A few days ago my mother, a long term resident at Milngavie Manor, passed away at the home. The staff at Milngavie Manor had always excelled in the care that they offered and at this very difficult time it is difficult to know how they could have been better. The care that Jackie received from the staff
and the NHS nurses who attended was everything we could have possibly hoped for and the empathy that was shown to me as a relative clearly illustrated their genuine concern for the dying and the grieving. Some of the staff had known my mother for the whole five years or so she was there and bonds had formed - these are not carers who just come in to get the job done; they live the job. Thank you to all at Milngavie Manor; you gave my mother a genuine quality of life in her last years and a peaceful and dignified end that I will always be grateful for.
Reply from Megan Templeton, Home Ambassador at Milngavie Manor Care HomeDear Crispin,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share these heartfelt words during such a difficult time. We are deeply sorry for your loss and truly honored that Milngavie Manor was entrusted with Jackie's care over the past five years.
Your comments mean a great deal to our team. We strive to provide not only exceptional care but also genuine compassion and dignity for every resident and their family. Knowing that Jackie's final days were peaceful and that you felt supported brings us comfort and reinforces why we do what we do.
We will share your message with all the staff and NHS nurses involved-they will be touched to know their dedication made a difference. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to support you further.
With deepest sympathy and gratitude,
Everyone at Milngavie Manor

We are delighted with the care that Mum is receiving in Milngavie Manor. She is very well cared for by all the staff .All her care needs are met to a high standard. The attitude of the staff is very positive, kind and nurturing .They could not be more welcoming .Nothing appears to be any trouble , even
when they are busy. The cleanliness of the home is to a high standard. The variety and choice tempting , healthy and easy to eat and digest. The decor is very beautiful and fresh. Attention has been pain to colour and furnishings to create a stylish contemporary Scottish look , with well chosen beautifully framed prints on the walls and complementary smart homeware .The food is exactly right. The variety and choice tempting , healthy and easy to eat and digest. The social spaces are well thought out. Safetly of movement is considered and accounted for. There are no trip hazards and there is a feeling of spaciousness. The social calander offers interesting activities, a hairdresser too!

My Dad has been a resident at Milngavie Manor for over 5 years now. It is such a lovely carehome. The staff are amazing, very friendly, welcoming & warm. The care home is always clean & warm. They organise great activities for the residents as well as nice outings on the care home bus. The food is delicious
too with lots of supplies of tea, coffee & cake in between meals. My Dad feels safe, secure & well cared for. I couldn't recommend Milngavie Manor enough if you are looking for a care home for your loved one.

From my very first visit I was impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and concern exhibited by all staff. This continued throughout my relative' s respite stay.
Everyone I came into contact with went out of their way to reassure and to help both the resident and the family.
The bedrooms and
the public areas are lovely and spotlessly clean.
Overall an outstanding care home.

My Mum has been in Milngavie Manor for seven years now, so you can say we are very happy with the care and attention she receives. Mum is now 99 years old and knows the staff very well, she has seen some come and go and some who have left over the past few years still come to visit her.
The home is
very much to our taste regarding cleanliness and the staff always have her dressed smartly and her hair is always done. The food is first class and she very much enjoys it. Activities are extremely good albeit she doesn’t always join in as she gets tired sometimes.
The home has a mini-bus and Mum and other residents enjoy being taken out on outings fairly regularly. Very pleased with the new manageress who is always ready to listen to any concerns that we may have.
I would thoroughly recommend this home to others who are looking for a care home where they can be assured that their loved ones will be well looked after.

After my father had a severe stroke, I came to visit the home daily for a few hours over a ten-day period whilst my family recovered from bouts of Covid. As a frequent, persistent visitor during that time, I was able to observe multiple "days in the life" of my father in the home. He has lived there
for one and a half years and this is the latest stage in his decline. The carers were superb, thoughtful, sensitive, caring in the complete sense of the word. Food was oof the scale excellent and enjoyed. The new manager was great, listened, acted, took on board feedback and was knowledgeable. Great nurses too, with the right medical treatments and proactivity. Deeply impressed.

We could not have found more loving and caring staff for our dad who had dementia and whose home was Milngavie Manor for the last two years. So supportive to my mum too. Speaks volumes about the calibre of their staff, that each evening after ending their shifts, they stopped by my dad's room, to spend
time with him and his children when he was on palliative care.

From the very first moment of her arrival, 3 and a half years ago, my mum knew she was going to fit in and feel very much at home here.
There are so many positives that Milngavie Manor stands out from the crowd and from other existing care homes.
Whenever I visit, there is always a feeling of friendliness
and helpfulness and the continual excellent dedication and care from each staff member, throughout all departments, is clearly evident.
Very happy to see the new manager making her presence known to residents and visitors alike, adding to that 'cared for experience' it would be good if Hamberley Care Homes would acknowledge the hard-working staff, especially during staff shortages where they are stretched and undervalued.

My aunt has been a resident of Milngavie Manor for the past 5 months.
All staff are extremely professional, attentive and appear highly skilled.
The public areas are well furnished and there is a high level of cleanliness noticeable throughout.
Residents bedrooms are warm, well decorated and personalised.
The en-suite bathrooms are kept spotlessly clean.
Food appears to be nutritious, varied and plentiful.
In my opinion the staff and management really do get to know their clients. They communicate regularly with me about my aunt's care and I feel that they listen to any concerns that I may have and act quickly to reassure me.
As my aunt has advanced dementia she can get very agitated and anxious at times. During such times I have witnessed how the care staff show patience in calming, reassuring and redirecting her.
It is a great comfort to me to know that my aunt is treated with respect and dignity and is well cared for.
I can’t recommend Milngavie Manor highly enough.

I am very happy with the care my aunt has been receiving at Milngavie Manor since moving from another care home three months ago. I believe she is being very well cared for with staff keeping me well informed on how she is settling in and with regards to her health and wellbeing. All members of staff
I have met, management, reception, cleaners, carers, nurses, and entertainment staff, are all very approachable and appear to be doing a great job in these challenging times. The chefs do a wonderful job keeping the residents fed, the quality and variety of food is great. All areas of the home are well maintained and are kept very clean - residents' rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, as are the common areas (lounges, dining rooms, cafe etc). I would have no hesitation recommending Milngavie Manor for a loved one.
