My father has just spent a few weeks in Simonsfield. The team that looked after him were second to none. The home is incredibly well appointed with great facilities, excellent food, comfortable spacious rooms, cinema, lounges, dining rooms. Great programme of things to do. From the moment he arrived
he was made to feel welcome and every single carer had him and the rest of the residents at the centre of what they do. They were incredibly supportive and looked after him really well. Debbie runs a great team and all the careers, nurses and staff could not do enough for us.
Reply from Debbie Smith, Manager at Simonsfield Care HomeThank you for your lovely review, we are very pleased Dad enjoyed his short stay with us and the family also, all the team and myself appreciate such lovely feedback, thankyou for taking the time.

This is probably the best care home I have ever encountered. All the staff are so caring, thoughtful and friendly. They are offering a first class service. I have worked in care home myself and this is the finest. Home from home, I can't thank the staff enough, they have made my lovely sister feel so
welcomed and loved, given the short time she has been a resident there. "Brilliant" place. xx

Absolutely disgusting place walls are filthy stinks of urine not homely at all my aunty looled disgusting hair a mess and all dried up sleep in her eyes my dog lives in better conditions needs looking into.
Reply from Daniella Bennett, Home Manager at Halton ViewThank you for sharing your concerns about your aunt's care. We understand how important it is to feel confident in the care she's receiving. We'd like to assure you we are taking your concerns seriously. These issues were not raised previously, and we would have addressed them promptly if they had been.

Regarding the odour, we recently had an IPC inspection, where no urine odour was detected, and the home was praised for its cleanliness. The walls have been freshly painted and are well-maintained, with wear and tear being regularly monitored. Your aunt's personal care is a priority, and she is always washed, dressed, and groomed with dignity and respect.

The signing book is always available, and we welcome any further feedback or discussion on how we can continue to support your aunt's well-being.

My Dad became a resident of Halton View in June and has settled in really well. His room is clean and tidy. He is well looked after and is offered plenty of enrichment activities. The food always smells amazing and he is offered choices at every meal. It's always hard having to make the choice to put
a loved one into residential care, but my mind is at ease knowing he is getting well looked after.

The carers and staff here are amongst the nicest people I have met, the care and consideration they give to the residents is bountiful.
After visiting my aunt I leave knowing full well she will be looked after and I need not worry.
I feel blessed that we managed to get my aunt a place here.
Thankyou
Team Simonsfield.

I try to visit my dad most days, even if it's only half an hour. Each time, I am made to feel so welcome by all the staff, office doors are always open to encourage openness and feedback. The staff do an amazing job, which is not easy when caring for dementia patients. I'm so grateful for the wonderful
care dad's getting at a difficult time in our lives and can't thank them enough.

Huge improvement this summer since the change in management and the introduction of the activities for ladies.

Simonsfield is a wonderful care home. I can't praise the staff enough. They are caring, professional, compassionate and friendly. I know that my dad is receiving excellent care. Dad has a great relationship with the staff and considers them as his friends. There is a full programme of activities every
day and great thought goes into organising events. We take comfort knowing my dad is settled and well cared for and that we have made the right decision choosing this care home.

Mum moved into Simonsfield May 2022 and the staff have been amazing. Everyone knew her name from day one and treated her with love and kindness, she has laughed and cried with them and I have had peace of mind that she has been well cared for and safe. They maintained her dignity when she was unable
to do anything for herself and loved her until the end. Sadly she passed away in June surrounded by staff who genuinely loved her and I thank god we got her in here. I would recommend Simonsfield to anyone thinking of putting a loved one in care. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for mum over the past 3 years.

My mum went into Aaron Court in July after a hospital stay. We were told it was rehabilitation to get her home, but by early September she was back in hospital severely malnourished, dehydrated, and with stage 2 pressure sores. We were told she was dying. She'd lost so much weight she was fiddling with
her wedding ring - worn every day for 56 years - and a staff member threw it in the bin. No apology. She was often left in bed all day, unwashed, in mismatched clothes that weren't hers, with matted hair and dirt under her nails. We raised concerns about pain she was in, but nothing was noted. The pressure sore was only picked up at hospital, who raised a safeguarding alert. The home smelled, felt unclean, and senior staff were dismissive. We were led to believe this was the right place - it wasn't. Our family will never forget what she went through at Aaron Court.

Not being cleaned, hair matted and filthy. When I have enquired apparently lots of agency staff this is still not acceptable. My mother's teeth went missing and all care staff could do when we asked was to shrug shoulders. My mother is not being treated with dignity. Yes I have complained and will continue
to.
Reply from Ellen Sharp, CRO at Aaron Court Care HomeWe are disappointed to hear that your experience at our care home hasnt been the positive one we would like it to be, and would like to reassure you that we take all complaints seriously. Treating people with dignity and looking after the health, hygiene and wellbeing of those residing in the home is of paramount importance to us and we take pride in all aspects of the care we provide. We aim to keep agency use to a minimum but unfortunately there some occasions, like staff sickness, where we have no other option as we need to maintain staff numbers on the floor to support our residents. We have an open-door policy and always encourage relatives to contact the home if they have any concerns so that we can assist in resolving them immediately. We aim to use all feedback in a positive manner to continuously improve our service and care for our residents and their families.
