Wilhelmina House

I have been and seen to many care home in the Croydon area. Nothing is like Wilhelmina, the attention to care and detail is beyond anyone's expectations. The staff are always so happy to help and always to the extra mile to see to anyone's needs no matter the situation. Alongside, the staff has great knowledge on always making sure you are comfortable and in good health. I would always highly recommend this care home to anyone who is looking to reside there.

I have been visiting WH weekly since 2024. I have witnessed a great deal of care towards the residents , outstanding staff, clean and friendly. The activities are targeted to the residence needs and taste. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The manager is very professional and attentive .

All aspects of my care are excellent. Apart from activities. They are not always applied according to the standard of understanding.

My perspective as relative of a resident. My brother has recently moved into Wilhemina House. My experience has been very positive. The management staff were extremely helpful in the transition from his previous home. The staff are friendly and courteous at all times. My brother is still adjusting to the new environment and changes in routine make him anxious.

Very busy month for the residents, with all the Christmas activities such as Christmas carols, coffee mornings, all the entertainers coming into the home during all of December to cheer the residents and preparing them for Christmas. The residents all had presents and a lovely Christms dinner.

My relative was here 2 yrs & staff always caring, friendly, compassionate and professional (that included cleaning, catering, maintenance, & admin as well as the manager & care staff ). Staff turnover was low, allowing residents to see the same staff every day. Staff knew regular visitors by name too. Staff made time to chat with the residents they cared for, & my relative enjoyed taking an interest in them & their families. Staff were running activities most weekdays when I visited, so it was not just the TV left on all day. They would also take phone calls for my relative & give the phone to her so she could still speak on the phonewhen she was too unwell to manage her own phone. She was happy & well cared for. At her end of life, she had to be nursed in bed, but it was a comfort to know she could remain in the same home. Staff liaised with GP, district nurses & local hospice to support her in that. I have visited a few care homes in my time, but this was one of the good ones

What really stands out is the staff. Their dedication and genuine care for residents really shows. They go above and beyond. The facilities are always clean and the events are always well planned.

Great experience. Mum is well cared for and treated well. Staff are excellent, friendly, caring and helpful. A slight frustration with the recent lift situation, but rectified now (difficult for mum's mobility to be restored after a prolonged time on the corridor/in her room only). However, apart from this excellent.

My father was a resident at Wilhelmina House from February 2024 to May 2025. He sadly passed away in June 2025 . But in the short time he was there he was very happy there. He particularly enjoyed the friendliness of the staff.

My grandma has been a resident since Oct 24. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a particularly lovely member of staff, we knew this was home for her. We love the place, staff, and ambience and have made this our 'family home' too.

Very pleased with the care and service my grandmother is receiving. The staff are very friendly and the activities are great. The home is beautiful and well-kept. Highly recommend!

The manager and her team at Wilhelmina House are so kind and patient. They look after my mother with such care and dignity. The home is spotless and the food is very good. I couldn't be happier with the home.

Very welcoming staff at all times. The staff have gone over and above to make my mother very comfortable. She has a particular fondness for one staff member, the first person to greet her and make her welcome. My mother has settled in and with the improvement of the weather, she loves to sit in the beautiful garden.

My husband spent two months here following a stroke, as our home was being refurbished. Wilhelmina House has a peaceful, calm atmosphere and a lovely garden. It is well laid out and furnished, and staff work hard to maintain a very high standard of cleanliness. The home is well-run and managed. Staff are friendly, supportive and very responsive. My husband felt safe and well cared for here and he was encouraged to take steps to regain his mobility and independence.

I have been here for 3 weeks and I have been very happy. Everything is excellent.

It has been a very difficult transition for Mum to move into a home. I looked at a few and found Wilhelmina House to be the best choice by far. It has such a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. The first thing that hit me was the light, garden and calm atmosphere. It's such a serene, tranquil space with lots of places to relax. The staff are delightful. I have always found all the staff to be kind, helpful, friendly and smiling. Mum is not easy to please and does find the food not to her taste. I haven't tried it of course so only going from what she says. From my own perspective, I love Wilhelmina and am so happy mum is here.

I would be hard-pushed to find another home that could compete with Wilhelmina House. Mum has lived here very happily for several years and always tells me how good it is when I visit. I'm grateful for those who care and encourage her. I know my concerns are answered promptly and good contact is maintained between the staff and myself.

What a fantastic place for all residents. The staff do everything and go over and above their duties. Great job!

My mother has settled in very well at Wilhelmina House. She very much enjoys the wide range of activities. The staff are all excellent, always friendly and efficient. I am sure she will continue to be happy and thrive here.

I find the atmosphere and friendly approach of the care staff encouraging. The facilities are also very good, beautiful garden and enjoyable social garden events which have been lively.
