Willowdene has a lovely, inviting feel to it. The staff are warm and welcoming, they along with the manager were very supportive and helpful during a daunting decision to place our loved one in their care for respite. It is very apparent that the team care deeply for their residents.
Despite being
busy, the team were always on hand to offer support or assistance. We will return for any future respite needs.

Nan is always clean and dressed when I visit, the staff are friendly and helpful. Nan enjoys the activities and games provided by the care team. Nans room is kept clean and tidy like it would be at home.
Nan enjoys her meals especially puddings.

My personal experience with the management and staff at the care home has always been very good. I have always been treated with respect, and the care they give to residents is above and beyond everything, they are so dedicated. I can't praise them enough.

This is an ideal place for short term respite of which I was or long term residential care. The staff are approachable friendly & kind. The carers from nurses to domestics are excellent in their care & duties. All the residents are happy and easy to get along with. The food is great and choices are
available for all dietary requirements. They have a veterans guide to residential care and have ex forces staying there. I was treat with dignity and respect throughout my time there, they go above & beyond to include everyone in all goings on. When I next need respite care I'll willingly go back.

Staff are lovely and do their best but so short staffed.
Residents as a result of this are left unsupervised.
Poor cleaning standards, especially on a weekend.
Resident's personal hygiene/care is sporadic.
Not aesthetically pleasing. Little stimulation for residents.

Reply from Christopher Hogan-Hind, Manager at Willowdene Care Home

The staff are always so friendly and caring towards not just the residents but also the families and friends. We have had my grandma in 1 other home before moving here, since she moved she has become her chatty self again, she's eating and drinking properly (when required the staff are always happy
to assist her), she is engaging in the activities. My grandma is so well cared for now she calls it her forever home and this makes us so happy as a family. I would highly recommend putting family members here.

Willowdene is a family environment, staff are extremely friendly, caring and genuine in their approach to residents and their families. The atmosphere in the home is always warm and happy. My mother is being well cared for by all the staff regardless of their role in the home. They take time to engage
with Mam, often sit and speak with her so she does not feel isolated, at 96 years young that is important to us as a family.

My mam is in good, safe hands. We feel as though all staff are approachable and deal with any queries honestly and with Mam's best interests at heart. Since the manager returned, changes that have been implemented have been positive. I'm pleased he's back. Activities are going from strength to strength
and all residents are thought out with regards to participation.

My mam is a resident here and has been here for many years. There are some staff who I think could be better but management is great and the senior carer is fantastic, and when she is on and certain cares are on my mind they are put to rest. Since new management have come things have got a lot better
I hope this manager is here to stay as there have been a lot of changes since her arrival. I'm very happy with my mam's care here.

My mam has been a resident for a number of years and at times over those years has not received the best care and management not helpful. There have been a number of managers lately and I am pleased to say the last 2 have been excellent. Also, the care my mam receives from the senior healthcare carer
is exemplary and she is an asset to the home. All my mum's needs are met by some carers in particular.

While Mam was in the home, she received excellent care. The home had a very warm and friendly feeling. The staff were very friendly, caring and supportive to Mam and us. Mam particularly enjoyed the food and thought it was just like "homemade". When we visited, it was always clean and tidy. Mum was
always well cared for, and we felt her needs were met as she required more care. We wish to thank everyone at Waverley Lodge for making Mam feel so cared for in her final months.
