aspects are very much secondary to the excellent attitude of the staff. Mum particularly enjoys the beautiful gardens at Wilhelmina House which have helped her come to terms with the loss of her own much-loved garden.

Without hesitation, this care home is excellent, always smelling so fresh, from time of arrival at the door, it is so clean all over. Health and safety 4 star rating, very good value for money and all the residents seem to be happy and making friends easily.

During the pandemic Wilhelmina House has been managed with great care and efficiency to protect residents, with exemplary results. The staff team have looked after residents with much kindness and consideration, making them feel that Wilhelmina House is indeed their home and family community. The conditions
have not been easy, but staff's caring motivation and devotion to their duty has made life as comfortable and agreeable as possible for residents, and they are to be congratulated.

Whilst the surroundings are comfortable and the garden is beautiful, the thing I find so special is the staff. They are always so welcoming. They have all treated my mum with such love, care, and dignity as she is nearing the end of her life. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My mum has been at Wilhelmina House for over three years now, how time flies! Although I’m sure she misses the house she was in for over fifty years with many memories, there are absolutely no regrets about moving to Wilhelmina House as it was exactly the right thing to do. Mum is very happy there and
my wife and I have no doubts that the staff have the best interests of the residents at heart. Obviously things have been very challenging recently with Covid-19 but we are very happy with the way things have been handled and have no concerns about mum’s safety. The staff were really accommodating when we were finally able to visit recently, as we live away. We both really appreciated the flexibility, as did mum. So, thank you and look forward to seeing you all again shortly all being well!

My sister came to Wilhelmina House after suffering Covid-19. She was at a very low ebb, and was frightened and depressed. The excellent love and care that she has received there has been a major factor in her recovery. She is delighted with the care that she receives, and has decided to stay at Wilhelmina
House on a permanent basis.
The staff are always friendly and helpful when I visit, and they are very careful about the Covid-19 restrictions in order to protect all the residents and staff, as well as the visitors.
This is an excellent, well-run care home. I commend the John Whitgift Foundation for the provision of these care facilities.

i was very impressed with the care home. The staff are very caring and friendly. I feel my mother was very well cared for and especially in the last weeks of her life and very caring to us as a family. We all can't thank you enough.

Mum was happy in Wilhelmina House, the entertainment always looked ok although mum never joined in much.
When visiting mum the staff always pleasant and made you welcome, they were very good when mum was dying to her and us girls.

My mother recently passed away after living at Wilhelmina House for the past seventeen months. During that time she was very well cared for by very caring staff in pleasant surroundings.
Plenty of stimulation provided with different activities daily. Her food needs were provided for despite her difficult
needs. The end of life care they gave to my mother with assistance from the hospice was excellent. Well done Wilhelmina House.

My mother was cared for in Wilhelmina for 15 months. I couldn't have asked for a better care home for her. The staff are very kind, caring and professional, and more importantly, they are all long-term employees, so they get to know residents and their needs really thoroughly. The staff managed Mum's
many special needs whilst working hard to maintain her independence. The rooms are light and bright, kept very clean, have individual heating controls and opening windows for fresh air. Mum had a room with a lovely view over the beautifully kept gardens where she loved to sit out. There is ample room in the public areas for all residents to sit (unlike other homes I visited), and a great team of helpers provide varied activities and exercise for residents and day visitors. The food is varied and freshly prepared, with attention to individual preferences. I was impressed by how the Covid-19 crisis was handled, with visitor restrictions and PPE evident early on. Absolutely 5 Star - Thank you!

Wilhelmina House is an outstanding residential care home. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and kind. They exhibit the human qualities of listening, empathy and respect that is fundamental for good care and they are only too happy to go the extra mile to make the residents happy. The
building itself is well kept, clean and comprehensively equipped. There are plenty of stylish communal areas, a wonderful garden and a delightful eating area. The rooms are en-suite and have all the fixtures and fittings required for a short or long time. It is high specification but still homely. I hear the food is nutritious and delicious. There are plenty of activities managed by fun-loving and enthusiastic people. There is good phone signal and wi-fi.
My dad really loves every aspect of it.
