A four week respite stay for my wife who has dementia. From the first contact staff have been caring, compassionate, professional and efficient. I was made welcome on a first exploratory visit as was my wife's sister and then again when I visited with my wife to be assessed.
Staff were very good on
the day of arrival for start of stay in ensuring she was not distressed by my departure. The standard of care remained good in that she was content and relaxed and clearly had enjoyed her stay.
Food that I saw and sampled was good and daily activity schedule looked varied.
I would have no qualms about using Elstow Manor again for respite care.

It was my uncle's birthday. We as his local family met at the home to join him for tea. Reg was so happy when a present from the manor arrived at his room, and then a cake arrived. It really made his day. This is just one item of many that the manor team have put on. Thank you.

My mother and father have both been in residence at Richmond Manor! Sadly Dad passed away in December 2025, the care and compassion shown was exceptional. The are he received was excellent. Mum is still at the home, the staff couldn't be better, kind, caring & understanding. The home is kept in tip
top condition. The staff also there to help & support family members at difficult times.

Overall, this is the best care home I have had experience of (of which there are many). The management and staff are almost all trying hard to get this right. There is a very positive atmosphere and a feeling of warmth and genuine compassion between the management and staff, staff with other staff,
and staff with residents and loved ones.
Any concerns or suggestions I have are welcomed and I feel that I and the management/staff are all working towards the best outcomes for the residents.
(I would be happy to discuss ways of improving further.)

Can't praise this care home enough! My mother was given absolutely outstanding care in October when she was admitted into the nursing home with terminal cancer. They treated her with so much care, compassion and dignity. The staff are absolutely amazing and were always available for me to have a chat
when I was struggling with the situation. From the reception, care workers, handymen and nurses any concerns were listened to and I felt rest assured my Mum was getting the exceptional care she deserved. She loved the food and it was so nice for her to be able to have her hair done in the salon. It is amazing you allow dogs to visit and this cheered my Mum up immensely. I want to pass on my thanks to all at Caddington Grove who made my Mums last few weeks of life so comfortable!
Reply from Emma Burns, Home Manager at Caddington Grove Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. On behalf of everyone at Caddington Grove, I would like to express our sincere thanks for your kind words and, most importantly, for trusting us to care for your Mum during such a deeply personal and emotional time. Providing compassionate, dignified, and person-centred care at the end of life is something we take immense pride in, and it means a great deal to know that your Mum felt comfortable, supported, and cared for during her final weeks. I am especially pleased to hear that the team were able to support you as a family as well, as we recognise how important it is to care for loved ones alongside our residents. Your recognition of the whole team, from reception and maintenance through to our care and nursing staff, will be shared with them. Feedback like this truly reinforces the impact of their dedication and compassion. Our thoughts remain with you and your family, at this difficult time

Elstow Manor cared for my mother-in-law for the last month of her life, and hers and our experience was exceptional. As soon as we met Ramona and Nancy, we knew this was the best place for her, and it was. I had recommendations from friends who had had family members there, and seeing they had been
awarded "outstanding" for care was the decider. We and she found everything outstanding, her room, her care, the food and most importantly, the wonderful staff. A truly outstanding home from home. Thank you.

We came to see my uncle for the first time on 22nd December, we were welcomed immediately by the friendly staff to have a coffee and then bring my uncle to see us, we were empatheticaly advised he had deteriorated, to prepare us. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. On leaving we returned him
to his room which was very clean and tidy.
Thanks to everyone.

My Father was discharged from hospital to Elstow Manor Care Home 4 weeks ago. The Relations Manager was efficient, which make the move into the home seamless. She was also very sympathetic as my Dad wife had just passed away. In that time Dad has been in Elstow Manor, the care he has received has been
superb. He is now eating more, and very slowly gaining strength. The staff are always willing to help and are approachable when Dad needs something - for example drinks or food. The environment of the home is lovely and has a very calm feel to it.

My mother was discharged from hospital at short notice but was unable to return home immediately. We needed some residential respite urgently. Val and the Team at Elstow were amazing, within 24 hours they had visited and assessed mum in hospital and arranged for her transfer to the home. Quite an
amazing task for which we will forever be grateful. The Home is quite stunning with all the staff doing everything possible to make the stay as comfortable as is possible. At all times I felt my mum was safe and very well looked after.

We visited a friend staying at the home after a time in hospital and we were really impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the welcome they gave us and their caring nature towards her. It is a big home and she hadn't been there very long but as we walked with her to the café any staff
we came across seemed to know her name and say hello to her.
There was a lovely atmosphere and some really personal touches we thought to make the residents feel at home. We were grateful for the time that was taken to answer some of our questions as we were learning more about the home and we also saw some residents enjoying a fun group activity whilst we were there. We are pleased that our friend can be in this home to recover and rehabilitate.
