Review of Arden Grange Residential Care Home from J E (Sister of Resident) published on 26 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

In March my sister coming up for a special 80th birthday in April. She is learning disabled. All the staff including housekeeping, nursing, caring staff and admin, look after her special needs and she wants for nothing. She has full attention night and day. They all worked hard to make her birthday the best she could have.

Review of Appletrees Care Home from D M (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 1 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

After successfully removing our grandad from the awful institution, we want to highlight the dangers of this uncaring home. Management-miserable, unco-operative and unprofessional. When concerns were highlighted, the response was a shoulder shrug. They do not care and they do not take accountability. The carers-there are a handful of carers that actually care. The rest sit in silence on their phones. Cleanliness-appalling and often we would find our grandads bedroom covered in days worth of urine. Activities-what activities? There is no stimulation whatsoever for residents with dementia. We often witnessed residents stood crying looking out of a window. They don't acknowledge the residents or make conversation, they are left to wander aimlessly and become agitated. Safeguarding-this should be highlighted soon by CQC in their many recent reviews. It is dangerous. The place needs shutting down and the manager needs to be removed. I am thankful my grandad no longer has to live here.

Reply from Julie Rotchell, Operational Director SRN at Appletrees Care Home

This review is extremely upsetting. Our residents are all treated with the utmost respect and dignity. They are allowed to cry, walk with reason if they so wish, we do not restrain any resident. All residents are given an individual care package which is confidential. I believe your visits were...

Review of Arden Grange Residential Care Home from Sally A (Friend of Resident) published on 27 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My friend has lived in Arden Grange for a few months now. I visit her weekly, the home has a nice atmosphere and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The care provided to my friend is top class and the carers are very kind and compassionate, I've never heard the carers speak sharply to a resident or be impatient with them, my friend is happy here which is most important. The door to the managers office is always open (unless they are genuinely unavailable) and the manager and her assistant are always happy to listen to any concerns I have (which are noted and dealt with) and answer any questions, they don't make me feel rushed or like I'm a nuisance. I highly recommend Arden Grange

Reply from Abigail Melaniphy, Registered Manager at Arden Grange Residential Care Home

Thank you Sally for such a wonderful review. We love to see you and the care and love you have for your friend every week is lovely to see. We enjoy seeing you every week. I will certainly pass the comments on to the whole team. Best Wishes Abby

Where do I start. All of the staff have made the transition of moving my father in law in to the home a seamless one. The staff are kind, approachable and genuinely caring to each and every resident and their families. Can not thank the staff enough for everything they do to keep my father in law happy, safe and well cared for.

Review of Norton Grange Nursing Home from Tracey G (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Norton grange has a homely atmosphere. My dad feels very settled as if he was still at home. The staff are friendly and down to earth and always have a friendly smile and happy to assist with anything that is required to help my dad. I am made to feel very welcome when I visit and am always updated on my dads wellbeing. The staff fully engage on all levels with my dads care whether it be conversations about his family or managing his medical conditions. The food is varied from day to day and plenty of snacks and drinks available throughout the day. The staff celebrate all occasions with the residents and this can be seen with the creative art work displayed depending on what they are celabrating.

Overall I am very satisfied with my dads care and as long as he is happy, I am happy.

Review of The Grange from Amy W (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 23 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My step father came for a weeks respite, he has Parkinson's and dementia. The care during his stay was exceptional, he was treated with care, kindness and dignity at all times. All the staff from care staff, management and catering staff were very professional yet added a personal touch. They were able to meet all of his needs, including medication, care and diet. The care met all his individual needs, as well as the activities arranged for him and the other residents. The home has such a homely atmosphere, I would recommend The grange to short and long term stays.

First thing noticed - no smells. The building is well lit. The staff are very efficient and caring, this includes the cleaners. The staff are also very friendly. The room is very spacious and includes a television and hand basin. Food is very good and varied. Regular tea breaks with biscuits quite often during the day. Overall a pleasant atmosphere.

Review of The Grange from Sallyanne T (Wife of Resident) published on 8 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband stayed at The Grange for Respite. From start to finish the process was flawless. Emma and the team made what I thought would be a stressful process extremely pleasant. I never had to worry about him being taken care of and they kept me informed of everything from minor to significant issues but respecting that I needed a well earned break. Caring, compassionate, homely and the care being some of the best I have seen.
I would recommend The Grange to anyone having to find care and will be my only place I would look for Respite/ permanent care.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone on the amazing work you all do

Review of Arden Grange Residential Care Home from Sarah H (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Staff are pleasant, approachable and kind. Dad is well looked after and it gives peace of mind to know he is getting 24 hour care and the carers are there looking after his welfare. The GP's surgery is nearby and the home is in a quiet countryside location, with plenty of birds on the feeders. Dad particularly likes it when there is entertainment or a religious service /hymns as this breaks up the day and adds interest. They mark important days like Rememberance Day and have fun on not-so-important days , like Hallowe'en, which is great.

Review of The Grange from Kym M (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mom has been at The Grange Care Home for nearly five years, and I can honestly say the staff are incredible. Nothing is ever too much trouble. She is safe, happy, and always looks completely "at home" - which is the very best I could ask for.
Recently, mom had to undergo an operation, and Emma, the manager, actually came with us. She stayed with me throughout the whole process because she knew how worried I was. She didn't hesitate for a moment to be there for both mom and myself, and that meant the world.

The Grange team always go above and beyond, though they'll tell you this is just "normal." For us, as family members, it's so reassuring to know that each and every one of them truly cares. I couldn't ask for better.
