Barnfield staff have welcomed my husband and myself to the home and given me the reassurance I need that he is safe, his needs met and all with kindness from every member of staff.
It's been a very difficult time and I can now feel that he is in good hands, with my own concerns taken into account at
all times.
The staff have also welcomed our grandsons and even the dog to the home.
His nursing care needs have also been well met.
I would like to add that the staff who are in the background but equally as important, the admin, cleaning, kitchen, laundry and maintenance staff are also doing a great job.
Many thanks.
the background but deserve much appreciation such as the kitchen, laundry and cleaning staff

My husband was assessed & requiring residential care when I asked for emergency respite care.
My husband quickly required necessary care and then End of life care.
Everyone at Barnfield Care Home from management to care staff worked very hard to care for my husband, everything I asked was undertaken
with love and care. The support helped me and my family at a very difficult time.
THankyou.

Every time I visit the staff know my Grandma by name, can tell me how she's doing, what she's been up to and where she is currently. The staff don't have a high rotation so they all recognise me and I believe my grandma has a good continuity of care.

My mum came into Holmewood in December on respite care and is continuing on to become a permanent resident.
The transition from home to care is very traumatic for everyone, but I have to say that I feel she is in the best place with Cathy and her team. The staff are always pleasant and friendly, and
the facilities are good. Since being in with other people who have become friends, mum is enjoying the experience and seems settled, giving me peace of mind.

My mum was only at Barnfield for a week after being discharged from hospital following a hip operation. She had severe dementia and the trauma of being in hospital and away from home was clearly too much for her. Although the staff didn't know my mum very well, they cared for her wonderfully as she
came to the end of her life. Not only did they make her as comfortable as possible, they also looked after my dad and our family as we spent those final few days with her - keeping us in tea, sandwiches and biscuits. The nurses were so kind and caring, always ready to answer our questions and offer comfort. Nothing was too much trouble - they arranged for a priest to come which my dad was very grateful for. And welcomed my sister when she arrived from London at 1am! My mum died peacefully thanks to all the exceptional staff at Barnfield, which has made a huge difference to our family. Thank you.
Reply from Rebecca Wass, Home Manager at Barnfield Care HomeThank you for the thoughtful gesture of the plant, card and biscuits for the team, and for your kind words in this review; both were greatly appreciated by everyone. We are very sorry for the loss of your mum and feel privileged that we were able to care for her during her final days. It means a great deal to know that she was comfortable and treated with the kindness and dignity she deserved, and that our staff were able to support you and your family during such an emotional time. Your comments about the nurses and the support you received will be shared with the whole team, who will be truly touched to know the difference they made. It was an honour to care for your mum, and we are grateful that you placed your trust in us.

Warm & welcoming home - not 'smelly'. Lots of staff around - friendly & approachable. Good variety of food & menu options. Lots of interaction/friendly banter. Cosy room with own toilet (top-up payable) Lots of nooks & cranny's for quiet time. Open hours for family & friends to visit. Welcome to enjoy
Christmas dinner with my Dad. Message re laundry didn't get passed on. Not informed when Dad was unwell.

My son was in hospital from March to August with lots of medical issues. As he started to improve it became apparent that he needed a different surrounding. He was transferred to Branfield mid August and after the initial 'changes' my son soon settled into his need care regime. All staff were very helpful,
informative, respectful and pleasant, carrying out their duties to a high standard. A timetable of activities for residents always available on the notice board near the main entrance door. My son made very good progress at Barnfield and I'd like to thank everyone for making his stay happy and comfortable.

He was very well thought of by everyone and is genuinely missed. Your kind words mean so much to the staff, who always strive to care with warmth, dignity and respect. We are so pleased to hear he made such positive progress and that his stay at Barnfield was comfortable and happy. We all wish him the very best for the future.
