It is clean and has been newly refurbished and is excellent value for money. The real and most important difference is the staff group. Everyone is friendly, interested, genuinely caring and very good at their jobs.
My first week here has been very good. Everyone is so kind and caring.
I have been very happy and comfortable. I have been here about 6 weeks and have been made to feel very welcome ever since arriving. The staff treat me like family. I feel very safe here.
Friendly, helpful, quite delightful.
My mother became a resident of Wilhelmina House (WH) earlier this year and soon settled in thanks to the support and kindness of the staff. She is very well cared for and says she feels very safe and happy. It is an absolute pleasure to visit WH as it feels like one big family. In my opinion, WH is an exceptional residential home mostly due to the calibre of the staff.
Very friendly.
I am a friend of a previous resident of Wilhelmina House who has moved to a home with more nursing care. I still visit Wilhelmina House once or twice a week and join in the excellent activities provided by the activities manager. The comfortable house has beautiful gardens front and back. The staff are very cheerful and caring and every day there are various activities for the residents. I can't fault Wilhelmina House, the food, rooms, activities, facilities and staff are excellent.
On each occasion, over the last year when I have visited my Mother, the staff have always been helpful and friendly. The home is always very clean and tidy and foremost my Mother and all the residents I have met have all been very cheerful.
My Mother has been a resident for the last three years and before that, visiting for the day or respite. As a family, we have been very impressed with the staff, their care and support. Any concerns have been addressed promptly and we share this with our friends and local community quite frequently. My Mum frequently says how happy she is at Wilhelmina and how much she enjoys being a resident.
Always a pleasure to visit. My friend is very happy here apart from a few issues with food. I am always made most welcome and staff have gone out of their way to make me tea/coffee etc.
I love visiting our friend in this home. The care he receives is perfectly judged for him and he is happy.
Excellent atmosphere delightful surroundings. The care shown was exemplary. Residents and visitors felt part of the 'Whitgift' family.
Apart from the very high standard of the building, facilities and setting and organisation, it is the quality of the staff and the very high level of care for all the residents that stands out. As a visitor, I have always been warmly welcomed and I have been highly impressed by - and grateful for - the way in which they have cared for my mother in law and enabled her to live her final years with as much dignity as possible.
A friendly, comfortable home from home. Beautiful grounds and modern well maintained building. Staff are extremely helpful.
I am a daycare service user at Wilhelmina House and have been for over four years. It is so warm and friendly and very welcoming to me. A lovely atmosphere every time I go. The new refurbishments are amazing too.
Wilhelmina House provides a warm, comfortable, secure home to my grandmother. The staff are all friendly, approachable and highly professional. I am confident that my grandmother is happy and being cared for to the highest standard. I always feel welcome and have complete peace of mind that my grandmother is in the best place.
Staff always helpful and cheerful, also office and management the same.
I was so sad to move my friend due to needing special care.
If ever I need a care home I would love to go to Wilhelmina House for their care and love that is given to residents and family.
I used to visit a neighbour who lived alone but broke her hip a few years ago and became a resident of Wilhelmina House. Later she moved to another home as she needed more nursing care.
I visit Wilhelmina House usually once a week and help if needed and join in the activities which are many.
The house is very comfortable with a beautiful extensive garden where the residents can sit out in the summer. There are a variety of activities for the residents provided by an excellent activities manager which includes visits and entertainment.
The staff are wonderful, caring and cheerful and the whole ethos of the house is the happiness of the residents.
Carers work hard to maintain a good atmosphere. They are respectful and friendly.
Activities provided daily, good food, and good furnishings and décor.
Overall this is a well run and excellent residential care home. The care staff are great with residents and visitors and always appear cheerful. My mother and all our family feel she is well cared for. Mum occasionally gets unwanted (but not unfriendly) visits from a confused resident, which needs to be monitored. Excellent social activities, some of which Mum enjoys. A very good move for her!

I have always had a passion for working with older people as I believe I can contribute and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
I started as a Care Assistant and I was supported to progress my career to Home Manager. Wilhelmina House, residents and staff alike are like a family to me.
